Great app - sad to see them close down

Really wish they wouldn’t!

This app doesn’t exist anymore. It was great! Getir bought the company and now they are closing locations in the US, UK, and Europe.

AVOID - Didn’t give me refund for cancelled order

Gorillas cancelled my order, didn’t issue me a refund even after I chased three times.

Ended up having to dispute the charge via my bank - it’s been a month and I still haven’t had the money back!

Charger for product, but never delivered

The customer support service is very poor: “We have Out of Stock, and that is why we charged you for the product, but couldn’t deliver it. You should get a refund, but we don’t know when and we can’t send you any confirmation of a refund.”

Barely any food on the app

Lately there is hardly any food, no milk except for oat milk ew, hardly any meat. Like one vegetable...I dont know if theyre going out of business but all the food is grayed out for many days now which is so weird.

Double billed me and never responded

I had two payments taken from my account for shopping using the app. When I tried to discuss this I was told to wait by the bot. I got a person who said they had issued a refund and it would be deposited shortly. It didn’t happen - then I reached out via email - no response at all. Support is clearly terrible as there is no number to call anyone and no one answers the emails. I then raised a fraud claim with my bank and they reimbursed me. I was fobbed off to by support (just wait up to 7 days). No one cares at all at Gorillas. My advice - don’t use this app based on my experience! Dreadful service.

Send you the stuff no-one wants

If you order vegetables expect to get the tiniest one on the shelf and no help from customer service. They send you the stuff no-one would pick up for themselves.

Used to be a powerhouse, but they sold out to Getir.

Gorillas used to be my favourite delivery service when it first opened, the prices as well as how quick deliveries came was something a lot of other services could ever hope to desire. Unfortunately, as with competition, it was bought out by Getir, and ever since they did that, delivery prices absolutely skyrocketed, and the fee itself for delivery has become far too steep. I’m afraid I can’t recommend this service any more, they don’t have the same personality they used to, where they cherished their customers. They even gave new customers a bag, sometimes even throwing in sponsored freebies! It’s now just Getir 2.0

Really went downhill fast

The app hasn’t functioned properly at all this week and customer service has been extremely unhelpful. The app places holds on my credit card for the order but then fails with 0 explanation and the only explanation that support has given me is that there’s a bug and if I try reordering with one of the items removed it “might” work, but they don’t tell me which item I need to remove and Gorillas already placed multiple holds on my card that won’t be lifted for a few days. Awful customer service experience. Used to feel like it was run by people but this is just the normal thing of a startup cutting costs and getting worse and worse as they get absorbed by a merger or when they’re trying to be profitable. The prices of the groceries on the app have also gone up, with fewer discounts. Would not recommend gorillas anymore.

Disappointing customer service

I’ve happily used these guys many times, the delivery is fast and friendly! They recently sold me an item which was over two weeks out of date-I got in touch and they said they can only do something if I let them know as soon as the delivery is received. Seems a bit unlikely we’re going to go through everything and check the expiry dates as soon as it’s through the door. A simple credit for my next order would have been fine, but they won’t even consider that. It’s put me off using them again unfortunately!

Half my order wasn’t delivered, but they won’t refund me

They only delivered half my order due to stock issues and the delivery guy told me to get in touch with them on the chat to organise the refund (not automatic despite it being their fault and they were aware of it upon delivering). I requested it a month ago, and I still haven’t received my refund. I have been in touch with them 5 times now and each time they say ‘the refunds been processed please contact your bank’, but my bank have each time told me the refund was not processed. I’ve had issues with them before with them not showing up etc but this was definitely the final straw!

Very poor customer service

I just received extremely poor customer service and the filter/search capabilities in app are woeful.

Convenient and speedy

I’ve used it a bit when I don’t have time or just don’t feel like going it for groceries, plus they seem to have a wider selection of Halal and international goods.

One thing I wish was implemented was being able to tip drivers after delivery. I’ve had some really lovely guys deliver for me and would have loved to be able to tip them after the delivery.

it used to be so good

after 3 issues with my orders i’ve finally decided to delete this app. latest issue is that out of 8 items i ordered, 3 were missing. was only offered credit for those missing items with no redelivery option and their minimum spend is £10 so they force you to place another (larger) order with them in order to get your money back. customer service is nowhere near the level it should be. avoid.

Seriously one of my fave apps

They really are “faster than you” as their slogan goes. I cannot STAND going to the grocery store in Munich and waiting for people to pay with cash and navigating the tiny aisles with my giant stroller. I think I’ve ordered on Gorillas 30+ times now and I love that I get discount codes too. And they have everything! Seriously the best app.

Awful app that doesn’t work

Can’t place an order, just errors out or pinwheels forever depending on the pay method used. Customer service is garbage and doesn’t help.

Constantly not working

This app constantly has tech issues. Am order will be placed, charged on your card, and then they’ll cancel it. Bad service. No accountability for bad tech. Avoid.

Bad app but great customer services

The item range on the app is pretty poor. There’s not a large number of items and often the most important items are unavailable or out of stock. On top of this prices are inflated. One pint of ice cream normally is around £5, but by the time you’ve added random items you don’t need just to get it to the minimum price it’s £10. Then, there’s the delivery and service charge and it will amount to around £16. However, a great aspect is the customer service. It very quickly allows you to message a real human and they’re very quick with refunds/credit if you need it.

Overall, It’s great for disabled people or if you’re ill, but for most it’s just an expensive way to be lazy.
