LemFi is fast and reliable.
Transfer apps are usually buggy, but this one really works!
So I was skeptical at first, because this is a money transfer app (and they are usually buggy) and, second, this is an app which sends money to African countries, which can be quite unpredictable in terms of infrastructure and connectivity.
But lucky for me this app delivers everything it promises seamlessly!
It worked so well during my West African trip that I'm leaving this review (I normally do that when apps really annoy me).
It saved me so much of ATM fees that would incur were I to withdraw cash. In Nigeria, for ex, each withdraw was capped at 20k naira (~10£) and it was charging fixed 1£ each time regardless of the amount! Imagine losing 10% of your money just like that.
Also, payment with international cards just doesn't work in most places in this region, so it was either withdrawing or exchanging physical cash.
The app also offers very fair exchange rate (very negligible from the google rate) so you don't lose on that. And, finally, there are no fees!
So, sending my £ to a Nigerian or Beninese people took me seconds of tapping and they were almost instantly receiving their bank/mobile money. I was impressed, because most transfer apps just take longer time.
Finally, it has just nice UI and UX flows. For ex., when I messed up my email during registration, it allowed me to change it after validating my phone number. Most apps would just get stuck at this point requiring you to contact their support or not allow to do this at all. As a user, I just want thank you, because it saved me in most payment situations.
