No sign of life in the app to know if it has been working

Updated: can’t even get the app to get past the logo screen today! $10k surgery to get an ILR, and then everything depends on this lousy app to get the data from it. Or not. Clinic calling me telling me they not getting the data.

How often should the mymerlin app show that it is interacting with the ILR? You can see the history list is blank even though it says it will show clinic transmissions.
I would assume that means when the app transmits data to the clinic, but who now’s. No way for me to tell.

Lousy UI design to give no way to show it is properly linked and sending the data my physician wants.

Makes me think I need to waste a bunch of time on the phone with the clinic, or their tech support, neither of which probably can answer any real questions, then waiting for a callback for who knows how long from the clinic that will inevitably come when I am busy or can’t take the call.

This lack of proper communication from the app and reassurance of proper operation is so inconsiderate of the patient.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit against them for causing unnecessary anxiety, anguish, and distress to the patients.

Junk

Just junk. Doesn’t connect can’t find the device serial number and birthdate say invalid. Glad I got my chest cut open to have sub standard junk put in that I had to pay an arm and leg for.

Somewhat lacking

There are a VERY limited array of symptoms that can be entered during an episode. Those offered are very often not very descriptive of the symptoms being experienced. If there was an additional block to enter a more accurate description of the episode it would go a very long way in improving this app.
Also it can take up to twenty minutes for the app to download the information from the implant. During this time you cannot use the phone or the app will reset and not record the episode.

Crashes and disappears

This app is terrible at best, as is your OR REP who misled me when I agreed to have the device implanted.
This app froze and I was unable to get it to function at all, so I tried to delete the app, which I did… but I was unable to reinstall it. Apparently it still exists but the icon disappeared when I deleted the app and I can’t download it but I can open it from the App Store.
No time to continue!!!!!

Could use improvement

I try to keep the app up and running in the background, and I check it often to make sure it still is. However- for the last week or two it’s been closing randomly many times through the day, which is frustrating.

FAQ

What does the myMerlin™ app do?

The myMerlin™ app works with an Abbott Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) to continuously monitor your heart rhythm. It securely transmits this data to your doctor and allows you to log symptomatic events. This helps your healthcare provider gather information about your heart's rhythm.

How does the app help monitor my heart?

The app facilitates the continuous monitoring of your heart rhythm by your ICM device. It automatically records significant events and allows you to manually record symptoms you experience. This data is then transmitted to your doctor for review.

Is this app free to use?

Based on the provided information, the app itself is free to download and use. However, it requires a prescription-only Abbott Insertable Cardiac Monitor to function, and the cost of the device and associated medical services is separate.

What devices is the myMerlin™ app compatible with?

This app will only function when paired with an Abbott Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM). The ICM is an implantable device that is available by prescription only.

Can I use this app for medical advice?

No, the app explicitly states that it does not provide any health services or medical advice. If you suspect a medical emergency, you should seek immediate attention from local emergency services or your healthcare provider.
