Supports the dismissive communication

I've been using this app now for about 4 months. The way it responds supports the dismissive avoidant behavior so that you don't trigger the avoidant rather than help to communicate effectively. It's dangerous in that the app convinces the anxious that what they are doing and saying is wrong when it's really just teaching you how to succumb.

Response from developer

Thank you for spending four months with Olively and for taking the time to write this. We're constantly working to improve Olively, and feedback from someone who's used the app this deeply is invaluable to us. We'd be grateful to hear more about your experience so we can improve: contact@olively.app. -Zach, Olively

Crazy and mean

This app is crazy and mean. It’s supposed to help with attachment styles but it’s so argumentative. It doesn’t tell you how to get your person back. It kept telling me to leave him alone and when I asked for advice it refused to give me advice. Like 3xs. So much attitude.

Poor Customer Service

The team will not refund me after the trial ended and I could not cancel my subscription. I have never experienced such lack of empathy and unwillingness to cooperate. Refusing to refund me $70 is great for my anxiety, thank you!

Does not listen to you

Awful app. does not help you whatsoever. gives corny text suggestions and refuses to answer your questions because it thinks it’s “protecting you”. it’s a bot that should be able to do as i ask.

can only use if you pay

Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion

FAQ

What does Olively do?

Olively acts as a communication translator for relationships, helping partners understand each other by rephrasing messages based on attachment theory. It aims to reduce conflict and improve connection by making communication clearer and less triggering.

How does Olively help with communication?

The app allows you to type what you want to say, and it rewrites it to be better received by your partner, showing you the 'Trigger Risk.' It also helps you decode what your partner actually meant versus what your own attachment style might have interpreted, offering suggested responses.

Is Olively free to use?

The app offers a free version with in-app purchases. While you can access core features and some content, certain programs, advanced insights, or unlimited translations may require purchase.

What is attachment theory and how does Olively use it?

Attachment theory explains how early relationships shape our adult connection patterns. Olively uses this science to tailor translations and insights to your specific attachment style (anxious, avoidant, secure) and your partner's, helping you understand why you communicate and react the way you do.

Who is Olively for?

This app is designed for individuals who feel misunderstood in their relationships, often due to differing communication styles stemming from attachment differences. It's for those who have been called 'too much' or 'emotionally unavailable' and want to break recurring arguments by improving how they express themselves and interpret their partner.
