Tried to use their charger one time, never signed up for their subscription, but they kept charging me.

Use to like the app but looks like I’ll be using EV-go now, I was at one of their charging stations and twice it charged me $20 because the charging session couldn’t initiate until the 3rd try so it took $60 for it to start charging ever since the new update it has gone down hill I liked when we were in control of loading the account balance this is ridiculous

I been waiting over three months for an update to fix the “Favorite”! What’s going on with that?!
Hacked
Both of my credit cards I entered for use were hacked, charged and I am still fighting to get my money back. This app was the only thing that one card was ever used for. Do not give them your information
Worst Support
My car charges OK but two problems that support personnel can’t address and keep repeating themselves as broken records!
1. The SOC (state of charge) is an idiotic limitation when one is paying! Don’t tell me about congestion because other locations - Fashion Island - is always congested but doesn’t have an SOC limit!
2. Some cars get different pricing at the same level of charge than I get! As a Member+ my price was about $8 for around 8% while the car next to me was charged about $5 for 80%!

Too Expensive
I bought an EV to save money not spend more than gas costs. It literally cost more to charge here than gas would have cost. Won’t be charging here ever again unless prices are dropped.
Waste of Time and Money
I have used multiple charging stations, including Rivian, chargePoint, blink, and Electrify America(Ripp-off America) during 2 Recent Rd. trips. Electrify America is hands-down, the most expensive per kilowatt pricing and this time I decided to sign up for the $7/mo. membership, which is supposed to waive the $1 session fee and provide about a 25% discount. Started my charging session through the app, but noticed the screen was showing that I was still paying the full price plus the $1 session fee. I called Customer Service and they said that I was using a “private Electrify America station” in this very public parking lot and that the membership discount rates would not apply. Hung up the phone and immediately canceled my membership. What a waste of time and money.

They want you to put in your personal information so they’re probably gonna sell it but also it makes it longer for you to actually get your charge going and get on the road again. There’s no need for this. I should be able to just pay for the service and leave anonymously without giving all my personal information and having to authenticate three times and or sign up for their stupid subscription, that I may or may not use. If you have other options, use them.

$20 hold fee is too expensive and confusing. This app use to be great until the recent update
This app is not good anymore.
Extremely Expensive
Without a membership they are almost twice the price as other services. Will only use if I absolutely have no other choice.
Ridiculous
Removing the wallet function was one of the dumbest moves ever. Not just that, but they preauthorize you in $20 increments. It would be ok if it was like EVGo where they only preauthorize you $5 then give the $5 back at the end of the charging session. At least it’s not like some other companies that preauthorize you $50-$60 or more. I now have numerous fraud alerts and my cards have been repeatedly declined despite having funds on them (calling other transactions elsewhere “suspicious activity”). Before they started playing these games I never had any issues. The only reason I’ll use them is the gym I go to has Electrify America chargers and I can charge my car and work out at the same time. Otherwise, I will be sticking with EVGo

New app ruined my network loyalty
The updated payment process is awful and phone support is also awful. Used to be my preferred network but now avoid whenever possible.
$20 holds…
So if you attempt to start a session you will be charged $20 even if it that session doesn’t start. Every attempt you will be charged another $20 hold. Your new system is HORRIBLE!!! At the bare minimum you should have given people a choice to use your new system or still be able to fund the account with whatever amount. I will never use EA again until you reverse course and allow the funding of accounts. I know I am not alone in this, whosever brilliant idea to do it this way should be fired.

Horrible UI/UX
Ummmm why does it not let me scroll up click the X button when y’all ask me for membership. Horrible UI. Horrible UX. One of the most unpleasant user experiences I’ve had with a mobile application.
App doesn’t work
The App opens with a partially visible statement about how billing is going to change. There is no way to make the statement disappear so the App is unusable. So I cannot locate any EA charge points.
Used to be a great company now this sucks
It went from being able to add $20-$10 on your own which was a good idea because sometimes I was only able to add $10 at the moment but now it’s taken off a $20 hold on your card and let it not be an error. There goes your $20 for the next 3 to 5 business days and you have to add another $20!! Im looking for a new company to start charging my car won’t be using you all anymore.

Cannot get password reset email
The password reset email from the app never arrives. Not in junk or any other folder, it just never comes. Multiple calls to customer service fail to resolve this. There is money in the account, and I cannot use it.
Chargers not showing
No chargers are showing on the map no matter what settings you use, even tried reinstalling still nothing. How can you charge and pay if the app won’t find any chargers.
