Everything was good until I had an issue - customer service was very focused on telling I was wrong vs. working through differing experiences.
Rates are good
Some people are scared of an online bank because you can’t get your cash fast. I have never had a problem. Plus rates are good.
Non existent customer service
Tried to liquidate a no penalty CD and due to Marcus errors- it took 15 days and ten phone calls to accomplish.
Locked out of app with no resolution from support
Shortly after using the app, I started to get an error when logging in that said I was locked out of my account and needed to call a number to get it resolved. Notably I could login from a browser just fine so it was just a problem with the app. After several weeks and many, many calls, their resolution was simply to tell me to use Google Chrome instead. Why have an app if it doesn’t work… A very frustrating customer service experience that led nowhere.

Solid App
One of the better financial apps. My experience with Marcus has been great, easy to use, best functions. My only complaint is they no longer offer higher interest rates than their competitors -will be moving money out to earn better rate.

I made the mistake of leaving Marcus for a few months for another online savings account bank…simply for a slightly higher interest rate. Big mistake!! They were terrible…took over a week to get my money back into my linked account when making withdrawal and deposited money took forever to clear, losing many days (over a week) of interest per deposit. I’m back with Marcus…permanently…you simply cannot find a competing online savings account that has same day transfers when making a withdrawal, quick availability of deposited funds…great customer service…the chats connect immediately with a live person…and towards the top for competitive interest rates. Wish I never left in the first place. I missed out on the bonus they had while I was gone.

Beautiful flawed app
I’ve liked using this app for several years. The interface is clean and is visually pleasing. The only issue I’ve had recently is editing recurring or scheduled transfers. It appears the developer forgot to add that to the interface. I can set up the transfers easily but there is no place to edit or stop them. I would have to disconnect the external bank account which is annoying.

Wtf is this?
I tried to make an account and then it said the password was incorrect so I tried to send an email to change my password but the email would go through so I ended up redoing the entire application with a different email and they asked me to call them to confirm the information. So I did exactly that, and then they got a bunch of my personal information like my address, my SSN, and date of birth and then they told me i couldn’t make an account with them and wouldn’t tell me why because of “security reasons”. I asked them if they’re implying that IM not ME and they still wouldn’t tell me anything. I asked them if there’s any way I can make an account they they told me no. So honestly this really just wasted my time. Do not make an account with Marcus.
