Very disappointing customer service experience!
Megabus cancelled my Toronto to Montreal trip on the same day of travel due to operational issues. My original bus was scheduled for 10:00 AM, and because I had commitments in Montreal, I had to purchase the earliest replacement ticket available.
Megabus later said they had sent instructions to refund or reschedule at no additional cost, but that email was sent at 12:02 PM, 2 hours after the cancelation!!!! The no-cost rescheduling option was not practically available to me in time, I was not going to sit and wait! I had commitments!
I ended up paying an additional $146.90 for another Megabus ticket on the same route and same day. Megabus refused monetary reimbursement and only offered a 50% future travel credit, even though the extra cost was caused by their same-day cancellation and delayed communication.
My support ticket was then closed TWICE without properly addressing my final request for reimbursement.
I am not satisfied with how this was handled, and this experience has seriously affected my confidence in using Megabus!

Might as well use the website
The app makes you log in every time you use it (unless you are browsing trips). I find it easier to pull up the email with my trip information than use the app because the confirmation number is all the driver is interested in.
Don’t book until…
Don’t book until you are sure that you are going to use it, no refunds, only exchange with fees. Not even able to credit your account for later travel.
Absolutely awful company and UI
Using this app and trying to rebook a ticket is giving me a brain aneurysm. Actually one of the worst companies I’ve ever had the displeasure of booking something through.
Does not Have minor cities
The app makes it impossible to search non major cities within states as origins/destinations. So this is only useful of you are going to a handful of cities across the country instead of a daily commuter like the app claims.
