The company went out of business I already had all my travel plans booked picked the most affordable airlines and still nothing. We are about to fly home and the claim is still under final review!
I’ve called to check on it, but just stuck waiting and out a LOT of money for the insurance & new tickets!
Bought Insurance, Got No Help When I Needed It
My VRBO reservation in Venice was canceled by the host on the day of check-in, leaving me stranded and forced to find emergency accommodations at a significantly higher cost. This is exactly the type of situation most travelers believe travel insurance is meant to help with.
I submitted a claim immediately. On May 15, I was told the claim was in the “finalization stage.” After another follow-up, I was told on May 26 that I should expect a resolution by the end of the week. Despite these assurances, I continued waiting for updates.
After weeks of review and repeated follow-ups, the claim was ultimately denied because a host canceling a vacation rental is apparently not considered a covered event under the policy.
What disappointed me most was not just the denial, but the lengthy claims process and lack of transparency. If the policy clearly excludes this type of situation, that determination could have been communicated much earlier instead of keeping customers waiting while being told the claim was nearing completion.
Travelers should carefully read the fine print and understand that even if a vacation rental host cancels your reservation on the day of arrival and you incur substantial unexpected expenses, coverage may still be denied.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Faye Travel Protection.

We truly go the distance to make sure those traveling with Faye benefit from our whole-trip protection to the fullest. Unfortunately in this case, we were unable to reimburse you as the circumstances at hand (which we won’t share publicly for privacy purposes) prohibited us from doing so. We apologize for the delay in responding to your claim. Our #1 priority is top-notch service and we never want to fall short of that. We are really sorry to hear this was your experience. If there is anything more you’d like to share, please email my team at Feedback@withfaye.com - Jeff, VP of Claims at Faye

While traveling in a remote area of Egypt, I suffered a devastating fall from a high ledge that resulted in serious injuries requiring spinal surgery, as well as surgeries to my lower leg and foot. The logistics alone of handling a medical emergency in a remote foreign location are overwhelming to even imagine — but Faye immediately stepped in and took charge with professionalism, compassion, and extraordinary efficiency.
What impressed me most was not just that they “covered” the situation, but how deeply they cared about my wellbeing every step of the way. They even arranged for a doctor to travel from Cairo to personally escort me back to Cairo safely, where I remained for the next three weeks recovering before they coordinated my return home.
Throughout the entire ordeal, I felt supported, protected, and genuinely cared for. Every moving part (medical coordination, transportation, communication, logistics) was handled with remarkable attention and humanity.
When people hear the story of my “adventure,” I always make a point to emphasize my gratitude to Faye. In a moment of true crisis, they provided what felt like premium, world-class care, and I honestly do not know what I would have done without them.
I would recommend Faye Travel Insurance without hesitation.

Fine, here’s your 1-star review.
I proceeded with the deletion. The app didn’t log me out. So I did it again. Same thing. I manually logged out. Months later, no confirmation has been sent to me from their support team indicating that deletion occurred. So I emailed their support team to inquire if my account was deleted. They promptly replied and said they’d look into it. (I don’t know how hard it is to simply validate if my account exists or not, but whatever.) Days later, I get a cryptic email from Faye’s privacy team stating that they will share my info with 3rd parties to fulfill their services, that they’ll use my personal info only when I ask, and that they’ll remove me from marketing lists. They linked me to their privacy policy. No mention of account deletion or data deletion. So yeah…This is what I’m told after I made an account/data deletion request. My read on their reply: they *didn’t* delete my account and the law allows them to trade my information to third parties and there’s nothing I can do about it. So I replied to their privacy team at the address which sent this email and received an automated email indicating that the email address was “deactivated.” I then emailed the support team to ask what’s going on and they haven’t replied yet after several days.
Even worse, I can’t independently validate whether my account was deleted because Faye uses a horrible UI pattern on their login: a unified “login / signup” interface that relies on password‑less authentication. You type your email, receive a one‑time code, and enter it to gain access. The problem is that this flow provides no way to confirm whether an existing account still exists.
- If an account already exists, the code logs you in and you can view your data.
- If the account *has been deleted*, the same code simply creates a *new* account automatically (which I obviously don’t want.)
I want to verify deletion without unintentionally recreating an account, but this unified UI pattern makes it impossible. The support team could answer this question for me if they wanted to, but thus far I’m being ghosted by them.
Do NOT use Faye if you value your privacy and want control over your own data.
