Great App for International Transfers, but Watch Out for Speed

I recently started using the Fin.do money transfer app, and overall, I’ve been impressed with its ease of use and reliability. The interface is clean and user-friendly, making it simple to send money to friends and family overseas without any hassle. The transfer process is generally smooth, and I appreciate the various payment methods available.

That said, there are a couple of downsides. The exchange rates tend to be a bit on the higher side compared to some other services, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re transferring larger amounts. Also, while the app advertises quick transfers, the money doesn’t always arrive instantly. It usually takes 1 to 2 days for the funds to reach the recipient, which can be a little inconvenient if you need the transfer to be faster.

Despite these few drawbacks, I still find Fin.do to be a solid choice for international money transfers and would recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use option.

My Go-To App for transferring overseas

I came across Fin.do 2 years ago while trying to figure a way out to transfer an amount overseas. Since then I have always used only this one app. It is very convenient and lets you transfer with your credit card to any card or bank account overseas. The interface is extremely transparent and simple to use. More robust than its already strong interface is its support team. Of course there have been hiccups in the past two years but each and every single time the support from their team is par excellence. I have never seen such a strong and helpful team ever even in the bigger established products that I have used. I really vouch for this app and trust me, they won’t let you down.

Hidden fees and unfair fraud flagging

I used Fin.do to send €80 and was shown a total of $87.36 (including commission). But my card was actually charged $92.66 — that’s $5.30 more, including a hidden $2.70 international fee that was never shown in the app. Because I had to guess the right euro amount multiple times (due to unclear cost breakdown), my account was even blocked for “fraud suspicion” — just for trying to complete a transaction. I was made to feel like I did something wrong, when in fact the app misled me. Not transparent, not fair.

Banned for life because I used an old card

TLDR: Fin.do looks good on the surface but if anything goes wrong you are in big trouble. Their customer support does not listen to reason and has a ‘computer says no’ response to any queries.

My story: I registered with Fin.do and tried to make a payment with a card in my Apple wallet (Fin.do defaults to this). By mistake, I choose a debit card I’d cancelled a few weeks back. Instead of just displaying an error that the card could not be used, Fin.do asked me to prove ownership of the cancelled card. This is impossible as all bank statements obscure the full card number and I obviously don’t have the physical card.

I asked them to delete the card and they said that’s impossible as they can’t access customer accounts. Ok, so I suggested we delete my account and start again which they agreed to. When I created a new account and provided ID there was a wait of a few days. I then chased their customer support and was told I was not allowed to create a new account and would be banned from the platform for life.

Obviously fin.do have a duty to prevent card fraud but the card had already been cancelled and should not even have been possible to start a transaction with. Their customer support were rude and unprofessional and treated me like a criminal.

Account issues

Well since I was using this app start from this year but from last 2 months I’m facing issues with transfer it’s been cancelled all the time and now last night my account is blocked for no reason

Can’t delete card

Doesn’t allow for cards to be deleted until my account is verified but I can’t verify my account.

Sanctions

Sanctions against regular people that have nothing to do with these conflicts.

Bad support and user experience

Why you showing a message to the user that card cannot be added when you are not supporting US cards? This issue was mentioned a year ago, why it is not fixed? Why respond takes 3 days? Are you even care about your Customers?
