Fantastic App but,

For whatever reason it won’t let me use the same brand name on multiple objects. I have multiple Lamy nibs, but if I select Lamy from my brand list, it removes it from the nib I had previously put it on. I have to add a new brand every time, so now Lamy is in my brand list multiple times.

Hi! Yes, this is a bug that got introduced in the previous version. I’m working on the fix and it will be fixed in the upcoming 2025.6 version release. Good app, a few issues.

Nice features! Really like the new ability to track nibs. However, I am finding some issues with the nib tracking feature:
1) Keeps forgetting the Brand on several of the entries.
2) Can’t select no acquisition date (if turned off, displays date of entry).
3) Missing a nib icon for Medium…a nit, but, if including things like Zoom and CI, should have the full set of standard nib sizes.

Syncing between my iPhone 15 Pro and iPad Pro does not seem to work as expected. The first pen and nib entries appeared on my iPad but not the other 9 and none of the 10 inks and usage entries are present.

Hi Mike, I have gotten several reports of the issues with mention regarding nib brands not saving correctly. The issue has been identified and a fix is coming in 2025.6! I have also added the Medium nib icon for 2025.6 as well. Syncing should be returned to normal as well, please reach out if you’re still having any issues after the 2025.6 update. A fix for the acquisition date toggle not being respected is coming as well. Appreciate the feedback!

Nice work helps you enjoy & manage

A nice set of features and some new ones added each year. Really great for keep tracking of how long “that ink” has been in “that pen”.

Perfect for keeping things working well and managing what and when to clean or refill. Avoid dried out pigment inks in pens or other issues.

Helps you enjoy your collection, by making it easy to view all of them and their status. Great way to notice what’s a true favorite or a neglected low-rotation gem that you should ink up and try again.

Latest update is incomplete on most Apple platforms that the app is available for now.

Penendex is a well crafted and very useful application. I have been collecting pens and inks for 40 years and my Stuff has gotten completely out of control. This app offers me an efficient way to take account of my holdings.

The developer is very helpful and responsive to customer queries and issues! I give this app six and a half stars!👍🏾

An excellent tool for managing collections & shows

Whether you only have a couple of ones & inks or are into the 100’s, this is an excellent app for managing not only your pens & inks, but also pen shows! I really love the ability to mark inked pens for cleaning, as well as the wishlist function to track our next grail.

The pen show function allows you to plan out your visit by setting your budget, listing items you want to buy, any events or classes you plan on attending at the show, and a handy map of where it’s being held.

This is easily one of the best tools the fountain pen community has available to it.

DO NOT USE if you collect pens

Pendex loses data— entire entries for pens, and all history of ink fills/cleaning. The January 2024 update erased all data I entered after late June of 2023, but retained data from January- June.

Pendex doesn’t work for collectors. The UI for “inking” a pen is incapable of distinguishing between two pens of the same model, even if they are different colors or nibs.

Pendex frustrates advocates. I was cheering for a Pacific Northwest developer. Now I regret I making the in-app purchase one year ago. I was hopeful & patient with deficiencies for a year. Including the unresponsive developer email address that rejects all feedback.

I tried using Pendex for a hobby I enjoy. Pendex detracts from enjoyment, increases frustration & friction, and creates a sense of loss.

Let this be some feedback for the developer and caution for anyone thinking this app will be fun and helpful for their fountain pen hobby.

Mostly a good app

The app works well and seems to have all of the options. 2 issues. I’d rather pay a one time fee and am not fond of subscriptions. And second the app cuts the photos down. If you have a long thin photo of a pen the app will cut the image smaller so that you only see a small section of the pen.

This app is a LIFESAVER when it comes to my pens!

I absolutely LOVE this app. I love it so much I pay for a yearly subscription, and I don’t pay for apps. This is the ONLY app I pay for because it’s THAT useful. Ever since I discovered fountain pens a few years ago, I couldn’t find a way to keep track of all of my pens and inks and currently inked that I would stick to. I would make a list and then inevitably stop using it. This app helps me keep track of all the pens and inks I own and what inks are in what pen. It just does what it’s supposed to do and it’s so easy it’s really nothing to make sure I’m keeping up with it. Absolutely LOVE it!!

Straight forward and just what I need

This is the easy to access app I have wanted a long time for! Other options out they might have more social features and the like, but that was all way more than I needed for my collection and tracking my personal use. This has worked out to be exactly what I needed to fit my life! Happily supporting the pro version to see where the iterations will go!
