Unrelaible/Illogical
I have no idea who programs this app. I have no idea what they are thinking. Im not sure if the insane way decisions are handled in government trickled down into an app like this but it is such a poorly designed interface and user experience. No reliability either. Tracking of busses and etc will just disappear randomly. Or never appear at all. Locations of stops are poorly placed so you will be right next to a stop and it will show that its down the street a little more. I am a useless cringe vibe coder and I swear I could do better. Give me that government grant and let me single handedly turn this app around.

Combines trains, trams and buses with all sorts of info for travelling and planning travel. Times and locations as well as schedules, all in a simple and easy to use app
Need better searching ability
It is frustrating that when you search for a station, the first results that come up are based on suburb name rather than station name e.g type in ‘South’, and instead of ‘South Yarra’ you get 3 other station names.

A system stuck in time
Ive travelled the world using public transport and by far this system is the worst! The lack of ease between payment options, tap on and technological integration is so out dated.. I can see why very few people actually “tap on” to use public transport as it’s a joke!
Top up failed but charged
It should have automatically just returned my transaction that never ended up on my Myki but you just took my money as well. By the sound of it no one in this scenario gets their money back. That’s a daylight robbery.
Log In Issues
Although there are many nice features, it’s quite time consuming if you want to access things like your myki account and myki balance... I recently moved houses so I’m relying on PTV a lot more now. I thought downloading the PTV app would help me see my bus and train schedules… I thought wrong. Every time I open the app I have to log in again and it’s especially irritating when you’re in a rush or you just want to access your myki balance. What’s the point of having an app for public transportation if you make your users log in every time they open the app? I’ve permanently lost my account that’s linked to my phone number and email because it claims my username is invalid, and also my birthday which I vividly remember putting in CORRECTLY is invalid. I can’t link my myki to a new account because it’s still linked to the old account that this system refuses me access to. I’m not bothered enough to contact help and support, I’m just a little annoyed at the fact that the account I’ve logged into multiple times before refuses me access today because I guess today my VERY OWN birthday is different.
If you’re a person who takes public transportation every day to work or school but don’t have 15-20 minutes every morning that you can waste trying to log into your PTV account when you just want to check your balance or bus schedule, this application isn’t ideal for you.

Don’t rely on this
It doesn’t show you the journeys properly - buses don’t even come up - and times are NOT ato be trusted - was significantly inaccurate - do not rely on - or COULD get stranded
Can’t find ‘track your bus live’
The bus stop has it’s timetable removed. A poster advertising the PTV app replaces it, claiming you can ‘track your bus live’. Nope, couldn’t find how to do that. Also, what about all the people who don’t have smart phones, or who don’t have enough data on their plans to use an app? Or who just don’t like downloading apps? What about all the people who can’t use apps? All the old people? Just put a timetable on the bus stop for goodness sake.

Broken search
Mostly ok, but the search function is complete nonsense. I search for Southern cross and almost have to type out the full name before it actually appears as it will prioritise showing me stations on the South Moran line instead! Whoever thought that was a good idea needs to be fired.

Don’t use this app to plan your journeys
The planer breaks very often and sometimes won’t even show you trains for the days your searching for. Just use it to check myki cars balance seems that is all it’s good for.
Worst Official Service App I’ve Ever Seen In My Life
The times are genuinely so inaccurate and even worse since they added the live updates. It constantly says your trains and busses are late just for you to show up and they’ve already left. Like I literally have nothing good to say about this app your genuinely better off guessing what time your train/bue/tram leaves

Rubbish
App does not work: tells me I have no internet connection when clearly I do. Gives misleading advice on trains to catch. Just does not do the job. Oddly, analogous apps around the raft of the world (I except the USA) work well.
