Canceling

They’re canceling the app to save money so they can charge the patients more. Another great move for corporations and a bad move for health care.

App works very well for me

I’ve not had one problem with app 2001. Does exactly like it supposed…contacting my physician when needed.

Needs work

App stuck. Cannot log in.

Sorely lacking. Cannot see landscape view or what I have paid

There are just so many web designers out there who can do a much, much, much better job with this MDVIP app. When a person pays for a service the app should Always have the account info right there in the app.

Doesn’t work at all

That says it all. Sign up. Log in. It just spins. Believe it or not, not every activity needs an app. If you can’t make an app work, just use a website.

Be wary. Bad app, worse system.

If you are being sold this MDVIP system, be aware: this app, it doesn’t function. It’s used as a selling point, but in practice doesn’t work. Moreover, this whole idea of MDVIP is nothing more than doctors slimming their work load (which is understandable, I’ll concede) but… when you read MDVIP’s “pitch,” there’s plenty about new panels and more comprehensive care, etc. But enrolling and agreeing to use this service, or if your doctor is switching over? First, you might be booted from the practice if you don’t pay (real, and in most cases, the outcome). So, pay to keep your doctor, keep continuity of care. Or don’t, and find another doctor on your own. The worst is how the sales pitch about new screening and testing panels and preventative care… that’s all standard of care, and should not require *additional** out of pocket premium *on top* of what you already pay. Eg deductibles and co-pays. Which brings up the second part: being part of MDVIP doesn’t mean your insurance will magically cover new panels, tests, or preventative care. They are still, very much, the gatekeepers. Your insurance will still have to approve or reject any extra care, panels, tests, MDVIP or not. So, what is this, really? It’s pay to play. It means only a slice of the public is allowed to keep their primary care doctor. The slice who can pay. Period.

App doesn’t load

I’m seeing reviews as old as 7 years showing the app having long term problems and they still are not resolved

Useless app

After installing the app, it never worked over the span of a week. Every time I opened it, it said “loading” with a spinning wheel and never actually loaded, even after I just let it run for over an hour. Ridiculous

Not great

App is worthless. Never seen an app with less information

App does not work

Just a spinning loading indicator

Fax machine is better

Don’t bother with this app. A fax machine may be better. They’ve put minimal effort into it. The docs in the group themselves are great - you’re better off calling or emailing your dr directly

Useless

This is a useless app.
There’s no information on this app that is of any benefit except to MDVIP.
There’s no information about recipes or newsletters. They used to be a patient access portal that had that they had before.
I know they have it on the Doctors app but the patient should have access to that information. I think we can pick out a recipe on our own without having to have a doctor show it to us.
There is no value in having this app. Pay your bills in normal way. And keep this piece of junk off your phone.

Useless

Using the app is useless. You have to have a laptop/tablet to use all the benefits offered. I don’t carry my tablet/laptop with me!
Deleting from my phone

Payment feature inaccurate

I received a bill and it stated that I could pay on the app.
I downloaded the app and it shows I don’t owe any money which is inaccurate. I do owe the money.

Technical Disaster

Absolutely awful from day one… the only functioning part is there persistence in asking for payment. The App is awful, payments are ‘received’ thru the app but then billing isn’t updated and they’ll ask again and again and again. Like everywhere else they take your money/fees instantly but refunds or overages are returned to your account at a snails pace (4-6 weeks). Customer Service is professional but helpless with solving app issues, yet ready to accept another payment even if your account doesn’t reflect that any payment is due OR you’re waiting on a refund check! It’s enough of a headache/problem to advise others to never join or let your membership expire and look for another practice without this catastrophic healthcare plan!

Completely worthless

Once signed in the app just spins and spins, stuck on the message screen.

Terrible

For as much as we pay for this service, you’d think we could get a working app. It doesn’t load, and if it does it says there’s an error. My appointments don’t show up, my messages do not work. It’s pointless to have. Just contact your doctor directly and use the website.

Can’t open app

Can’t even open the app on my iPhone. Open and closes right there. Surprised they don’t fix it. MDVIP service costs good money, one would expect they keep the app updated and running. Not a good sign.

Time for face ID

It’s pretty tiresome that a few years later and I still need to remember my username and password every few days to use this app.

Only messaging

Here close to end of July 2024 and the last update was 7 months ago. The messaging app works but feels a bit dated. If the dev team is looking for enhancements, check Kaiser Permanente’s app or perhaps try to be proactive
