Selecting Stations

App isn’t user friendly when selecting specific trains for daily commute. App is unclear when determining inbound/ outbound directions.

Great for viewing Train Locations

This is the only app that gives me a real-time view of the actual GPS location of any given MARC train. So I can compare against the official MARC train status-texts, to accurately gauge where my Penn Line train is located and when it is likely to arrive at my train platform.

Not accurate

First day using it. Posts the times my inbound train is supposed to be there not actual times (we are early). Says it terminates in Silver Spring in about 25 minutes when, in fact, we just pulled out of SS heading to Union Station

Good app

It’s the best app for seeing where your Marc train is

Crashes

App crashes frequently

Response from developer

We’re currently working to address this issues as well as other issues with our downstream data providers. Apologies for any inconvenience we’ve caused, and we should hopefully fix these issues ASAP. In the meantime, for a perhaps better experience, use the web version (https://marcmap.app)

Useless

Sitting here trying to find out about my North bound trains, all I’m getting is South bound, of course we’ll I’m at Penn station it might help.

Response from developer

Support for seeing all timetable trains (even trains that are not currently tracked) is coming very soon. For your particular situation, it may have been that no activity moving Northbound trains were inbound to your station. If there was one, please submit an issue on the github repo: https://github.com/qpxdesign/marc-map-ios

Useless. Does nothing.

I expected to see a list of trains and their departure times. Instead, sitting here at union station, the app tells me only the schedule of the very next southbound train. So, you can’t use it for northbound trains and you can’t look up a particular train.

Response from developer

Support for seeing all timetable trains (all future trains/scheduled trains) is coming very soon. Apologies for not including this in initial release, but as a one-person development team doing this completely for free, I was not able to get this working in a reasonable amount of time.
