Stopped working w Zwift

Not sure why after 6 months of flawless use

HR not updating

Recently I noticed that on my Apple Watch Ultra 2 the heart rate stays constant. It did not change I bps the entire 45 minutes. I assume this is a bug???

Unable to restore purchased

Will not restore my purchased upgrade with new phone

Does not work as promised

I needed a way to connect my Apple Watch with my Nordic Track treadmill and iFIT app. Does not work 98% of the time. Customer service does not respond and Apple will not refund!

Update: A YEAR later the developer responded. Still no refund and no connection.

After recent update (Apr. 2026)

I have to set the app up every time I launch a new workout. This is a real pain. And also every time I launch the app, I have to click through a message that tells me in-app purchases are not permitted. Also a pain.

April 8th update. Big has been fixed, app is now working as desired. Thanks.

FAQ

What does the Echo app do?

Echo transforms your Apple Watch into a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. It allows you to broadcast your heart rate data to compatible gym equipment and a wide range of fitness applications, such as Zwift, Peloton, and iFIT. This eliminates the need for a separate chest strap.

How do I use my Apple Watch as a heart rate monitor with this app?

Once you have the app installed, you can start a workout on your Apple Watch. The app will then broadcast your heart rate via Bluetooth, allowing gym equipment or fitness apps running on another device to connect and display your real-time heart rate.

Is this app free to use?

The app offers a free trial period with 20-minute workouts. To unlock unlimited heart rate broadcasting and full functionality, you will need to upgrade to a paid version. Specific pricing details can be found within the app.

What gym equipment and apps are compatible with Echo?

Echo is compatible with various gym equipment including treadmills, indoor bikes, rowing machines, and ellipticals. It also connects to popular fitness apps like Zwift, Peloton, iFIT, NordicTrack, Echelon, Wahoo, Precor, and Life Fitness. It's important that the app you connect to runs on a device separate from your Apple Watch.

Can I track my workouts with Apple Health?

Yes, Echo can optionally save your workouts to Apple Health. This allows you to close your Activity rings, automatically save workout data, and track your heart rate trends over time. Your data is kept private and on your device.
