Not wise and not smart manages and marketing department.

You created wonderful application. But you “divorsing” attitude is horrible. You are retiring without explanation. Just run away. I feel that you spat in my face. I gave hundreds references to my friends. What should I say than now? Give this application to someone who care about people. Give it with one important things, they should keep free part and able add what they want. I believe hundreds of your user can handle it easy. Finaly, if you will not do anything, I definitely will spot buying any of your products. I never check before but now I will do it. It is the same like: “do not buy made in china”. Now I can say “do not buy made by J&J”. I hope many people will do it and financial impact will be significant. You lose more. Good luck in way of killing reputation of your company.

Noooooooo!!! Please don’t retire the app!

I just opened my favorite 7 minute workout app and got a message it’s being retired as of Dec 23, 2023! This is by far the best 7 min w/o app out there. The flexibility and options and customization are fantastic. I have used it in spurts frequently in the past. I get myself into shape with it and then start jogging or doing more intense workouts. I am not an every day kind of person, but once I did the 8 minute workout every single morning for a month and literally on day 30 I notice a marked increase in my fitness and ability to do the exercises. 8 minutes a day is all it takes and that’s amazing. This app has really helped me many times over the years. I don’t want it to go away! Please reconsider and at least I hope it will continue to work on my iPad!

Best Home Workout

Update: I just saw the message that the app would be retired in December. I want to give Johnson and Johnson a big thank you for providing such a wonderful app for years. Thank you and best wishes for the future!

I’ve used this app on and off for about five years and I can’t sing its praises enough! The only equipment you need is a sturdy chair. The app is simple and clean. Instructions are brief and to the point, and you can turn off the voices instructions easily. The app tracks the exercises you complete and how you rated the difficulty and will recommend when to move up or down levels of difficulty. Something else I appreciate is that the person demonstrating the exercises is modestly dressed (an issue I’ve run into with other workout videos). Overall, I highly recommend!

Johnson and Johnson 7 min workout

Excellent app with warm ups and cool downs and enough of a variety of exercises that the workouts never get old. The Smart Workouts are very good, not only because of the exercises that are chosen but also because the element of surprise takes that one component of knowing and dreading what is coming next in your workout, completely out of the picture. Game changer! Although I love this app and feel that it is the best one of its kind that I have tried, I wish that I could access a stretching routine or even a variety of stretching routines, such as one to start my day or one todo before bed. Currently, the only stretches in the app are for a warm up or a cool down and are a bit limited. The importance of stretching, for maximum health and flexibility could be emphasized a bit more, to make this app truly the best HIIT available.

LOVE this app and the variety of exercise routines available, not to mention the challenge of the “Smart Workouts.” I also like the way our post-workout ratings of how easy or difficult each workout felt helps the app adapt Smart Workouts to our fitness level. Here are my ideas for a few improvements: allow users to create an account so that our workout history is synced across our devices; right now my iPad app and my iPhone app aren’t talking to each other. Allow us to post to FB or other platforms, and to choose which finished workouts we post. Also, would be nice to add some more workouts and an option to eliminate types of exercises, for those, for example who have bad shoulders.

Simple, helpful, reliable

Simple, clear instructions accompany each of the short exercises included in this app’s guided 7-minute workouts. I appreciated being able to customize a workout with the specific exercises that work best for me. The narrated tips for each exercise are helpful, though if you exercise while listening to music on your AirPods, the instructions may interrupt your listening. Overall, this is an excellent exercise app, aided by being able to see the visual demonstrations of a real person doing each exercise. I’ve chosen this one over several other 7 minute exercise app alternatives, and I used this one throughout the pandemic period because it was reliable and helpful.

Not for a 72 year old

In my twenties I swam, jogged and played tennis. Fifty years later my activity level is lower but I have been careful to protect my joints and tendons and I don’t need any knee or hip replacements. I won’t start doing anything now that could put my joints at risk.

This 7-minute regimen is for a younger person who can do jumping jacks, push up, curls and that sort of thing. I need something lower key, so will search for tai chi or yoga exercises.

IF, if, I had never stopped being active, I might be able to do these joint-tendon jarring exercises, but it would be stupid for me to just start doing them now out of the blue. Just like I won’t play pickle ball with my senior neighbors (tho most of them have been sidelined by injuries from that game).

App is back up 🙌

Happy that this app has returned to life. I took a break from it after it had issues logging in and keeping track of workout progress. This is my favorite app to use when I’m short on time or just tired and want to get a quick workout in without thinking too hard about it. The prompts are good.

Interface could use a bit of improvement. Wish it had the basic function of being able to pause and rewind a few seconds for when I’m interrupted on occasion during a workout but there is no rewind option. Instead I’m running to grab the phone to hit pause which adds unnecessary stress about not being able to catch up.

Amazing workout app

I’ve been using this app for at least 5 years. Never a dull moment, never disappointed. My clothes are soaked in 21 mins. This 7 minute workout App never fail to disappoint. In 21 minutes I’m soaked. My heart rate is up to 150bpm.

Update. I’m still using this app for my cardio workout. I’m researching for an exercise Cardio / Health & Fitness App that’s better than the 7 min workout. I don’t see any that even comes close. And all the others charge for their apps. This is free. It has been free from when it was first introduce and continue to be free. By far the best free exercise app in the marketplace. By far have exceeded my expectations .

Very good app, but…

I love this app. I’ve done around 200 workout, everything from the 7-Minute to the Smart Workout and all the pre-made cycles. I love it and use it every other day. Lately, though, the app has stopped saving my workouts. I get to the end, do my cool down, and try to reply to the question about how I feel and the app says it failed to save. Is there a new setting on my iPhone I don’t know about? Now I have to manually track my progress (a first-world problem, to be sure, but still…). Sometimes the sound that counts down the beginning and end of an interval doesn’t play, taking off my timing and throwing off my effort. It would be nice if it did what it claims to do.

A few changes needed

I used this app today and I really like the format. I will definitely use it again, but I wanted to leave feedback for changes that I think are needed initially:
1. Users should be able to change the model to someone that reflects their gender and race (would love to see different body types too)
2. Users should be able to skip exercises in the workout or pick exercises they want to avoid in the profile settings. I have arthritis and I cannot do exercises that involve bending my big toe, so lunges are out of the question. I had to modify with another exercise myself.

Great app, could use some options for women

I use this app at least three times a week alternating with other forms of morning exercise. I love the variety of exercises and not knowing which will come up so I prefer the Smart Workout though I realize I can create a custom workout. Two wishes:
1) An option to limit the number of cycles for the smart workout on a particular day (though I suppose I could just stop)
2) Although you can screen out exercises you dislike (or cannot do) it would be ideal to be able to identify that I am a 67 year old woman who will probably never have the upper body strength to do push-ups with advanced bird dog. In other words, I’d like to be able to advance in difficulty without that meaning I have advanced upper body strength.
Regardless, thank you for this app!

Great Free App for Fitness

I am years overdue for writing this review. I started using this app in 2017 because I didn’t feel like dealing with all the nuances of going to the gym… Getting the clothes getting in my car and going to the gym working out having to drive home and then shower. I need something fast that I can do in my home and found this app. I started off on the seven minute program and gradually worked my way up to the 26 minutes. Lost 20 pounds with this along with the tone it up nutrition program. It works, it’s simple and it’s free!

Wonderful workout app!

I LOVE this app. Started with the 7min Smart workout but have moved on to my own customized workouts. I love that I can make my own workouts. I have ones for days I need a quick workout and then longer ones with different levels of challenge. There are still some exercises that seem impossible for me to do BUT I felt the same way about some of the ones I’m doing now. So...#goals! I see a difference in my body and I’m so much stronger!
I would love to see an addition of a whole stretching library.

Good app but needs tweaking

I justDownload it to ipad. Easy to do and set up. As I has handicaps I thought I would try the customization exercise and creat my own. Again easy to set up and really helps you to understand what areas you’re working on.
BUT
I cannot seem to edit the custom workout routine i just created. I am pushed on what appears to be a button in the top of screen but nothing is happening. Thought well maybe I need to run through the exercise routine and then you can update as needed, but NO. Still can edit and button does not work. Maybe it’s a glitch. My main thing is I would like to organize so there in minimal up and down but more grouped. I have MS and a lot slower so need to conserve energy to maximize workout.
I will be looking at other apps.

almost perfect

as someone who has difficulty exercising, this app really helped me work my way up into regular workouts at a comfortable and healthy pace. i really only have three problems with the app. first is that in custom workouts they don't let you repeat any exercises (exp: you can't select "chair-assist push-up" three times). if you're just starting and can only do one of the exercises, it's frustrating having to select exercises you can't do. second, i really wish there were more easy modified versions of different exercises. again, if you're really out of shape then forcing yourself to improperly do an exercise that you can't do, you can really end up hurting yourself. and third, there's no way to turn off exercise descriptions without turning off ALL of the audio cues, meaning you'd have to constantly watch the screen. this wouldn't be too bad if the app didn't lower the volume of whatever else you're listening to while doing these descriptions. again none of these are dealbreakers but i think if they were fixed it would really make the app incredible.

Frictionless workouts

There is no excuse not to workout with this app. All you need is your phone, a chair or bench, and a wall. There is a wide variety of 20-25 minute (despite the name) workouts grouped by difficulty level which will put your joints through their full range of motion while getting your heart pumping. Each exercise has an instructional video so you can ensure you are performing it correctly, and the set routines can be customized if there are individual exercises you unable to do safely. I roll out of bed, grab my phone and a chair, and 20 minutes or so later I’ve done a good total body workout and can face my day. I’ve been using everyday for 8 months and still love it.

Simple Exercise app

This app is SUPER simple in terms of set up and use. There is a set of body weight exercises to choose from, and you can make your own workouts by deciding number of cycles and amount of rest, but otherwise the workout structure is the same every time. I would like to see an update that allows users to see their progress through the entire workout, not just the current exercise, and also a way to alter the workout structure (eg more or less than 30 seconds of active time, only doing a few exercises but for more than three cycles, etc) for greater customization. Other than that this is still a very simplistic, easy to use app for beginner to intermediate users.

Edit: the app is working, I love it again

I used to use regularly, but I haven’t used in several months. I was always happy with the app. Tried getting back into it due to quarantine, but every time I try to log in I get “error.. request timed out”. I tried even reregistering with a new email address and I have the same issue. I never even logged out, I had selected to remember me so it’s frustrating I had to log in again to begin with. Seems like I can’t use the app.

Edit: it works again, happy appy
