You be the judge
Update - Just canceled. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I encourage you to do the same.
Despite a response to this review, they never reached out via email, mobile or the portal. I suspended for four weeks before I resumed. Then this morning we woke up to a warm delivery box that had been somewhere (not with us) and dropped off overnight (I.e. after midnight) while we slept. The customer service response was minimal. Just not adequate. So we just canceled. Felt too much like an abusive relationship. Good food, reasonable app, unfortunate customer service. Not cheap as it is about $14 per serving (one shipment of a meal includes 2 servings for just under $28) for the non-premium meals. And then there is a flat delivery charge regardless of the number of meals ordered. We’ve ordered 3 meals a week (6 servings) for over a year, representing over $4k. Quality ingredients and tasty, nutritious recipes. Prep time is way off - expect typically twice as long as they say. We recently received a meal (two servings) without the salmon. Not really a meal. I reported it and we were only credited with about $9. On a $28 meal that was no longer a meal. And this was only the second time in a year we had reported an issue. Yet only $9? I submitted a complaint through the app and then ultimately was able to also reach a human on chat. After a lot of discussion, I was able to persuade them to refund the full meal ($28). I also then asked to have someone reach out (text, email, phone). I submitted another request for that via the app. It’s been over a full week. No response in the app, over email, or text or phone. No response to the concerns I raised with the customer agent. If I spend $4k in one year on a service, I expect more customer service than what I experienced. And less effort to be refunded for a clear failure to deliver what was paid for. I am surprised to say this but I believe I get more service from my wireless carrier and that is for ⅓ the annual spend. What gives? Maybe someone from Green Chef will respond to this. Maybe they can explain their (a) refund policy when the entree is not included and (b) their engagement strategy from this App and other contacts. Or perhaps this is just another example of the “service slop” that I’m experiencing more frequently. I hope not. But I’m not holding my breath. But you decide. I’ve given you plenty of information. I’ve suspended my account for the next few weeks (i.e., skipping weeks). We shall see. But I will update you here. Check back!

Rude support, rancid boxes
Been a customer of over 3 years with 169 boxes delivered. Lately they cannot deliver food on time, meat arrives late and hot in Atlanta summer and customer support is rude and gives only partial refunds for inedible food.
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
-horrible customer service
-NOT ORGANIC
-very few vegan/vegetarian options
-small portions
-overpriced
I was charged the full price TWICE even though they said I had discount codes. After getting a hold of their customer service multiple times for the same issue, I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle and closed the account. Having received the box today and realizing they are not organic I’m so glad I made the decision; they claim they’re organic but that’s false advertising, I received tortillas, a can of black beans, and neither one was labeled as organic, I shutter to think what’s in the rest of the bags. That’s very misleading and deceptive. Also I recognized a lot of the ingredients used were the same as another food delivery service that costs 30$ less than here. You’re paying organic prices for non organic ingredients. WHAT A SCAM.

Good service, but the app is poor. 👍📱
I really like the keto meals on Green Chef. 🥑🍗
However, on the iOS app it's impossible to review, change, or edit your upcoming meals because the app doesn't allow it. This has been broken for months, and it's shocking that an app can remain this broken for so long. 😤
They also need to have a GPT built into the iOS app so that when you're looking at the instructions and you have a question, there's something you can chat with about the recipe. For those of us who aren't professional chefs, we have to do this all the time — it would take the developers a minute to add. 🤖🍽️
Apart from that, I really like the service, but the app is poor.
