Pointless
The only thing you can do in the US for EVs is turn on climate control. Zero widgets, zero shortcut access, makes you login every single time and constantly doesn’t connect. Fix this, VW!!!!!
Not ready for prime time
The app works about 60% of the time. Same for remote key fob starting, and yes, batteries have been replaced
Location sensing leaves a lot to be desired
The location data update is really slow and doesn’t place where my car is sometimes not at all
Terrible app
If I could give zero stars I would. I just paid my $9.99 for this app to not be able to start my car or even lock my doors. I want my money back as soon as possible!
This app keeps getting worse and worse
When we first bought our ID.4 this app was nice. We were able to check out the battery level, change charging limit, start and stop charging and start and stop the climate control. We were able to see the status of the doors and such. The location services wasn’t great but at least the other features worked
Over the last year, VW has released a few updates. Maybe a better term would be a downgrade. Each update has broken a feature one by one until finally now nothing works on it. I have never seen anything as inept as this in my life

Remote start
Half the time or maybe more than half the time. The remote start doesn’t work. Also other car apps can control the temp if the car…. Well you CAN’T with this app. Just a heads up
Connectivity Issues
Every other day, I continue to have issues with this app. Especially the remote start. The app lacks options to include the length of the remote start and the ability to extend it to a certain length. Hot climates need more then 10 minutes to cool a car down. My Ford allows 15 mins and as soon as it remote starts, it gives an option to extend. This doubles the time. Atleast do that so when the app does work, we don’t have to monitor it and wait for it to shut down to restart.

Navigation system
Love my 2025 Atlas; however, the navigation system keeps shutting off periodically, while in use, which is annoying. That needs an upgrade or improvement.

Another Dealer call
So tired of warning lights and safety issues. No return call for VW customer service. Replace key battery light just came on. Leaving in the morning for vacation.

Absolutely hate the app and the starter. Constant issues with the app and the remote starter. So frustrating

Alert notifications delayed and lock/unlock feature doesn’t always work
Unreliable
Just had to walk back across a very large campus because my app failed to unlock my car and I didn’t have my keys with me - I had luggage with me. Fabulous. Not the first time that this app is unable to complete its only function. Don’t rely on it to unlock or start your car.
Useful app however…
I purchased my car in November 2024 and the Volkswagen app was not working until June 2025. I don’t know how many departments they had to escalated to. What a horrible user experience especially for a brand new vehicle. Secondly, I would like to make a recommendation for you to remove the pin code for auto start. Face ID or fingerprint is perfectly fine. Also, when you auto start your car from the app and you go into your vehicle and press the brake and the start button it shuts the vehicle off. There seems to be a bug and it needs to be updated. One last thing. When using Apple CarPlay, only my phone disconnects through my drive. However, when I am using my android phone, it does not disconnect. Another software bug.

Sometimes the app works most of the times it doesn’t. Very inconvenient and inconsistent. Nobody seems to know what’s going on.

App literally never works or updates!

Missing two many features commonly found on other electric vehicle apps. I can’t even lock my doors from the application in 2026. Bonkers.
Garbage Options and Information
To slow, to clunky, lack of important information and constantly with glitches and frozen navigation options.
Error: Something went wrong try later
It’s not consistent. Most of the time it’s working but sometimes have connection issues, giving errors, showing that doors unlocked. Maybe it’s not about the app, maybe the car itself looses internet connection. My car is 2024 Tiguan R line.
