Issues with app

I wanted this to be useful, but half of the time, there are errors when you take the picture and requests to try again later so you just continue to retake. The protocol won’t save a test result so I’ve completed 8 tests and it’s only logged 5. Very disappointing.

Poor App Experience

Don’t waste your money. The application’s use of the camera is unreliable and difficult. It makes the system unusable for readings. It is a test strip with an unreliable reader.

False Data and Hope

I am a trained scientist, had no failed tests, and followed the letter of the law. Per Eli I had depleted cortisol and a reason to explain my fatigue. I made an urgent appointment with my PCP who did a blood draw; a result of 2-3 on the device, with all other tests significantly lower, was 9.7 per standard of care blood test. Now I’ve wasted money on these devices, made my PCP think I am an idiot, and am no closer to figuring out my fatigue. Hell of an idiot tax.

Waste of money and a scam

Do not waste your money on this garbage. I took a test and scanned the same test multiple times and each time it gave a different score and it ranged from 1 (which would be the lowest I’ve had in my entire life) up to 20. This is just not possible. This platform is garbage. What a scam.

First impression

I’m impressed with this company! This test was simple and easy to do at home with both manual instructions or an app to guide.

Low confidence readings

My wife and I have each taken two readings. One when we woke up and one early afternoon. We followed the instructions in the app, and used the in-app timers. All four results were exactly the same (0.5-1.0 - low). There’s 13 years between us, and very different sleeping patterns/quality. My confidence is the accuracy of these readings very low and this feels like a wasted investment. Looking at the other reviews, our experience isn’t unique. It’s unfortunate most people won’t read these reviews prior to purchasing the test strips.

Great for tracking cortisol levels as a cyclist

My boyfriend and I use this all the time! The app is user friendly and the product is easy to use. We usually test post bike ride, so it’s insightful to see the difference in levels based on the type of ride we go out for.

Not a great experience so far

So far 50% of the tests were defective and did not register anything. The tests that did register had 2 major issues. First, taking the picture is a royal pain in the rear. Takes forever and has a real hard time registering what it’s seeing. Second issue is accuracy. I tested with Eli just before getting a test from Quest and the discrepancy was huge. Eli said I barely registered any cortisol but quest labs had me at the upper end of the normal range. I will not be ordering any more.

Easy to use

This company provides an innovative way to keep tabs on our health with a product that is easy to use. As other reviewers noted, this product is not meant to replace labs and discussions with health care providers, but it does give users an insight into the correspondence between how they are experiencing stress and how this might be reflected in a lab-like marker.

Unlike a few other reviewers, I found the product easy to use, the instructions super clear, as they walk you through the process step by step. I also appreciated getting setup instructions before the tests even arrived.

If it weren’t for the high price of the tests, I would certainly use it more often.

Very confusing

I’ve done 5 tests and although they all look the same (lines in the same place on each sample) when I take a picture one says I have high cortisol and the others say I have low cortisol. How are they differentiated? I’ve wanted to think these test could help identify my cortisol levels, but I’m doubting it now.

Promising technology backed by a responsive, mission focused team

As someone with a suspected complex hormone disorder, I have been using Eli for about a month and have completed around 20 tests. I want to share an honest, detailed review for anyone considering it, especially those who have seen mixed feedback.

First, on accuracy: my Eli cortisol results have lined up with my lab-based testing. That said, I want to be clear that I would never rely on this device alone for diagnosis or treatment decisions. What it does exceptionally well is help identify when further lab testing should be explored with your doctor. For someone like me, it has also helped optimize the timing of those tests, which is genuinely valuable when you are trying to capture patterns that one-off labs often miss.

For reviewers who have had confusing or negative results: if you are managing a suspected hormone condition, I would encourage you to use this tool as one layer of a broader picture, not a standalone answer.

What sets Eli apart from other health tech is where it sits in the healthcare landscape. It bridges the gap between at-home patient monitoring and clinical lab results in a way that very few tools currently do. That gap is real and it disproportionately affects patients with complex endocrine conditions who struggle to get timely, accurate diagnoses.

Product management reached out directly to solicit my feedback and took my clinical observations seriously, and is already working to implement changes. That level of responsiveness is rare in health tech and speaks to a team that is genuinely mission-driven.

I am confident in where this product is headed and recommend it to anyone navigating hormone health, with the expectation that you use it as an informed, complementary tool alongside your care team’s guidance to reach your health goals.

Very helpful

App was very easy to use! I had no problem lining the test up with the camera. After using the test over 20 times, I started to see a trend and learned how my body responds to stress.

Groundbreaking tech!

Beautiful app, makes it convenient and simple to measure cortisol levels and track hormone health over time.

I love it!

I love measuring my cortisol levels, lets me get a head start on the day with data driven insights. I’ve been doing this every day for the last 3 months and it’s game changing!

Don’t waste your money

The app does not work as advertised. I followed all instructions perfectly and I have a brand new iPhone and the image does not capture. This app is trash.

Makes Cortisol Testing Easier

Eli Health contacted me to see if they could help me use their cortisol test. Morgane and Lena stepped me through the process. It took a while for the iPhone to detect the QR code, but after it did, the process was smooth. Thanks Eli Health for people like Morgane and Lena! :-)

Cumbersome with questionable accuracy

Took me a while to take an acceptable photo and the cortisol readings that I got seem very questionable if they are accurate. I got an extremely low wierd out of range reading . I realized later that AI is being used based on the photo to give the cortisol readings . There is no way to know for sure if it’s an accurate reading or just AI hallucinations due to a poor photo . Save yourself the guesswork and get a blood test. Will not order again . Can’t do much with results I can’t trust

practically useless

There is so much wrong with this app. If you take an evening reading after midnight it treats it as if it's the next mornings reading. There doesn't seem to be any way to adjust this. After taking a reading you need to take a screenshot because there doesn't seem to be any way to just look at your numbers in the app. It links with apple health but none of the reading values are showing up. The camera based scanning is terrible with needing to get the QR code just the exact distance away. Too close by a few millimeters and the camera loses focus, too far and it can't read the code. You have to retry several times for it to pick up the bars properly. You can create a report but then you have to send it someplace, you can't just display it. I saw insights and I assumed it would be insights into my readings, nope it is just a bunch of blog posts. The submit feedback function just spins forever until you give up and back out. I wanted two things from this app, take a reading and list the actual number measurements with times in a table. It just barely manages the first and fails at the second. I definitely won't be buying any more of these tests.

Being able to see my cortisol helps me better manage by day to day. I love it.
