Absolute Rip off
This app doesn’t even work when you sign in it takes you to a web page. Then it asks for your credit card. I tried to create a 15 second video after 2 hours it only created the storyboards no video. Absolutely worthless
Extremely glitchy
I think the quality of the content is fine but the app itself sucks. I have to log in EVERY single time and then I just get an error message after I try to export My content.

Let down
I was excited about this. I was ok to pay $30/month. Then I download it and try to make a 10 second video out of 5 photos. Used my 10,000 credits in 20 minutes and didn’t even get one video out of it. Then they said no refund because it did what it was supposed to. Total rip off if you ask me. At least I just lost 30 dollars and 30 mi items of my life. Lesson learned.

Sucks can’t even get into the app
It’s so confusing to use on the phone it pops up in Sadie for no reason and sucks at literally everything it does fix your controls unhappy download delete in less than two minutes

Para começar, o app não cobre a tela inteira do IPad e fica do tamanho da de telefone, não aparece teclado para digitar, ao fazer logout na seção “ Continuar com o Google” se eu saio após concluir ele vó,tá para a tela de logout! E o pior é um “olho da cara” nem deu para testar e os planos são de 25 $ 30 $ e 90 $ ! Não baixem!

Not worth the money
I’m honestly really disappointed with this app. I paid $30 expecting it to help me make real video ads, but the results were bad and not what I asked for. I would tell it to create a video ad, and it either made low-quality ads or just generated pictures instead of an actual useful video. For the price, I expected way better. I don’t recommend this app and I’m not satisfied at all.

I've noticed that many prompts are being flagged as outside the guidelines, which is frustrating. I specifically needed a model to showcase shaving armpits, but it’s being categorised as inappropriate material! This makes the tool much less useful for professionals like me. I’m spending more time navigating these restrictions than I’d like. Ideally, I want to create a concise 5-10-second video in 10-30 minutes; otherwise, I might as well spend 20 minutes searching for footage on Pond5. This needs to be streamlined to enhance its utility!

Luma Dream Machine has one major strength: the image quality can be genuinely impressive. When it works, the visuals are sharp, detailed, cinematic, and often beautiful enough for polished one-off ads or short visual experiments.
But as a tool for creating actual mini clips or consistent story scenes, it becomes very frustrating fast. The biggest issue is control. The app “dreams” too much, like way too much. Even with very clear prompts, it often invents its own version of the scene instead of simply animating what was asked. It changes the action, adds unwanted movement, creates extra gestures, shifts the background, or ignores the exact timing of the requested moment.
It also struggles with continuity. Faces, hands, props, clothing, and scene layout can drift from frame to frame, which makes it hard to use for serialized content, storytelling, or scenes where identity and composition need to stay locked. For creators building mini episodes, this is a serious limitation.
The tool feels better suited for beautiful single-use shots, mood clips, or quick advertising visuals than for controlled cinematic storytelling. The output can look amazing, but the lack of precision makes it unreliable when you need a character to perform one simple action exactly as described.

Lack of Transparency
Luma makes tracking your credit usage unnecessarily difficult. Unlike most AI video platforms that clearly display the credit cost for each model upfront, Luma hides this information. You have to navigate to one tab to see credits used and then to another just to find your balance. Even then, the balance is shown only as a percentage rather than a raw number, making it nearly impossible to keep an accurate running tally.The paywall is equally vague; after only two free videos, I was prompted to subscribe, yet none of the plans actually specify how many credits you receive for your money. It’s hard to justify a subscription when the basic cost and balance metrics are so non-transparent

The monthly credit system completely ruins the experience. You only get a few generations, and once the AI makes a mistake, you’re forced to wait an entire month just to try again. No one is paying $100 just for more credits, especially when the AI still makes basic errors. You’re not getting better quality — just more attempts. For the price they’re charging, you could buy something actually useful instead of wasting money on an app that locks you out for weeks. Only download this if you don’t mind spending a lot for very little in return. Most of the 5‑star reviews are from 2024–2025. The app hasn’t been supported the same way in 2026, and the developers stopped replying to reviews after January. New users aren’t getting the experience those old reviews describe. The monthly credit system makes the app almost unusable for new users. If the AI makes a mistake, you’re forced to wait an entire month just to try again. The app charges premium prices, but the AI still makes basic mistakes. Paying $100 only gives you more attempts, not better results.
