DO NOT PURCHASE THIS

I bought this Pilates board for the price expecting that the “yearly subscription” included in the purchase price was just that. Only to be charged $230 two weeks later. The app itself also sucks. Do not fall for this scam.

Tricky

The only way they would ever get anyone to sign up for a year subscription of the app is by sneaking into the fine print of a “14 day free trial”. The app sucks.
The board itself took 5 days to deliver which counted towards the 14 days of free trial. The board delivered while I was out of town and I didn’t have a chance to try it before the yearly subscription charge hit.
The board itself is great for at home workouts.

SCAM

I wanted the portable reformer but not the app subscription. I’m charged without any consent and no one is responding to my emails and calls. This is a scam approach. I will report fraud on my account if I don’t hear back after the 4th attempt at emailing (same thread follow ups) in the last month, and also report to BBB.

Misleading Subscription Practices and questionable product

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Flo Pilates.

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to leave a negative review for a product I purchased, which says a lot about how frustrating this experience has been.

I purchased the Pilates reformer, which came with what was advertised as a 14-day free trial of the app. I reasonably expected the trial to begin when I received the reformer and was actually able to use it. Instead, the 14-day trial started on the date I placed the order, meaning a significant portion of the trial had already expired before the reformer even arrived.

What made the experience even more frustrating was that there was no option to decline the app subscription. Flo automatically used the same credit card I used to purchase the reformer to charge me $121 for an annual subscription. I would never have knowingly authorized that charge. The entire process felt misleading and lacked transparency.

The app itself was also disappointing. The workouts seem to assume that every user already has Pilates experience. As a beginner, I found the instructions difficult to follow, with very little guidance on proper form, positioning, or how to use the reformer safely and effectively. There is little consideration for people who are completely new to Pilates, despite the fact that many customers purchasing a home reformer are likely beginners.

To make matters worse, the reformer I received appears to have been previously used. It arrived with scratches, and there were loose pieces in the box with no explanation of where they came from or whether anything was missing. That was very disappointing for a product sold as new.

I have decided to return the reformer, but I first need to figure out how to speak with someone. Flo does not appear to have a customer service phone number, and I could not find clear instructions on how to initiate a return. It is incredibly frustrating to spend this much money and have no straightforward way to get assistance.

Overall, the lack of transparency around the app subscription, the condition of the product I received, the beginner-unfriendly app, and the poor customer support have left me with a very negative impression. I hope Flo improves its billing practices, quality control, customer support, and creates a much more user-friendly experience for beginners and new customers.

No customer service

I would give them a zero stars if I couldI purchased the Flo Pilates reformer for my wife. The resistance bands broke on her first work out. The contact page on their website has chat bot that says you will be contacted by email to help with the problem. Three time I attempted that still have not heard form the company. Found an email address on their app. Sent an email two weeks ago still no reply. They have no listed phone number, a phone number found on google does work.

Difficult to Follow

I want to start by saying I like the reformer itself. The app and videos could use some work. Yes, I’ve read the responses to the reviews of others, saying how it is structured, but the criticism remains the same. Verbal countdowns really should be added, as it is difficult to hold the position, etc, and pay attention at the same time. Additionally despite some of the videos being listed as for beginners, they are clearly not. If they truly were there would be clearer instructions and guidance for correct forms itself. I wish I had canceled before the trial period had ended, but that is on me. I’ve found much better instruction via Youtube for free.

Be Careful

This Company charged my account for a full year subscription after an "alleged" free trial that I was never notified when it started let alone when it ended.
you write to them and no one answers for weeks and when they finally do they refused to refund me for a charge I NEVER AUTHORIZED.
The product is ok I guess but not worth the stress.

Misleading ads

Ads mention a free companion app…which yes, the app is free, but you can’t even watch the set up guide without a subscription!

Not for the price

I paid for the reformer and they somehow snuck in a subscription with Shopify on me. When I went to Shopify to manage said subscription, I didn’t have an account…that is sketchy. The videos in the app itself are fine, but if you are a beginner, the instructors are not there to talk you through it all. They are only there to “show” you, and they don’t have very good form themselves. So you’ll get a ten minute video of the person exercising with you. It’s 2026 and I ain’t paying $150 annually for that. I do like my little reformer board, which is all I wanted in the first place. Suck it “Flo”.

This is a scam.

Mat good, app bad

Sneaky sneaky! They send you a link to access the app before you receive the product which decreases your time for the free trial. Afterwards, it’s difficult to figure out how to prevent the $118 annual charge. You have to go to their website to have a link sent to you and after that you can cancel if you say you’d like to cancel about 7 times.

I received the mat in great condition and I like using it. However, the classes on the app could really use some improvement. For beginners classes, rather than jumping immediately into each exercise could we get some detail on proper form? Or at the very least, better vocal cues for when the exercise has us facing away from the phone holder?

Also, the redundant nature of “do this for one minute” into “break for one minute” feels like wasted time. Half the time, after the break to start the new exercise you need to have the mat set up differently. Why not specify that on the screen instead of a timer?

Response from developer

Hi Criseratops, Thank you for sharing your feedback. Flo’s app access begins with a 14-day free trial linked to the account used at checkout, and subscription details are provided during the checkout process. Flo workouts are designed as guided, instructor-led sessions, with regular updates focused on enhancing the overall training experience. Do not buy from them

Updated: it has now been two months, and I have not received the refund for the app that I was promised by the company. I have had to reach out multiple times and they continue to give me the runaround saying that there was errors made on their end. As of this day, these “errors” have not been fixed, and I still have not received my refund.

Save yourself a headache and do not buy from them. They start the 14 day “ free app trial” before you even receive the equipment. And then proceed to charge you before you are even able to use the free trial. Anytime you attempt to contact them you are met with AI responses and no ability to contact a real person. I have ordered my stuff over two weeks ago and it still has not been received but I have been charged.

We’re really sorry for the frustration, this isn’t the experience we want you to have. Please email us at hello@pilatesflo.com with your order details, and we’ll review this urgently and make it right.

Would not recommend!!!

The app is the most basic usability and makes you feel rushed and chaotic during the workout. To start when viewing a workout, you cannot see what is in the workout and you have no way to prepare once you start the beginning stretch sessions are maybe 10 to 20 seconds with incredibly long rest breaks afterwards. Would’ve been nice if they increased the length of time of the stretch stretching to adequately warm you up. Then the workouts quickly move on to moves without body set up guidance or even a heads up at what next exercise is. While the activity timer is running, you spend time watching the move then setting up missing the time to actually focus on form. You constantly feel behind. I’m having to pause and play hindering flow and interrupting my breathing. There is no audible warnings about switching sides, time left, or a countdown to end. The instructor gives no feedback about form to focus on. These workouts appear like they were put together on PowerPoint with a cheesy Flo Logo transition slide.

Better workouts on YouTube

The workouts are lacking. There is so little explanation that you need to first watch the move, which sometimes involves putting different accessories on the reformer, then rewind so you can start that segment over and be ready to go. This always happens after a 30 second break. It would “flo” better if that time was used to explain upcoming moves and equipment needed. At least one workout said something along the lines of looking up good form. For a paid service the instructors should be able to provide that. The 30 second breaks after moves like child’s pose feel unnecessary. For me it’s not worth it. I can’t recommend it.

My biggest complaint is that I’m unable to cancel my subscription. I didn’t see that option in the app, but I did see the option to delete my account and did so thinking it’d solve the problem. I continued to get charged. I’ve emailed but I’ve just gotten replies from a bot saying it can’t help me but will escalate and I’ll hear from a representative in 24 hours. It’s been 5 days. It did tell me how to cancel my subscription on the website, but I had already deleted my account so it is not working.

So much potential, so little content

I was super excited for the portable reformer. Unfortunately the app is very limited. There’s no audible que when moving between exercise and rest, which means you must always have eyes on your phone screen - which is tough when in certain poses. The search is terrible, and the selection of classes is so small. Better workouts on YouTube.

Major Letdown

Uff. We are off to a bad start. There is no way to view or leave a review on the Flo Pilates website. I remembered I had received an email from Nicole, the founder, asking me to leave a review. In the email, you tap the number of stars for the review you want to leave. When I selected 3, it took me to a webpage that said "Check your inbox. If your order is found, we'll email you a link to review it." Surprise, surprise - no link was sent for me to submit a review. HOWEVER, when I went back to the same initial email and selected 5 stars, it immediately took me to the Trustpilot.com webpage to leave a review. Major scammy energy going on.

OK - here's my HONEST review, from someone who paid money for this device. Background: I am a busy mom of three littles who works full time. Pilates is my favorite form of exercise, but I have not been able to make it to the studio for a few years due to my schedule and obligations. I REALLY miss reformer classes and was super excited to find Flo.

PROS:
- The price of the reformer and app are reasonable.
- The reformer is really fun to use!
- The app has a clean layout.

CONS:

CONS - CLASSES:
- The selection of classes in the app seems pretty minimal.
- There are no classes specifically tailored to the pro portable reformer, that I have found. The FAQ on the website states otherwise. When I contacted chat (AI bot) and later through email support, it was confirmed that there "At the moment, there are only a limited number of resources available specifically for the Pro model. The good news is that the workouts in the Portable Reformer section are fully compatible with the Portable Reformer pro. The movement patterns and exercises are the same, so you can continue following those classes with your Pro reformer." So, why did I pay extra for the additional accessories for the Pro if there are no classes that include them and the regular portable reformer accessories are set up and used slightly differently than my reformer? False advertising.
- Pilates is so much about form. It was surprising and disappointing to me that the instructors talk VERY little about form. They start the classes with minimal instructions and do not talk through the exercises. Luckily I have some experience taking reformer classes and understand in-person classes are different, but this seems negligent.
- Also, the classes state "modifications available," but no modifications are listed or discussed.

CONS - SUBSCRIPTION:
- The website advertises a 14-day free trial of the app. However, they started trying to charge my card only 11 days after I had ORDERED the reformer (I paid with Klarna, so the app purchase did not go through). At this point, I had only had the reformer for three days.
- Additionally, there is no monthly app subscription plan. They were attempting to charge my card (Klarna) for $117 for the year, after I hadn't even gotten a chance to use it. When I tried searching for the monthly subscription so I don't have to commit to something I don't know if I will use for a year, it does not exist. If you try to purchase the yearly subscription through the app, it's $149 plus tax, I'm not sure where the $117 rate came from - even when applying a discount code, I paid $128 on the website for the yearly subscription.

CONS - REFORMER:
- There is no comprehensive setup or intro video. The 35-second intro video on the app goes really fast and is only for the basic (not pro) version of the portable reformer.
- The most annoying/difficult part about using the reformer is that the gliders do not glide smoothly over the line where the reformer folds. Depending on the exercise, this can range from mildly annoying to making the exercise very difficult or frustrating.
- Additionally, when you attach the accessories on the ends, the ends lift up slightly. This is mostly annoying from what I have found and there are workarounds, but makes it feel cheap and not well thought-out. I'm not sure yet how much this will impact the effectiveness of the workouts.
- The timer on the reformer is useless - I'm actually not sure what it is for and it makes annoying beeping sounds. The classes have a built-in timer, so there's no need for a timer on the reformer. Maybe if there was a setup video to explain its use, I would understand better.

I'm not sure if I will keep going with this because I am excited to have found an alternative to in-person reformer classes or not, but have a feeling that the 99-day hassle-free returns aren't so hassle-free (and saw in an email that, although the website says 99 days, the email states 30 days?).

Awful.

Really sad as I’m a user of the Flo Pilates board and love it. I have found the app to be glitchy, poor quality and definitely not worth the $100 I paid and can’t refund now. Stick to using online content creator material on YouTube. This is a huge waste of money.

Dishonest Company

Do not download this app or buy their equipment unless you want an unauthorized $140 charge. They used tiny print during the purchase to indicate a "two-week trial" that converts into a yearly subscription ($140.12) without any warning or notification. I reached out the second I saw the email, and they claimed a refund no is "impossible." Instead of doing the right thing, they offered me a free upgrade to quote VIP quote and a gift card and a small partial refund and are ignoring my repeated request for an immediate and full refund for something I did not authorize. It’s a shame because the product itself is nice, but the team behind it is dishonest. Stay far away.

6/2026: Updated to add that I received a refund after placing a stop payment on my credit card and threatening to call the BBB. It should not need to come to that.

Also, you should display the text more prominently when it’s going to result in a large charge and commitment on the part of your customers. It was like a size 4 font hidden in between normal font- just unacceptable and dishonest. Do better.

Was better before last update

The first recent update was way better than this last one. Missing the library of individual moves. Missing about 3 of the best booty classes. I don’t get why updating an already good thing. Fix those things and you would have a 5 from me.

App Revie

This review is for the App, and only the App. The portable reformer is just fine. Their app, however, is not user-friendly. It makes me go through the set up every other day, where I pick out what my goals are and how many days a week I can commit. They also got rid of the “workouts” tab where you could find an individual exercise and practice it. I enjoyed using those to add on to classes. Maybe the class didn’t include push ups or Russian twists; I could find that individual exercise and start up the video, follow along, and add that to my daily routine. Now nothing of the sort. I don’t know why they updated and got rid of it. I also don’t know why all classes now start with a 30-second pause where I need to click “ready” or “need more time.” If I’m clicking on the class and hitting “start class,” I’m obviously ready to start. You’re adding more buttons to press and more pages to navigate that are wholly unnecessary. Bring back the “exercises” tab and let us customize the videos on the homepage; I’m tired of being rec’ed workouts for postpartum when I’ve never had kids.

Horrible

One of the worst customer services team I’ve ever dealt with. Their AI bots do nothing, and their social media manager doesn’t help either. Still waiting for a response from them.
