I’ve only had this bank for about a month but it’s easy and convenient. They have really helped me.

Too Much Animation — Slow to Open

The Fifth Third mobile app takes noticeably too long to load when I first open it. There seems to be too much animation and unnecessary visual activity during startup before I can actually access my banking information. My app is up to date; however, I’m not sure whether anyone else experiences a delay where the savings account appears before the checking account when more than one account is linked.

I use several other banking apps on the same device, and they open almost immediately. A banking app should prioritize speed and quick access over animated loading screens. I would like to see Fifth Third streamline the startup process and improve overall loading performance.

One question worth considering: Does the checking account eventually appear after several seconds, or do you sometimes have to refresh or reopen the app? If it’s the latter, that would make the review stronger because it suggests more than just a cosmetic loading delay.

Open a bank account

I went to the Naperville south location and Sabrina was so friendly and knowledgeable she is great!

mobile banking

mobile app very easy to use

Not happy

After they changed the portal, I have nothing but Problems paying my mortgage. Something that should be easy to do. Even trying to charge me late fees even though they knew they were having problems with the portal. Was completely on me to solve the problem after phone call after phone call after phone call and even stopping in the bank. I still had problems. Finally got to the right person on the phone who gave me the right answer to fix my account after the portal change. Absolutely ridiculous.

External account transfer

The technology is garbage and customer service was terrible providing help. Waste of my time. External transfer of funds into account failed to work. Horrible technology in this day and time of online and remote banking

Above average banking app

Account review overall is good. Bill pay however needs work. Limit of $10,000 payment to any individual company leaves me entering in multiple payments each month to the same entity. Also have a mortgage that now reroutes me to a different site which is annoying. Don’t know why you changed this?

Poor notification alerts cost me more than the relationship is worth

I have all alerts enabled and somehow I don’t get anything when my account is overdraft. I’ve gotten hit with a $35 fee for the last SIX MONTHS. Predatory companies like this have access to my money for their gain and pull stuff like this.

Very bad bank to use

This bank offers a extra time feature to avoid overdraft fees however the system is very flawed and will assess overdraft fees even after making deposits to cover the negative balance. Trying to dispute their erroneous overdraft fees is a nightmare.
