This app sucks

This app completely forgets my log information and won’t let me log back in there is no help support try forget password chooses forget password and won’t send code. Utter garbage.

Usage

I always asked my utilities provider for better usage details. Now I have it. Thank you.

Terrible

Probably the worst piece of software I have ever used and I started using computers in 1980!
The program is buggy and gives you incorrect information on what your softener is doing. It also omits info that seemingly would be helpful, like when has or will the softener regenerate. Do not make any mistakes setting up your password or your account as recovering will be frustrating and tedious.

Please fix the alerts/notifications feature

This part of the app needs some work. You get notified of issues that you have selected, but you cant clear the notifications. Reading them and clicking ok doesn’t do anything. I have “read” and re-read old alert messages I don’t know how many times and they stay listed as “unread”. Sometimes you get red badges on the icon and sometimes you don’t. I have had one that has been there for nearly a year because I cannot find a way to clear it (even deleting the app doesn’t do it). Let us delete old alerts. I don’t need to see things from over a year ago.

Fails to connect

This app loses connection to my Rheem Water Softener every few days after installation. As soon as I delete the app and reinstall it, it works again for a few days and loses connection again. There are no wifi connection issues on the water softner side as it shows up without any issues in Home Assistant. The developer really needs to fix this lame app cache related bug.

Doesn’t work

Worked last year then quit. I was told they were having problems with the app it has never worked

Timely alerts

I am loving the app, it provides timely alerts on rasin recharge, low salt, and if some tap is open. Current flow rate of water, daily, weekly monthly views are great insights

Motorized control valve

So far, the app is leaving a “something to be desired” taste in my mouth. I don’t write reviews for apps, but this is extremely frustrating.
For starters, the connection method for WiFi , is sketchy and has intermittent connectivity issues. (Despite the router being physically next to the unit in my case and we have 1g cable internet service ) . Lastly, I purchased the corresponding motorized ball valve to close the valve remotely. Installed successfully, with no leaks etc , but no matter what, the app will not recognize the valve. (Former electrician here, and applied low voltage power directly to the valve and proved it is indeed functional). Please advise?

Update April 2026: much better software team ! WiFi control valve works seamlessly now. The features, are now , what I would expect you would get when you purchasing a higher end “smart softener “. Or, if the user, wanted to get “deep” into the control aspect or various parameters. Ultimately, the idea here is to use the product, to the best of its design and intention. Right??

So, I suppose I can’t complain too much about the re-structure or re-vamping of the app. Hope it pays off good fer’ y’all?!
Glad, you listened to your consumers concerns and took action. Bravo Morton. Bravo! (30 year, multiple Morton costumer, and installer)

Annoying bugs

Nice to be able to manage my softener from my phone, but it’s annoying because notifications don’t get marked as read when you read them, so I’m always thinking there is a problem.

Long needed update

Finally updated. Much better.

Notifications

I’m giving this app a 3 star review because you cannot clear notifications once you receive them. Please fix this issue.

Love the smart features but wish it didn’t rely on a remote server they control

I love the smart features and having an app I can use to check things. However, it bothers me that my access to the device is controlled through a remote server iQua controls. I wish there was an option for me to access my device locally. They rate limit the calls pretty hard and that’s a problem I wouldn’t have with local access. This is also something they don’t tell you until you have the device. For those of us in the home automation world, this behavior is really disappointing.

This rate limiting will become a problem for those that use the app and try to pull stats too many times in a short enough duration.

Other than that, I absolutely love the device and the app is super useful. More so, you can set alerts for water flow, low salt levels and yearly cleaning that go to your email. These alerts are super useful! I do wish for iPhones they expand on it and allow it to create reminders, or even just expand it to offer options in the shortcuts app.

Overall, awesome stuff. Just some things I wish they would improve for us more technical people. For the non-technical none of my problems should apply and you’ll all be super happy with the experience.

Great system

I really love the system with WiFi. It has saved us money be alerting me that we had a water flow issue. Twice o was away and had a pipe freeze and burst. The system alerted me and we got the pipes shut off. I probably should invest in the remote cutoff so I could do it without being on site.

Ver 1.4.2 alert notifications wont clear

Cannot clear the notification badge from app icon on my desktop because alert messages are not getting marked “read” when you go read them. If you get an alert, then go into app and read it, it is still marked unread. My unread alerts are piling up even tho they have all been read. This makes the (1) badge on my app icon always there which is totally irritating. So I have to turn off the badges which kind of defeats half the purpose of having notifications turned on…

Plz address. Ty

A real working app

Easy to set up, understand and use.

Lacks Access to Water Shutoff Vale

The new app is so bad. Too gimmicky. Lacks Access to Water Shutoff Vale. Don’t update from the old app until they straighten this out.

Fixed

I’m revising my review. I trashed the app after the last update because of numerous glitches that made it useless. Those all seem to be fixed. I’m happy now. Please don’t change it again.

Treated Water Available incorrect

I am so happy this app is finally getting some support. The latest updates are a huge improvement and access to the Status numbers that include water used, days since recharged, etc. is VERY helpful. But the Treated Water Available never changes for me. It always shows 391 gallons regardless of when the system last recharged. This is with a Model Rheem RHW42. Thank you

Almost there

The latest app update has greatly improved things, but a couple more insights into device operation and features would greatly improve the app and device value. Too many devices are made WiFi connected without adding additional usefulness; adding insights and smarts greatly adds to their value.

Would like to see a regeneration status page including resin capacity currently used along with total resin capacity, and dates/times of prior regenerations. A display for date/time that next regeneration is scheduled would be very useful, displaying estimated date otherwise if one is not yet scheduled.

Please also allow viewing of detailed historical water usage for any specified past day, month, or year; not just the latest of each.

An option to automatically actuate the shutoff valve if a continuous flow has met a specified criteria would also be very useful.

Clear interface

The new UI is cleaner and easy to read, less clutter. Statistics are easy to read. It is very handy being able to see water consumption rates and estimated days left of salt. Also, when my daughter takes 30 minute showers I get a high water usage alert which is nice.
I have had to reset the wifi once due to the unit not working, other wise it has been fine everyday. Overall very happy with my purchase and the app.
