Very Straightforward
Easy to use and self explanatory. Changing my Tag account over couldn’t have been easier.
Just terrible!
Multi million pound revenue and can’t even have a decent app setup even after the booths are gone. Extremely long process to make payment in the first place. Met with errors and other issues. Then another drawn out process to make an account and then you have to add £15 funds as you can’t just pay your toll in full. What if you travel once every few years? Or once in general forever. It’s non refundable! Must have taken me about an hour just to pay the toll.
Booths were far easier and at least you knew you had paid. New system is designed for increased fines nothing more.

Not Acceptable
Not at all impressed how the toll has been converted to full ANPR only with the signs saying pay by midnight, but no further details how, so you then have to search online for the official web address, which scammers will no doubt create fake sites to take people's money! I then downloaded the app with a £15 upfront payment, but you then have to wait up to a week to see any crossings logged, so no way to know for sure if it's been paid and left dangling; surely the data is there as soon as you go through! This must be improved!

Diabolical
How on earth can you shut the booths then not have any avenues that work to pay the fee. I’ve been trying all day, I do not want to have a credit on my account. I just need to pay the amount I owe and even that is proving a full days job. I’ve just been to the hospital (begrudge paying this dam fee for hospital visits but have no choice with that either) and don’t feel like spending the next few hours trying to pay this newly increased fee. Absolutely soul destroying.

Poorly designed app
You will be fined if you don’t pay next day but this app doesn’t show crossings on the next day so you don’t know if account is live and working correctly after your first crossing.
Up front payment of £15 is a ripoff. As others have said password manager won’t work. Provision to change or add car registration is not there.

Humbert Bridge
This is the bridge that takes you from the humber to the humber. Bridge, it is rubbish to pay and use and i like to crush worms with rocks. I hope this app didnt put the little people in the booth out of the jobs. It takes five whole days to see the worms you have paid for. I hope they are okay
Just plain awful
This has to be one of the worst apps I have had the displeasure to use. What a pain to set up, you follow the instructions to set up your password, what you need to do isn’t the same as what they say you can do, you can’t copy and paste your password from password manager, it’s seems that it’s been set up by a 4 year old, very unprofessional.

Robbery
Terrible App. Needs £15 to join then completely unclear as to whether this covers you for the toll I just joined to pay for. I do not know if I have paid. All I know is that this app now has £15 of my money and I have no way of getting it back. Furthermore, the app also demands a minimum balance of £10. What is the reason for this? If thousands of locals are also conned into this, then the app owners have tens of thousands of our money sitting in their accounts. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Hateful.

Where is the part of the app that tells me how many times the bridge has logged me travelling over?
How do I know what I have paid has been for my actual crossing?
The app just logs my interactions. It tells me my car (my info) my payments (info I have put in) and my interactions (things I have put in). Nothing from the Humber bridge.

Terrible app
I managed to set up an account from the HBB website, and then downloaded the app, it’s beyond useless, more often than not I get a message stating that there’s no internet connection when my other devices are operating perfectly fine, the change to a toll free system has been on the cards for a long time so it’s disappointing that the app is not fully functioning when the new system is in operation, come on HBB sort it out !!!!!

New app and new online payment that people don’t want to use and the app doesn’t always load properly and is confusing with its wording, you can’t get your disabled concession without an account and they want proof of vehicle ownership for disabled but you don’t have to have a car of your own to use disabled concession, this is discrimination against disabled that don’t drive themselves to places but use friends and family to ferry them about . More thought and ease needed to go into this program well before they launched it . It’s also another way to prevent people using cash

Terrible application
Awful application. Badly written. Terrible ui experience. Does not properly support password managers. Does not allow pasting of password. Promotes bad security practise. Huge terms and conditions you must scroll past to proceed which are almost impossible to read in the tiny window they display them in on a phone screen.

An improvement
This app has been a long time coming and it is an improvement over the 10+ year old website. Only niggle so far is that Login options don’t include FaceID.

They managed to make it even worse.
They scrapped a perfectly functional manned toll booth and replaced it with an ANPR system where you’re expected to remember to pay later—or get fined. No barrier, no clear prompt, just blind faith that the system works.
Except the website doesn’t even update immediately. So even when you do remember to pay, the crossing might not show up, leaving you to guess whether you’ve paid correctly or wait and hope you don’t get a penalty notice anyway.
It’s not modernisation, it’s a shambles: confusing, unreliable, and seemingly designed to generate fines rather than provide a public service.

Does not work with iPhone password manager
Fairly painful setup that found neither my address nor model of my car and then didn’t allow you to use stored passwords or biometric login.
No password autocomplete support
The website and app don’t like the use of password managers or autocomplete… even copy / paste is disabled for some absolutely crazy reason.
I ended up using JavaScript to force a secure password into the password field on the website when signing up even though it really didn’t want me to but now I can’t use any auto complete or even paste the password in manually so it’s basically impossible to access. 😂
At least the old site allowed the use of secure passwords… for security this whole things is a step backwards.

Difficult to login
Great app once you can get logged in. If like me you have an iPhone and use the iOS password app to store username/passwords, you can’t use it to load password or even copy and paste from that app. Had to write my password down and type it.
App would be so much better if it had option to load password from password app and use biometrics ie Face ID to open the app.

Just rubbish…
How on earth can you not get your app working when you knew that the toll booths were closing months ago! Took me hours to set up an account online as the app wasn’t available even after the booths closed, and then I was forced to put money into my account, rather than just pay after using the bridge which we were told we could do. Now the app is finally available there is no api into apple passwords, and when you do manually pull up apple passwords it doesn’t populate the password field. So, then the next option is to paste in your password (because generated apple passwords are pretty long). However the password field doesn’t allow pasting! Just shoddy programming, it’s unforgivable. This is basic stuff, whoever you got to develop this app needs firing. It’s lazy programming, even an amateur would know how to do the basics. I rarely ever write reviews but you’ve annoyed me so much I feel compelled to do so

Massive improvement
The app is a night and day improvement over the old outdated website. Very easy to navigate, top up account and make changes to reg plates.
