Jack of Some Trades/Master of None Booking App
As a small esthetics business owner with a Gold subscription for the past two years, I believe that Gloss Genius has the features you’d need as a business owner and provides the systems necessary to automate your everyday operations, but as individual stand-alones, these features are not well executed, and lack elements that I believe would be common sense, causing small inconveniences that ultimately create huge inconveniences as you grow.
1. For example, GG has gift cards, but clients cannot book services with these gift cards or see their balances on their own.
2. Unless you as the business owner were to use a third party platform for intake forms, clients cannot update their own forms after filling them out unless they are incomplete or if an appt confirmation email notifies them to complete the form all over again.
Additionally, you as the business owner cannot print/download client forms, view forms on desktop, or view their electronic signatures on either the app or desktop.
This means that unless they are incomplete, you cannot edit any forms during in person appointments while your client is already with you.
3. You cannot schedule any marketing campaigns (text/email).
4. Memberships are not created for 1 service/month subscriptions like traditional spas. I had to work around how it works to create this system for my clients.
Members also cannot accrue points via membership without you as the business owner tracking this manually.
5. The app texts clients from your personal phone number.
6. You cannot add more than one credit card on client files on app or desktop.
Customer service can usually only see what you see, and when contacted, hasn’t been any help for me.
Other than an easy booking process for clients and customized reports, it is a subpar app in my opinion, and not worth the Gold Subscription price. I would absolutely keep this platform if these features were added. But for now, I am definitely switching my booking platform in the near future.

Great potential but it fails
The software has potential if it would work like they say it does. My forms and waivers don’t go out. I don’t have the ability to email them as the buttons don’t work. There is no way for my clients to manage any type of appointment as directed. I am having to manually send everything by copy and paste which is costing me time and money.

Please stop changing everything
I’m literally begging please stop changing the interface. It is so confusing to navigate when everything changes every few weeks. I will open the app to check out a client and suddenly it’s like a whole different app and I’m standing there taking up my own time and my clients bc I was blindsided with an update I didn’t ask for. I love the concept of this app but I cannot continue if I’m having to relearn where everything is all the time. There has been nothing wrong with it the past few times it’s changed. I use this calendar for my livelihood and my personal affairs and I need consistency!!! Please only necessary updates and bug fixes!!!!!!

Love except for how far out you can book out
I have had this booking app for about 3 months now and I definitely love it in the aspect of how well they take care of their users and how easy it is to set up the booking site, I am at home nail tech so i love to see when my clients are getting taken care of as well without me not having to do much, the only bad thing I can say about Glossgenius is how far out you can extend your schedule. The least amount of time is a month out and for me it is very hard to have a life outside of work when I am giving my clients (regular and new users) free will to book a month out:( I wish I could set it up to 2 weeks out, I had my acuity account set to 2 weeks out and loved it because I could plan things easier with friends and family and not be worried about if I would have a client or not but other than that I love the app just not that fact that I cant have a life outside of work!

Recent updates are a step backwards
We run a busy aesthetician business using Gloss Genius for several years. Recent updates to the scheduling system have left us deeply frustrated. Not getting much help from Gloss Genius support and no schedule to get it fixed. Time to search for a new provider. :(
