FAQ

What does Google Fit do?

Google Fit helps you track your physical activity and achieve health goals. It awards 'Heart Points' for moderate and intense exercise, aligning with recommendations from the WHO and AHA to improve cardiovascular health, sleep, and mental wellbeing.

What are Heart Points?

Heart Points are a measure of your physical activity that contributes to your health. You earn one Heart Point for each minute of moderate activity and double points for more intense activities. Achieving a certain number of Heart Points daily or weekly can help reduce the risk of heart disease and improve overall wellbeing.

Can I add activities that weren't automatically tracked?

Yes, Google Fit allows you to manually add any physical activity that your other apps or devices may have missed. This ensures that all your exercise, from aerobics to Zumba, is accounted for in your activity journal.

What devices and apps are compatible with Google Fit?

Google Fit can connect with many popular fitness apps and devices, including those compatible with Apple Health. This allows for a holistic view of your health data. Examples include Lifesum, Runkeeper, Strava, MyFitnessPal, and Headspace.

Is Google Fit free to use?

Yes, Google Fit is a free application. There are no subscription fees or in-app purchases required to use its core features for tracking activity and monitoring health goals.
