Poorly designed and practically useless
Matrix makes some very good fitness equipment, but unfortunately the Matrix app is nowhere near the same standard.
The company promotes integration between its equipment and the app, yet the app’s design and functionality seem completely disconnected from how that integration should actually work. It is confusing, unintuitive, and unnecessarily difficult to use.
What makes this even more frustrating is that other fitness brands have figured this out. Their apps allow you to easily pair your phone with a machine, track your workout, and keep your training history, even when you are traveling and using equipment at a hotel.
With Matrix, I cannot get that same seamless experience. The app does not feel like an extension of the equipment; it feels like a separate product that was designed without the actual user experience in mind.
Matrix needs to completely rethink the app and how it integrates with its equipment. Great machines deserve a much better digital experience. As it stands, the app is essentially useless to me.

Useless App
Immediately have to try to find your "club" by name. No idea. Make it just connect easily to the device you're using -- it's not that hard! Clearly you've chosen not to innovate.

App doesn’t work
As soon as this app loads it asks you to put in a gym code. I asked my gym, they didn’t have one, they asked the repair rep, they had never heard of one! I sent a text message via the internet to Johnson and heard nothing back either by phone number or email. I don’t recommend this app!!! This is my first comment ever on any app! That should tell you something!!

Requires a Code
Asks for a code from the start, no one knows what it is. Why can’t we just use the app with the machines, it doesn’t have to verified

No code no entry
I saw the review from three years ago and thought it best to try anyway. Assumed an update could have come. It has not. You require that gym code to use this app. Oh well. Guess I’ll be a guest forever.
