Poorly thought through process
Initial set up is slightly challenging however, if you ever need to replace your charging hardware, there is no way to do this through the app or on their website. Their Chatbot online is almost useless, and there is no phone number to call.
What was in the notification?
When the power company announces a peak event, the ev.energy app produces a notification mentioning as much. Often this notification truncated but clicking on the notification just opens an app where you cannot read what was in the notification anymore while also clearing the notification from the iOS Notification Center. The app needs to have a message center where notifications can be read after the fact.

Beyond pointless
This app came with a Rolec charger and has never been much use. Today it has gone beyond useless and is now preventing me from charging my car.
It is useless because I am on an Economy 7 tariff and my solar panels feed directly to the grid. The so-called ‘smart’ settings don’t save me money. They just mean I can’t be sure my car will be charged when I want it.
The only use I ever found for the smart settings on the app is the holiday lock. That’s because the Rolec charger has no lock and the app is the only way I can stop passers by from borrowing my electricity when I’m away.
But today, when I got home from my holiday, the app failed to operate at all.
I have tried updating it, reloading it, rebooting my phone. All to no avail.
Now have a useless app and a useless home charger.
Any advice?

Easy to use and save a lot of money
Completely unreliable
Download this app if you like gambling. Sometimes it works so well you forget it is there. Other times, you wake up to find the car hasn’t charged and you’re in trouble. It is a complete lottery.
