Worst Interface and Paid promotion
This app was so much better when it was Disney+ Hotstar.
The current interface is one of the worst I’ve used. It’s confusing, cluttered, laggy, and nowhere near user-friendly.
The touch experience is terrible. Every time I tap on one series, a completely different show opens. And no, it’s NOT my phone. I tested it on two other devices and the exact same thing happened.
The scrolling is completely inconsistent. Sometimes it scrolls so fast that it skips everything, other times it lags, hangs, and barely responds. It feels unfinished.
And can someone explain why I have to keep clicking on JioHotstar or Tadka while I’m simply trying to watch a series? I understand promotions, but forcing them into the experience every single time is incredibly annoying.
The biggest joke? We’re paying for a subscription and still getting bombarded with ads. A 20-minute episode has around 6 ads, each lasting about 10 seconds, plus ads before the episode starts and in between the episode. What’s the point of paying if the experience is this disruptive?
Honestly, this update has made the platform worse in almost every way. Right now, Prime Video and Netflix offer a far superior user experience. If this is the direction the app is going, you’re giving users every reason to switch.
This version is forceful and reads like a strong app store review without becoming abusive, which tends to be more effective.

Ad fishing
The content hangs every few seconds and trying to resume is always leading to another ad that you have to watch. Even after that, there is no guarantee that the content will run. “Priyanka & Pedro” one episode is hanging 10-15 times. Fed up with this. Netflix and Amazon Prime are far superior.
Really great streaming
It’s great that u can see all sorts of anime and can watch Bluey bot one problem…now when I open JioHotstar and if I tap a show(eg. MasterChef ) there’s only this black screen and it takes ages for it to start that channel/movie on my iPad. Can u please fix that problem

Hotstar app used to be the best one around before it became JioHotstar. Now it sucks. There are ads shown when the app is launched. Scrolling through selections is stuttery. It keeps showing popups to search or popup ads while browsing. The new section is no longer chronological so it is tough to know what is new.

A Complete Downgrade: Disney+ Hotstar Was Awesome, This is a Nightmare
Disney+ Hotstar used to be a seamless, premium streaming experience, but this new JioHotstar merged app is the exact opposite. It feels like a cheap, glitchy downgrade that has completely ruined the viewing experience.
First and foremost: the advertisements are completely out of control. Even if you are a paid subscriber, you are constantly bombarded with ads. Watching live cricket or sports has become incredibly frustrating because the ad breaks happen at such short intervals that it completely destroys the momentum of the game. It feels like a platform built for advertisers rather than viewers.
On top of the relentless ads, the app's performance is abysmal. The player frequently hangs, lags, and struggles with constant buffering. They’ve seemingly downgraded the streaming quality—getting a stable 4K stream feels impossible now, with the resolution frequently dropping to a pixelated mess. There are also incredibly annoying UI bugs, like pre-selected subtitles completely disappearing right after an ad plays, forcing you to manually toggle them on and off or restart the app entirely just to get them back.
To make matters worse, they’ve engaged in shady subscription practices since the merger. They quietly changed the benefits on existing plans, locking away Hollywood and premium shows that used to be included in standard recharge packs, and are now demanding additional payments to access them.
You took a perfectly good, well-optimized platform and turned it into an unwatchable, ad-stuffed cash grab. Until the endless ad interruptions are reduced and the video player is actually fixed, I cannot recommend this app to anyone. Save your money and your sanity.

This is hands down the most pathetic streaming experience I have ever had. The app is a complete disaster. It keeps crashing and closing every few minutes, and let’s be clear: this is NOT a device issue. It is a blatant, intentional "glitch" designed to harass users.
Every single time the app "conveniently" shuts down in the middle of a live match, I have to restart it and am immediately forced to sit through a fresh round of unskippable ads. It is disgusting how they are manipulating the technical failures of their own app just to inflate their ad revenue. You guys are literally stealing our time and testing our patience.
To make matters worse, the live stream constantly lags or jumps back 10–20 seconds automatically. When this happens, there is no option to skip forward back to the actual live action. I am forced to watch a delayed feed while the rest of the world sees the score before me.
You are ruining the spirit of the game with your greed and incompetence. Fix your broken, buggy app or stop bidding for broadcasting rights if you can't handle the load. Absolutely shameful service. Avoid this app at all costs!
