Unfair practice
Absolutely terrible experience. I cancelled my subscription months ago. I recently logged in just to look around, and Factor automatically reactivated my subscription without asking for my consent. When I contacted customer support, I was told that’s just how their system works. That’s an unacceptable way to treat customers. I also wasn’t impressed with the food quality. I’ll never use Factor again and wouldn’t recommend it.

Inconsistent Pricing
They don’t often display the correct price so you’ll get charged more than the app or website displays. Support will refuse to help and endlessly deflect.
Love Factor but the App is Trash
Seriously… when you apply a coupon/offer, it alters your subscription (it went from 8 meals to 12). When you manage to pick your meals using filtering (like saying no fish), it removes what’s already in your cart. When I finally managed to pick this week’s meals, upon review, there were 8 random meals in my cart that I never clicked on. The app had promise, but between pop up reminders and various widgets you have to dismiss or click past, the best Factor experience is on an actual computer.

Scammy Subscription Model
They automatically sign you up for a subscription which cannot be cancelled 5 days ahead of time. 5 DAYS?? are you kidding me?? horrible app navigation, and pops up with ads for spending even more on the meals every time i try to swap pages. Not very well designed, scummy business model. The food is fine, but not worth the price and hassle.

Buggy onboarding. Failed to deliver first ever order.
I signed up for Factor last week, with my first order scheduled to arrive on Aug 4th. The experience on both the mobile and and desktop web browser was quite bigger and I had to go through the process of selecting meals multiple times, with it constantly writing and refreshing with none of my selections saved. I eventually figured out this was because one meal I was selecting was “sold out” despite being available to select on multiple devices. Factor also pre-selected 6 meals when o said I wanted one meal per day Mon-Fri, which I assumed was just the minimum. Only after selecting all my meals for the week did I find I could manually adjust the plan settings down to 5 meals, but again, every attempt to save this resulted in an error, so I manually dropped each individual week’s delivery (minus the first one which had already been scheduled) down to 5 instead, again hitting multiple save errors throughout. I never received any email about my shipment, but the app confirmed that my order for 4 Aug had shipped. At 9pm after still not receiving that delivery, I contacted support who told me my first order was for Aug 10. When I shared a screenshot of my “shipped” confirmation for the 4th, they said it was an app notification glitch and that my first order would be on the 10th. I cancelled instead as this left a very negative first impression and I don’t have any trust in the service.
