Issues with app
Response from developer
Hi, thanks for sharing exactly what happened, it helps us more than you'd think. We appreciate you taking the 8 tests even though you faced problems. Camera errors that force a retake, plus results that don't save sounds like a bug in the app. Could you email us ask@eli.health with your account email ID, and roughly when the missing three tests happened, and we'll dig in and follow up directly. We would love to make this right for you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Poor App Experience
Response from developer
Hi, sorry the camera reader made this feel unusable instead of easy. That's not what we want anyone testing with the Hormometer to deal with. We have seen that with some troubleshooting on our side we are able to solve a majority of customer issues. Email us at ask@eli.health and we'll help you get readings and solve this for you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
False Data and Hope
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry for the frustration. This is not the experience we want for our users. One thing worth noting on the cortisol comparison: saliva and blood tests measure different things. Blood tests typically measure total cortisol (bound and free), while Eli measures only free (active) cortisol. These values are not directly comparable, so the difference in numbers does not necessarily indicate an inaccuracy. Please reach out to us at ask@eli.health if you have any other questions.
Waste of money and a scam
Response from developer
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are truly sorry for the frustration this experience has caused. Accuracy is something we take very seriously. A few things can affect scan results, including scanning before the 20-minute mark or in low-lighting conditions. Making sure those are in place can make a real difference. That said, we would love the opportunity to help you directly. Please reach out to us at ask@eli.health and our team will be happy to send replacements, offer a refund, or support you in any way we can.
First impression

Many factors can impact results between individuals and we'd love to walk through your experience with you directly. Please reach out to us at ask@eli.health so our team can make things right.
Great for tracking cortisol levels as a cyclist
Not a great experience so far
Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry for the frustration. This is not the experience we want for our users. We have recently updated our scanning experience to make it faster and more intuitive, and we hope you notice the difference. For the tests that did not develop, please reach out to us at ask@eli.health and our team will be happy to send replacements.
Easy to use
Unlike a few other reviewers, I found the product easy to use, the instructions super clear, as they walk you through the process step by step. I also appreciated getting setup instructions before the tests even arrived.
If it weren’t for the high price of the tests, I would certainly use it more often.
Very confusing
Response from developer
Thank you for sharing your experience and for taking the time to leave a review! We completely understand your concern, and we want to help clarify how the results work. Your cortisol level is determined by the intensity of the lines, rather than their position. Even when lines appear to be in the same place, subtle differences in how dark or faint they are is what determines whether your cortisol is high or low. That said, we'd love to make sure you're getting the best experience possible. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at ask@eli.health and our team will be happy to help.
Promising technology backed by a responsive, mission focused team
First, on accuracy: my Eli cortisol results have lined up with my lab-based testing. That said, I want to be clear that I would never rely on this device alone for diagnosis or treatment decisions. What it does exceptionally well is help identify when further lab testing should be explored with your doctor. For someone like me, it has also helped optimize the timing of those tests, which is genuinely valuable when you are trying to capture patterns that one-off labs often miss.
For reviewers who have had confusing or negative results: if you are managing a suspected hormone condition, I would encourage you to use this tool as one layer of a broader picture, not a standalone answer.
What sets Eli apart from other health tech is where it sits in the healthcare landscape. It bridges the gap between at-home patient monitoring and clinical lab results in a way that very few tools currently do. That gap is real and it disproportionately affects patients with complex endocrine conditions who struggle to get timely, accurate diagnoses.
Product management reached out directly to solicit my feedback and took my clinical observations seriously, and is already working to implement changes. That level of responsiveness is rare in health tech and speaks to a team that is genuinely mission-driven.
I am confident in where this product is headed and recommend it to anyone navigating hormone health, with the expectation that you use it as an informed, complementary tool alongside your care team’s guidance to reach your health goals.
Very helpful
Groundbreaking tech!
I love it!
Don’t waste your money

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we truly appreciate your honest feedback. Makes Cortisol Testing Easier
Cumbersome with questionable accuracy
Response from developer
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we truly appreciate your honest feedback. I’m sorry to hear that you had trouble capturing the photo and that your result felt difficult to trust. That’s understandably frustrating. I’d like to clarify that while our app uses advanced image analysis to read the test strip, it does not “hallucinate” or generate results. Our line detection technology is proprietary and specifically trained to measure the test strip signal. The system has been clinically validated and demonstrates 97% accuracy compared to the gold-standard laboratory method. That said, image quality can impact the reading, and we’re continuously improving the capture experience to make it easier and more reliable. That said, we’d really like to help. Please feel free to reach out to us at ask@eli.health so our team can help improve your experience or arrange a replacement kit or refund.
practically useless
Response from developer
Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. I’m really sorry for how frustrating your experience has been, that’s not the level of clarity or usability we aim to provide. We’re actively working on improving how the app handles measurements taken throughout the night, including readings after midnight. You can view your measurement values directly in the app in the Measurements tile on the cortisol screen, but we hear clearly that accessing and reviewing data over time is not meeting expectations today. Regarding Insights, they are intended to be personalized based on your readings, including suggested actions and tag trends, and we’re actively expanding this area with more meaningful, data-driven features over the coming weeks. I’ve also shared your feedback about scanning, Apple Health syncing, feedback submission, and reporting with our product and engineering teams. Thank you again for being so candid. If you’re open to it, we’d really like the chance to help. Please feel free to reach out to us at ask@eli.health so our team can help improve your experience or arrange a replacement kit or refund.
