Great app - when it worked
I’ve used this app for quite a while. Loved it. It saved me a lot of money. However, it will not stay connected to my bank account anymore, no matter how many times I reconnect it. Cancelled my subscription because it’s useless now.

Terms and conditions
I I’ve been using this app for a couple years now. I just had to reconnect my bank account and I read their terms and conditions. It basically gives them full access to all your transactions and anything in your bank account from a third-party. I’m not sure if this is something new or if I just didn’t know about it. If you do plan to connect your bank account READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!!!!!! I feel really bad about this review because I have used this app for a very long time.

Opportun is a Nice Save
I have had this for years, would and will recommend this because I trust the way they operate even though their is rocket money this app is made for saving for your goals or saving on the side, it literally takes a few dollars for each goal each day and by the time you hit next month your like “ W T F!! I have this much money saved?!,!”
Also just a note might have found a big issue glitch that needs to be addressed asap

Customer Service
I used Oportun somewhere between 3-5+ years and enjoyed the app and had saved a considerable amount using the app. All of a sudden the app disconnects from my bank and I tried to re-connect it didn’t work. Turns out it was something technical on Oportuns end. I expected someone to take the time to understand my situation and explore options with me. Instead I felt as if I were left to figure it out on my own. What’s more frustrating is that after voicing numerous concerns zero help was ever offered. Even if there were limitations on what Oportun could assist me with, I would have appreciated someone explaining what my options were and making a real effort to assist me. Good customer service should be a forefront of any business. Unfortunately that was not my experience and I would have a hard time recommending this app to others.

Disconnects frequently
I love the concept for set it and forget, I’ve saved a lot more without thinking or noticing which I love.
My gripe is that it frequently disconnects from my bank account, every few weeks. This has been going on the 1.5 years I’ve been using the app but the frequency seems to be more recently.

Fast and Easy Loan processor
They approved me $500 but then when i connected my bank account, they gave me $2500 and loan process was only for 30 minutes and boom money in your account

I do not do reviews but this app has helped me so much money! I love it!! The only thing I wish I could do is open another account for my joint account that I have with my significant other.
I have not gotten along with them. I only use the portion of the app that helps me save money without me having to think about it. I’ve looked at other money, saving apps, and nothing compares to this one.

This app has helped me save money. I don’t know what I’d do without it.
Stole my money
This app randomly took 800+ dollars out of my account. Disconnected my bank account then told me the only way I can get my money back is if I send proof of residency so they can mail me my money. I send the proof of residency and now they are telling me they can’t find the transaction and how much was taken out because my bank is no longer connected. Please stay far far away from this app. It’s been a month and I still haven’t received my money. And my family is struggling to eat. Disgusting.

Bank won’t connect for months
I’ve been using this service since it was Digit, where you could link your account, set up auto pay for phone, credit cards, car, etc and it would monitor and save and make the payments for you. Honestly so cool.
Ever since becoming Oportun, things have been going downhill. They don’t do auto payments anymore, prices are okay I guess, and I’ve been having WAY more technical issues which is my main reason for closing my account after so many years. I truly LOVED this app and told friends about it.
