What's New in Kinney Drugs Rx

2.1.11

August 31, 2026

We are constantly working to make managing your prescriptions easier and more secure. This update brings a faster setup process, enhanced refill management, and important accessibility upgrades. New Features & Easier Setup - Seamless In-App Onboarding: You can now create your account, set up Two-Factor Authentication, verify your pharmacy patient profile, and link your tHRiVE Rewards entirely inside the app—no more redirecting to a web browser. - Store-to-Store Transfers: Easily transfer your prescriptions between pharmacy locations directly within the refill process. - Clearer Refill Statuses: Wondering if a medication is ready to be refilled? We’ve added a new "Is Refillable" status that explains exactly why a prescription can or cannot be refilled right now. Prescription Management Improvements - Faster Loading: We’ve upgraded our systems behind the scenes so your My Prescriptions page loads noticeably faster. - Decluttered Views: We’ve updated the criteria for "Inactive Prescriptions" to hide older scripts and keep your medication list clean and relevant. - Easier Renewals: The "Request New Rx" button now appears more frequently when you need it, and we've updated data sources for Automatic Refills to ensure a smoother experience. - Enhanced Security: Unauthenticated (guest) prescription refills now require a Date of Birth to keep your health information secure. - Better Notifications: Improved error messaging provides clearer next steps if a refill request isn't accepted. Design, Accessibility & Bug Fixes - Accessibility Upgrades: We’ve improved color contrast across the app for better visibility and added full support for your device's native font-scaling settings. - Profile Updates: You can now change your "Home Store" directly from your My Profile page. - Interactive Banners: Tap our new homepage banners to jump directly to features and promotions inside the app.

Class Action Lawsuit time

I’m waiting on a prescription and the app keeps resetting the number of days until ready. I called and the pharmacist had to go into the computer to fix it. Bugs like this should NEVER occur in any kind of medical application! I looked online and this has been happening for a long time. The app should be pulled from the App Store.

Getting better but still a long way off

The latest update has made things a little better. Would like to be able to hide old prescriptions. Otherwise it makes it hard to find the correct script to renew with PCP. The old app allowed that feature. Still needs a lot of work.

Slow buggy disaster

If I could give the app 0 stars, I would.

Let’s start with the prescriptions. First of all, having to log in to that separately is a huge downgrade from the old app. I always have to open it twice to get the prescriptions to load. Even then, they are slower than death to load. With the new update it now logs me out if I try to look at a different app with the prescription screen open. I have automatic refills off, yet it says they are on for any prescription that isn’t ready for pickup. More than one prescription is listed twice, and there is no way to hide or remove the inactive prescriptions, of which I have many. Oh, and when you do refill a prescription, there is no back button to get back to the prescription list.

Now we get to the notifications. According to the settings, I have them off. Yet I receive the text message notifications. Now, as an accessibility feature the text reminders and ability to refill prescriptions through text should be a good thing. The AI ruins it. It pesters me with constant messages, sends reminders for prescriptions not actually eligible for refill, and sends in refills for prescriptions I didn’t ask for (and you can’t cancel them through text or the app meaning you have to talk to the pharmacist to fix it). Zero reason for AI for a basic text reminder and refill system.

The overall app design is not accessible, and does nothing to improve the user experience. The old app had issues but was much better. The main goal of a pharmacy app should be to provide easy and accurate access to prescription refills. This fails on the most basic level.

Nonfunctional

You dingalings. It’s like you want to go out of business. At least your previous app was functional. This one doesn’t even allow you to refill prescriptions without the prescription number, doesn’t allow you to manage other family members meds, and half the time the app just closes on itself. I gave it a full 2 months for things to be fixed and still haven’t been so now I’ll be going to mail order or Walgreens for the convenience.

Useless

Login randomly stops working sometimes and whenever I try to add a medication to check my refill, it says the information I filled out (from the bottle) doesn’t match any prescriptions. will also say that the phone number on my prescription bottle from my local kinney drugs doesnt match any kinney drugs locations??? like how bad can you make this app
