Repeated fulfillment failures and useless credits
I canceled Marley Spoon after weeks of delivery and fulfillment problems, including delays, missing ingredients, substitutions, incomplete meals, and painfully slow customer service.
The final straw was my last box. It was supposed to contain 8 meals. Marley Spoon contacted me beforehand saying 2 meals would be unavailable and issued account credit for them, so I expected the remaining 6 meals. The box arrived with only 4. They failed to even notify me that two additional meals were missing.
Even worse, their standard solution throughout all of these problems has been account credit toward future orders. My final box was actually purchased using credits I had accumulated because of problems with previous paid boxes—and even THAT box arrived substantially incomplete.
Credits are not meaningful compensation when customers are repeatedly having problems with the service they are being asked to order from again.
I have spent far too much time reporting issues, waiting for responses, and trying to get orders I already paid for properly fulfilled. I canceled because I completely lost confidence in Marley Spoon’s ability to reliably deliver what I ordered.
At this point, I don’t want more credits. I want the money I actually paid for my previous failed orders refunded.
Meal delivery is supposed to save time and make life easier. Marley Spoon accomplished the exact opposite.

Broken
They have switched something and now don’t send all the ingredients for a recipe. When you ask to have the recipe refunded they refund individual ingredients and leave you with half of a recipe.
Not the best
The premade microwaveable dinners are not that good, and I had constant problems with the wrong items being delivered or being inedible. It didn’t help that FedEx delivered my boxes late several times, and often in terrible condition. Customer service was not particularly helpful, and sent me form letter answers which did not address my concerns. When I responded, they ghosted me.

Does the team have any product people? Try to “invite a friend”. You can type in their name and email. Bleh. Or create a shareable link. But when you create the link, you can’t copy it. It’s there. You can tap it but that only leads you to canceling it. This is insanitary.
Need to optimize app for iPad
It is super annoying to open this app in iPad and have it force you to vertical orientation. The iPad app needs to be optimized for horizontal - since that is the way that everyone using an iPad case with keypad uses the device. Shocking that this has not been corrected by now. Otherwise the app performs fine.
