A Transformative Experience
Also, I'm recovering from depression and navigating perimenopause, both of which have affected my cognitive function. These lessons help me get out of my head and reconnect with my body, leaving me feeling calmer, clearer, and more present. I'm very grateful I found this app and would gladly recommend it.

The gentle, mindful movements helped me identify and shift the subtle, bad posture habits I had developed to protect my joints. Pauseture is teaching me how to move with ease, efficiency, and zero strain. Response from developer
Thank you for this — "it doesn't just treat the symptoms, it teaches how to move throughout the day" is exactly what Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement is designed to do. Your brain is literally learning new movement options, and your joints get to stop bracing. So glad Pauseture is bringing you relief and ease. Keep exploring the library — there is so much more waiting for you. — Beverly, Founder
Skeptical at first, but now a believer!
But, Pauseture is great for me because there is no ambient noise and there is no right or wrong way to perform a movement. I can just tune in and listen to where my body is on that specific day.
And, the text reminders are gentle nudges that I actually welcome.
I started Pauseture because of back pain from sitting at a desk all day. After using Pauseture for a couple months, my back pain has definitely decreased. I continue to maintain my back health but have also become more aware of the rest of my body. The Pauseture library is a great resource to fine tune my exercise plan based on my body’s constantly changing needs. Give it a try!

Thank you for taking the time to share you went from skeptic to appreciating the use of our app. Back pain from sitting at a desk all day is rarely just about the back — it's about how the whole body has organized itself around that position over time. The fact that you're now noticing the rest of your body is exactly the right direction. That whole-body awareness is where the lasting change comes from. Keep exploring. The library will meet you wherever you are. You can choose lying down lessons when wanting to relax. Or you can filter for a seated lesson while will improve your awareness how you're sitting, so you can find greater comfort in sitting.— Beverly, Founder
Good Daily Exercise
Response from developer
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I'm glad it helps you establish a daily practice. Spending time giving attention to your body is what we're all about. Our audio lessons work differently than traditional stretching or exercise: it's a way for your nervous system to better integrate how your mind and body communicate, so you can do things with greater efficiency and less effort. The audio-only format can be confusing and possibly frustrating, at times, and that is by design, as your brain changes the most when you find change from the inside out, instead of copying a demonstration. It's a practice to get into a beginner's mindset about our own body, that can have amazing results over time - Beverly, Founder

Thank you for sharing your experience. With regular practice, people often notice that as tension eases, movement feels more coordinated and balanced. Rather than effort coming from isolated areas, the body begins to move more as a whole, which can make daily activities feel more comfortable over time. We appreciate you recommending Pauseture.
Much more than I expected!

Thank you for bringing your physical therapy background to the practice. "The impact is big for a short time investment" is exactly what we hope people discover. The second set of 21 lessons (20 to 30 minute lessons) is where many people find even deeper changes. So grateful to have a PT experience this firsthand. The Feldenkrais Method is a wonderful complement to any PT program. - Beverly, Founder
Wow! 😍

Thank you! Bite-sized and accessible was exactly the goal. There are free ATM recordings online, but sound quality was the #1 priority for when building Pauseture — especially for sound-sensitive people like me. Guild Certified teachers, studio-quality recordings, at a price that doesn't require a second thought. So glad it's landing that way. - Beverly, Founder
Love it!

Thank you, Lisa. When we focus on how we move, our brains quiet the overthinking and turns up presence. Calm opens up new choices. So glad you found it. - Beverly, Founder

Loving this app
Feel great
Response from developer
Thank you for sticking with it even when listening without demonstrations felt challenging at first. I also have ADHD and have found that my listening skills improved with consistent practice. It sounds like that may be happening for you too. That curiosity, staying with the discomfort rather than quitting, is exactly how neuroplastic change happens. Better listening, karate and surfing — these are exactly the kinds of benefits I had hoped for when creating Pauseture. — Beverly, Founder
Very helpful app

Thank you for sharing this. I’m so glad to hear the lessons are helping and that you’re already noticing less back pain. Many people come to Pauseture looking for relief and discover something surprising: it’s not about doing the movements perfectly, but about bringing awareness to how you move and making small adjustments. Often the people who find relief sooner are the ones who experiment with "doing less" and moving more comfortably as they explore the lessons. I really appreciate you recommending it to others. — Beverly Atkins, Founder
Pickleball Game Changer
Response from developer
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review and encourage others to try Pauseture. This is exactly why I built it — to help people find more comfort and joy in the things they love doing. Some people find joy simply in doing the lessons. Others use them to support the activities they care about, like being on the pickleball court. What you noticed is also really interesting. While traditional core work focuses on strengthening specific muscles, these lessons help your nervous system organize how all the muscles work together. When the body coordinates more efficiently, people often feel stronger, more connected, and able to generate more power in their reach and return. I’m so glad it’s helping you play with more ease and without pain. Thank you again for sharing your experience. - Beverly Atkins, Founder
Amazingly Helpful!!
Response from developer
Thank you for this thoughtful reflection. What you described — noticing how you’re moving, how you’re lying down, where you’re holding tension — is exactly where change begins. It’s truly in the awareness, not the movements alone, that supports injury recovery, muscle balance, and nervous system regulation. As you mentioned, letting go of trying to do it “correctly” is part of the power of the method. Many of us have been conditioned to perform. Returning to a more childlike curiosity — the way we first learned to move — is what allows the nervous system to reorganize. Hearing that it’s supporting your recovery and sleep is exactly why I care so much about making this work accessible. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Beverly Atkins, Founder
Unexpectedly effective
Within a few weeks, I noticed less tension in my neck, shoulders and back.
These aren’t workouts. Maybe workout for listening skills and brain training.
For anyone skeptical, i say trust the process of these practical lessons.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I’m glad you gave it a few lessons to get used to a new approach without demonstrations. Many people who haven’t connected with yoga appreciate focusing on what feels good for them, rather than mimicking what feels good for a teacher. That shift often helps people discover movement that works well in their own body. I’m especially glad to hear you’ve noticed a reduction in tension over time. That’s exactly why I built Pauseture — to make this work more accessible and affordable for more people. Beverly Atkins, Founder
Simple but effective

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad the 21-lesson introductory series helped you ease in, and that the longer lessons are supporting deeper shifts. Hearing that you’re sleeping better and feeling calmer means a lot. I appreciate you taking the time to try Pauseture and for recommending the free trial to others who may be unsure. I'm truly grateful to people who help us to bring Pauseture to more people because feeling good should not be a luxury. Beverly Atkins, Founder
Just finished the 21 starter lessons
Response from developer
Thank you for sharing your experience. Not feeling anything at first is common. When it feels like nothing is happening, the nervous system is often still orienting and learning. Staying curious through that phase is what allows changes to show up later, often in subtle, everyday ways. We’re glad you noticed that shift.

Gentle practice works
I decided to commit to the 21-lesson starter series anyway. Over time, I began to see that my frustration was part of the problem. I was trying too hard to do everything “correctly.” Once I let go of that and trusted the audio guidance, something shifted. Not having to watch a screen allowed me to relax and actually focus on what I was feeling. Sometimes I even fall asleep during a lesson. I just return to it later when I’m more alert.
As I started moving more slowly and gently, I realized how much of my pain was coming from chronic tension. The smaller and easier I made the movements, the safer my body felt—and the more comfortably I could move. As my body awareness improved, my physical therapist even noticed a difference in how I respond to movement cues.
The starter series made it easy to build a daily practice, and as I’ve explored longer lessons, I’ve noticed further improvements in both comfort and awareness. I also appreciate the variety of teachers and the ability to filter by voice and lesson style.
I’m not 100%, and I wouldn’t say this app is a complete solution for chronic pain. But it has become a helpful and supportive part of my ongoing care. If you’re willing to be patient and give it a real chance, Pauseture can be a valuable tool for managing chronic pain.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a reflective review. I appreciate you naming both the initial frustration and what shifted for you over time. That moment of letting go of doing things “correctly,” slowing down, and trusting sensation is at the heart of how Pauseture is designed to work. I’m glad the audio-only guidance, the starter series, and the ability to revisit lessons supported you in building a practice that feels safer and more sustainable—and that your increased body awareness carried over into your work with your physical therapist. I also appreciate your clarity in saying Pauseture isn’t a complete solution for chronic pain, but a supportive part of ongoing care. That distinction matters. Thank you for your patience, curiosity, and for giving the process a real chance. Thank you for allowing Pauseture to be a part of your healing journey. --Beverly Atkins Founder, Pauseture
