Can’t delete account
I log in to delete an account, and it says password incorrect, so I reset my password from the link they sent to my email. When I put in the new password, I log back in just for them to say the email or phone number is incorrect, which is impossible since they sent me a passcode to the number I have on file. No way to delete your account from the app or the website. It appears they are gathering our info for something we are unaware of. This is garbage and needs to be removed from the App Store.

Referral rewards may be marked as ineligible due to a number of factors, some of which are:
The prospective renter that you spoke to applied to live at the property prior to starting a conversation with you.
The prospective renter that you spoke to was referred to the apartment community by a third party broker or locator.
The prospective renter did not sign a lease and/or did not move into the community.
The prospective renter that you spoke to did not sign a full term (typically 12 months) lease.
You are no longer a current, full-time resident of the community with an active lease. Rewards are only issued to current residents.
You moved out of the community prior to the prospective renter moving in. Rewards are only issued to current residents.
You moved out of the property before the prospective renter had been a resident for 30, 60, or 90 days following their move-in date. The 30, 60, or 90 day move in requirement is set by your apartment community.
Please note that other restrictions may apply. Referral rewards are subject to change and availability.

I’m surprised this has so many good reviews. I can’t do anything on this app because it keeps crashing. I’ve already deleted it and reinstalled it, restarted my phone and nothing.

Crash and Burn
I’ve tried to set up a profile twice and the app keeps crashing. Now, every time I open the app it crashes again. After deleting and installing twice, I’m done.

sketchy concept
i signed up as a resident and ive helped out several people with their questions. now the only emails i get say my referral awards "have been marked as ineligible by the onsite team". i've gotten rejection emails before saying someone i spoke to didn't decide to sign a lease, so i know that's not the issue. it's like rentgrata just allows the apartment complex teams to deny someones referral money if they feel like it.

Flawed concept
I initially signed up to participate on behalf of the apartment complex where I live. The monetary reward offered was my motivating factor. Nevermind the fact that my apartments decided to drop the payout from $350 to $150 per new renter that I’ve “convinced” to rent here..shortly after I signed up is not the app creator’s fault. There are a few problems. The first, is I have no idea whether or not my little chat with John convinced him to rent here or not, so the apartments have no incentive to be truthful or not on whether I made the commission. The second, is since it is to my fiscal advantage to convince people to rent here, it would be in my best interest to lie about whether this is a nice place to live or not. Do I even know whether or not the apartments can read our chats? So, Linda, if you are reading this, No, this neighborhood is NOT quiet and safe and I was ***ually assaulted right around the corner so you probably shouldn’t move here.

Too many notifications
I get like 3 emails and push notifications the same day someone asked me a question on rentgrata, before 5PM. It’s too much.

I came across rentgrata during my apartment search. I’m always worried about how safe the location is, how reliable the management staff is and how are the people living at a complex or building ... Rentgrata is a great way to get answers for all these questions and many more ! Plus, if you end up leasing a place after chatting with someone through them then, you and the person both get cash bonus ! Some extra cash at move in is great ! Plus the rentgrata customer service is awesome ! Quick to respond with detailed answers ! Ah, I just love it ! Please try it, you won’t be disappointed !

Great idea poor execution
This app is really a good idea, however I have not received a response from multiple residents at multiple locations. Also, some of the feedback (when finally received) seemed a little odd and EXTREMELY positive. This almost makes me wonder if current residents are just trying to get a little cash versus the actual reviews on google, yelp, and other platforms that you can find.

Awesome App!
Rentgrata is a really neat concept where prospective renters can talk to actual residents and ask questions that a leasing office might otherwise not be able to answer such as noise level, neighborhood safety, etc. Apartment complexes can also reward both parties for their use of the app!
Rentgrata makes moving more comfortable
I’m moving to Chicago soon and I’m pretty unfamiliar with the city! My apartment search was overwhelming until I found Rentgrata. This app has made a big city feel a lot smaller when it comes to finding a home. Rentgrata has provided me with the opportunity to talk to real people on what it’s really like to live in the neighborhoods and buildings on the app. Hearing real experiences makes me feel a lot more comfortable committing to signing a lease and moving into a new home and community!

Better than advertised
I came across Rentgrata as I was apartment searching for a pending move to Nashville. I was able to talk to current residents at each of the apartments I visited. They provided insights the property managers couldn’t because they either didn’t actually live there (i.e. whether you could hear your neighbors because the walls were thin) or couldn’t legally discuss (i.e. resident demographic (young, old, families, etc.)).
Based on the conversations I had with current residents I ended up moving into a great complex located in the heart of downtown Nashville and filled with young professionals like myself.
On top of that I’ve been able to take advantage of my apartments referral bonus by simply responding to a few texts from people apartment searching just like I did.
I would highly recommend this app for anyone looking for a new apartment and anyone looking to make easy money by just being a good neighbor.

Actually made money through Rentgrata!
When I got an email from my apartment complex telling me I could make money by referring people through Rentgrata, I signed up and then forgot about it, thinking it was too good to be true. Then someone messaged me with questions about my building and i responded honestly. Next thing you know, they signed a lease and I made $250! It was that easy!

His personality is infectious and his desire to provide residents the perfect opportunity to have their questions answered honestly by others living in the community is apparent. Wonderful app
I just moved in Chicago and this app was actually great for asking residents questions. It was nice talking to someone other than a leasing agent that is just trying to get me to sign a lease. Def check it out if you are moving in/to Chicago.
App crashing
Having an issue with Facebook login on my iPhone 7+ .. I authorized Facebook login but then the app crashes every time it tries to log me in. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but still crashing.
