Can’t test drive the app before deciding to purchase monthly subscription
I really like the idea of this app, but the fact that it will not let you even try the app before you decide to purchase the monthly subscription is upsetting. I need to be able to find something that works for me FIRST before committing to paying $8 monthly. I understand that it may not seem like a significant amount to pay a month, but I don’t even know what I’m paying for when trying to use the app for the first time! There’s no way to see the features of the app because you cannot in any way bypass the screen telling you to purchase a subscription.
After reading the reviews I do understand it from the developers point of view: it’s not cheap to develop an app. However it’s terrible that there’s not even a free trial period before making me commit to giving you $8 every month.
Gonna have to look for another app. Best of luck to everyone trying to find something that works for them.
Great
doesn’t offer much
Data missing
However, when you fill in your anxiety levels - the data can just disappear. So it’s impossible to track it. It’s quite a big issue, please fix it.
And the subscription price is too high for Russian App Store. Please lower it.
You have to pay to use this app
Fraud
Expensive and very buggy
As I said, Ali’s videos are amazing and I find them helpful, but I have noticed her videos these days focusing too much on the app since the app came out. Pushing too hard for an app that should have a one time fee at most. This has kind of put me off. The idea that this is the same amount of money as a cup of coffee so it should be worth it is a terrible argument. I don’t buy coffee, and I won’t pay $7 for an unnecessary app.
Very useful but can’t edit notes
A must have if you are recovering from OCD
There are also books, ocd ressources, tests, quotes etc
No Benefit Without $$
The developer of the OCD app contacted me after my above review was posted. Their response was that it is in fact very expensive to develop an app and that an $8 subscription is the cost of coffee and a sandwich. I agree, but my point is that it isn’t just a one time purchase of a cup of coffee rather it is monthly purchase that does add up! The issue I have is that no matter how good the app may be, you can’t even try it out without paying for and committing to a paid subscription. Give us a little something for free or a free month trial that you can cancel or keep depending on the experience.
The other big issue I have is that the developer is still being disingenuous with me by simply asking me to update my review based on their costs to develop the app. I don’t care if it costs $100 a month, I just need to be able to test drive it prior to purchase.
Response from developer
Thank you for your comment. It is an unbelievably expensive process to make an app. The subscription is about $8 which is a price of a coffee and maybe a sandwich. However for only $8 this app will help you stay accountable and actually finish your recovery OCD recovery.
Disgusting
