Mat good, app bad

Sneaky sneaky! They send you a link to access the app before you receive the product which decreases your time for the free trial. Afterwards, it’s difficult to figure out how to prevent the $118 annual charge. You have to go to their website to have a link sent to you and after that you can cancel if you say you’d like to cancel about 7 times.

I received the mat in great condition and I like using it. However, the classes on the app could really use some improvement. For beginners classes, rather than jumping immediately into each exercise could we get some detail on proper form? Or at the very least, better vocal cues for when the exercise has us facing away from the phone holder?

Also, the redundant nature of “do this for one minute” into “break for one minute” feels like wasted time. Half the time, after the break to start the new exercise you need to have the mat set up differently. Why not specify that on the screen instead of a timer?

Do not buy from them

Updated: it has now been two months, and I have not received the refund for the app that I was promised by the company. I have had to reach out multiple times and they continue to give me the runaround saying that there was errors made on their end. As of this day, these “errors” have not been fixed, and I still have not received my refund.

Save yourself a headache and do not buy from them. They start the 14 day “ free app trial” before you even receive the equipment. And then proceed to charge you before you are even able to use the free trial. Anytime you attempt to contact them you are met with AI responses and no ability to contact a real person. I have ordered my stuff over two weeks ago and it still has not been received but I have been charged.

We’re really sorry for the frustration, this isn’t the experience we want you to have. Please email us at hello@pilatesflo.com with your order details, and we’ll review this urgently and make it right.

Would not recommend!!!

The app is the most basic usability and makes you feel rushed and chaotic during the workout. To start when viewing a workout, you cannot see what is in the workout and you have no way to prepare once you start the beginning stretch sessions are maybe 10 to 20 seconds with incredibly long rest breaks afterwards. Would’ve been nice if they increased the length of time of the stretch stretching to adequately warm you up. Then the workouts quickly move on to moves without body set up guidance or even a heads up at what next exercise is. While the activity timer is running, you spend time watching the move then setting up missing the time to actually focus on form. You constantly feel behind. I’m having to pause and play hindering flow and interrupting my breathing. There is no audible warnings about switching sides, time left, or a countdown to end. The instructor gives no feedback about form to focus on. These workouts appear like they were put together on PowerPoint with a cheesy Flo Logo transition slide.

Dishonest Company

Do not download this app or buy their equipment unless you want an unauthorized $140 charge. They used tiny print during the purchase to indicate a "two-week trial" that converts into a yearly subscription ($140.12) without any warning or notification. I reached out the second I saw the email, and they claimed a refund no is "impossible." Instead of doing the right thing, they offered me a free upgrade to quote VIP quote and a gift card and a small partial refund and are ignoring my repeated request for an immediate and full refund for something I did not authorize. It’s a shame because the product itself is nice, but the team behind it is dishonest. Stay far away.

6/2026: Updated to add that I received a refund after placing a stop payment on my credit card and threatening to call the BBB. It should not need to come to that.

Also, you should display the text more prominently when it’s going to result in a large charge and commitment on the part of your customers. It was like a size 4 font hidden in between normal font- just unacceptable and dishonest. Do better.

Was better before last update

The first recent update was way better than this last one. Missing the library of individual moves. Missing about 3 of the best booty classes. I don’t get why updating an already good thing. Fix those things and you would have a 5 from me.

App Revie

This review is for the App, and only the App. The portable reformer is just fine. Their app, however, is not user-friendly. It makes me go through the set up every other day, where I pick out what my goals are and how many days a week I can commit. They also got rid of the “workouts” tab where you could find an individual exercise and practice it. I enjoyed using those to add on to classes. Maybe the class didn’t include push ups or Russian twists; I could find that individual exercise and start up the video, follow along, and add that to my daily routine. Now nothing of the sort. I don’t know why they updated and got rid of it. I also don’t know why all classes now start with a 30-second pause where I need to click “ready” or “need more time.” If I’m clicking on the class and hitting “start class,” I’m obviously ready to start. You’re adding more buttons to press and more pages to navigate that are wholly unnecessary. Bring back the “exercises” tab and let us customize the videos on the homepage; I’m tired of being rec’ed workouts for postpartum when I’ve never had kids.

Horrible

One of the worst customer services team I’ve ever dealt with. Their AI bots do nothing, and their social media manager doesn’t help either. Still waiting for a response from them.

“Free” lifetime subscription for 108.41/year

Fraudulent company with false advertising.
Never needed this subscription, just wanted to get a machine and got “lifetime subscription” automatically added to the order. 2 weeks later I got charged over $100 for the app. Absolutely ridiculous!!

Feeling Scammed by Subscription

We have been trying to link the subscription purchase to my wife for 2 weeks now as the equipment and subscription was purchased as a gift. The service team is unable and borderline unwilling to help. We have been told to log out and log back in on several different occasions as a resolution which has never worked. The app is beginning to feel like more of a scam than anything.

Fraudulent Business Practices

UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM THE DEVELOPER: I’m well aware that NOW the app runs a 14-day free trial, followed by the option to PAY for a subscription, and that NOW, the subscription options are shown at checkout. If you’d taken the time to *actually* read my review, you’d have seen I didn’t say anything to the contrary. But, to reiterate, WHEN I PURCHASED MY REFORMER IN THE SUMMER OF 2025, Flo Pilates ADVERTISED the reformer as INCLUDING FREE LIFETIME ACCESS TO THE APP. At which time, I was given FREE access to the app for a period of time FAR EXCEEDING 2 weeks. Then, SOMETIME LATER, I was locked completely out of the app and given the prompt to purchase a subscription. I will also reiterate - advertising something as FREE WITH PURCHASE and then requiring payment LATER is fraudulent advertising and marketing. Flo Pilates is a terrible company, with terrible customer service, toast does not take any accountability for what they did. They simply play dumb and repeat over and over “the app has a 14-day trial and then is a paid subscription.” Which has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING I said. I would give them negative stars if I could. Don’t take my word for it. . . Just google. And read the reviews here. You’ll find tons of comments and reviews just like mine.

The app is fine, but at the time of purchase, Flo Pilates advertised “Free LIFETIME access to the app and workouts.” At some point after my purchase, they switched so no you are required to have a monthly subscription ($9.99/month) in order to access ANY workouts. All customer service says is that “it states during checkout that a subscription is required after a 14-day free trial.” Yes, NOW at checkout it says that. It did NOT say that at the time of my purchase, and instead said “Free lifetime access to workouts in the app.” They know they do this. There are tons of reviews and posts on the internet stating the same.

Hi, Flo operates on a subscription model with a 14-day free trial, followed by a monthly plan for continued access. Details are shown at checkout and in the App Store or Google Play listing. We’ve shared your feedback on pricing clarity with the team for review. Jeff Adams, our Customer Success Manager, will personally call you to review your account directly.

SCAM

This company is a scam, do NOT purchase anything from them. They will charge your card without your permission and there is virtually no way to get in touch with them for a refund or cancellation. You have to cancel your card in order to stop being charged by them. There isn’t even a phone number to call customer service.

Works 50% of the Time

I have a lot of complaints about this app.
1. 98% of the time when I open it, which I do daily, it tells me there’s an update and won’t show me the workouts until I update it. There’s never an update, and I open and close it 10 times until it finally works.
2. Tell me what equipment I need BEFORE the workout. Other apps will have a little “Equipment needed: x,y,z” listed with the workout and it’s always the first thing the instructor should say.
3. There needs to be cues as to when your minute stops. Not everyone is looking at the screen.
4. In the cool down time between moves, show a picture of the next move so we can get our mat set up, I constantly have to pause or restart because I’m spending valuable time getting set up.
5. In some of the workouts, the instructor will only workout one side, so I have to do the other side after the workout is over.

Waste of money

I purchased the app for workout guides to go with my reformer as I liked what I’d found on YouTube but wanted more variety and a one stop shop. I was unable to use the free trial before expiration due so purchased it with the assumption that they’d be an easy way for me to get direction on actual routines to get in shape. The “program”options are awful. Boring, repetitive, and most including as much rest time as actual activity. The 10-min options I tried were literally half rest time and included the same easy that weren’t a challenge at all despite me being out of shape. The section called “workouts” are just one minute demos of individual exercises rather than something you can follow along without having to keep fussing with finding other things to make your own sequence. Hugely overpriced and I really regret shelling out for it when the free YouTube options are way better.

App doesn’t work

I’ve tried to make an account and it won’t get past the loading screen but then tells me I have an account but I haven’t received an email to activate said account.
I deleted it and redownloaded and tried customer support with no luck. Not being able to use the app makes it a little useless for someone who’s never done Pilates before. I was looking forward to the follow along videos.
Months later, tried talking to someone again only to get no help.
I tried to redownload and make a new account with still no luck.

FRADULENT

I bought their pilates board, and they have charged my card $98 for a yearly subscription I did not sign up for! I did not even plan to use their app. I request an immediate refund.

Don’t waste your time

One minute Pilates? Such a waste of my time. If you are going to CHARGE $98 there should be substantial workouts to complete, not one minute, what a joke. I actually feel very frauded. Charging $98 without consent because it automatically comes with the machine.

Only used twice

So far I have only done two Pilates sessions. Some suggestions I have: let us know when the 30 second break starts. Sometimes it is hard to look at our phones and do the exercises at the same time. Also give us a heads up on what is coming next durning the 30 second break. Show us how to do it. That way we are ready when it is time go.

Needs a little work

The product is great, the app needs work.. the nutrition has nothing in it and the programs don’t track that you finished a workout. The workouts are good but there’s no way of knowing what’s coming so you have to scramble to pause it to set up for the next thing. It’s not awful and I definitely get a good workout, just a few things to make it a smoother experience :)

Poor User Experience

I think the user experience is terrible in this app - it feels very “windows early 2000’s” to me. The content is fine, though I much prefer instructors from other platforms. The video casting function does not work - it works from all my other apps, and I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling this app multiple times. But it’s fine for $100/year. I just really wish the app was up to the mid-2020’s standards.

Great for Pilates at home

I am really shocked to see all of the negative reviews. The machine arrived exactly as described and the app has many class options for all levels. Also, the subscription fee is actually less per month than other Pilates apps I’ve tried but not liked. I am so exited to keep going with my Pilates program.
