App doesn’t work
There is an issue with the app now as the navigation buttons work. I see that the app hasn’t been updated in a while so may be due one.

Suddenly can not click dashboard, growth, activity and profile on the app. Unusable

It’s well set up and easy to use app and it gives you good information and options as to the risk levels you can invest your pension in.

Flexible way to see your pension grow
Joining Penfold a few years ago, the Penfold app has given me the flexibility as a self employed person to pay what I can when I can and top up extra whenever I want. The choices are simple and stress free. Highly recommend to any business / contractor unsure how much commit to paying into a pension but needing to start somewhere. Wish I’d joined sooner.

Impossible to log in
There is no option to login to the app if you have an existing account… prompts to sign up for a new account but no login option anywhere. So frustrating. I have tried deleting and re-installing the app multiple times. Looks like this is a long standing problem based on other reviews from a year ago… pretty major problem!!!

High fees, broken app and they make your life hell if you try to move out
Charging that kinda fee on top of the funds is silly and when my colleagues try to move off, it was a lengthy, broken and painful process. Would avoid at all cost if you can

I’m not sure what the barrier is to timely communication , maybe not enough staff but I’ve been waiting 2 days for someone to respond to my messages in the app.

Highly recommend Penfold, esp for self employed people. Easy to set up, they also help find your other pensions for consolidation. Payments are flexible and the info available on the app is brilliant - there’s a snapshot of how your pension is doing at any time. Love it!
Good - but let down by government contributions
I’ve been making small contributions to this personal pension app for few years now. It has good functionality, is easy to use and well developed (I’ve not noticed any bugs). Pension performance has been so-so, with on average, little in the way of profit above a normal high street savings rate. The big rip though is the 25% government top up. What the government gives with one hand, they promptly take away come self-assessment. No mention of this in the promotional blurb so something to take into consideration. Would I recommend this app over a traditional savings account? Not sure.

Garbage App
Your app is awful. Every time I try to log in it treats me like I’m a new customer (I’m not). There is no facility to go to a login page when it is trying to get me to sign up. Awful and incredibly frustrating

Only 6 weeks into using Penfold, but mostly it seems very good. I like being able to view activity at the touch of my screen, however I am still waiting for a pension at be transferred and it’s taking a few weeks, which is frustrating. Hopefully that will come through soon.
Very poor returns
My portfolio is the most aggressive one they have and it is only up 0.2% so far when the s&p500 is up 8% so far this year…. And I only joined at the end of last year, how is this possible? I will transfer elsewhere once I leave my current job as this is my employer’s choice to use them.
