It’s ok.

The app is only ok, you have to keep track to make sure it’s not going to just start cutting off exercises and to also make sure that it’s actually progressing you. For my Bayesian curls it hasn’t upped the weight in months, no progress made on that by following the apps instructions so I’m having to do it myself and basically keep it as a tracker, which it’s rather expensive for. It will also weirdly start increasing progression for random muscle groups even on maintenance, once again you have to watch it and edit your workouts yourself quite a lot. Definitely overhyped, definitely expensive, ok level tracker and at least it doesn’t pop up a billion ads.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Movement types, body parts, body part emphasis, performances, and feedback all may play a role in how the app regulates changes from week to week like sets, reps, and weight. I can still pass along the feedback to our team though and please don't hesitate to share any additional feedback to our team at app.support@rpstrength.com!

Thank You

I love it when people share their passion for and knowledge of a subject in an effort to positively impact others. And that, it seems to me, is what RP does. I am 58 years old, very career focused, a happy husband and father. There was just one problem: I let myself get ridiculously out of shape. This hit me hard three years ago when I had gotten so fat that I had to rent a suit to go to an event because I couldn’t fit into my normal suits. At the time I weighed 275 lbs and was probably 35-40% body fat. I am now 198 lbs. around 20% body fat and on my way to 15%. My strength is up significantly, my lower back pain is gone. RP has been very helpful in my journey. There is so much BS advice online but none of it comes from RP. They make getting in shape simple, not easy. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Wow, thank you for sharing your journey!! Going from 275 to 198 with your strength up and back pain gone is amazing. We're honored the app has been part of it. Incredible work, and keep it up! 👏🏻

Great app

Love this app

Thanks for the love and 5-star review!! 🙏🏻

Nice App

This is a good app for tracking history on an exercise and to see if your reps and your weight is going up that’s nice, but it really doesn’t do anything that you can’t do on your own. It’s really not doing anything that would inspire you or provide you with some kind of insight that you couldn’t figure out on your own. But it works for logging.

Got me on the path

51, never lifted before, this app is great to help you assimilate lifting into your workout routine. Definitely recommend it to anyone. Would say it could pitch some stuff at the absolute borderline idiot like me on a few things but a great mix and the vids and planning are really easy.

Response from developer

Congrats on starting your lifting journey at 51, that's awesome! And we're glad the app has helped you build a routine. 💪🏻 For any feedback or guidance needed, please shoot them over to app.support@rpstrength.com 🙏🏻

Price is whack and app is just ok

The app is behind others. You do get videos of mikes people doing very correct form which is it’s only benefit. Other than that it doesn’t help Hypertrophy no matter much you tell it “not enough” volume. It doesn’t even remember your stats from one meso plan to the next. So you start over every six weeks. Some available workout “plan” choices are just completely blank. Doesn’t sink with Health smh. I paid like $240 with a holiday special price for the year… overpaid by at least 10x. I did learn a couple of forms that are now better for me but definitely not renewing.

Leaves a lot to be desired

At its base function it does help take some guess work out of your week to week training. However, it’s lacking a few features that would make it significantly better. Implementing a rest timer with the workouts that I can set for my desired rest times. Also, tracking should, well, track. There is no progress page to show your week to week volume. Last complaint I have is that the existing templates seem to be incomplete and not very many options, you can create your own template but it could improve with more available templates to choose from.

Helpful

Really good app. It has a lot of helpful information to go along with it.

I wish there was a way to catalogue more info. How your weight is going, maybe uploading photos and getting to to do custom plans based on what it thinks you lack, etc.

Overall good product and hope more features come through

Thank you for the review! Glad you're finding it helpful. More progress tracking and photo logging are great suggestions and I can certainly pass them along to our team. More features are always in the works!

Thanks Dr Mike

I love this app! No longer do I need a notebook and guessing what I should do for progressive overload.

Great Accountability, Tracking, but Needs More

Short Review. Great app for accountability, easy tracking, priority of muscle groups and keep up with total volume. The app needs to be integrated more closely with the Diet RP app. The Hypertrophy app needs to know when there is a cutting diet in place. Because when my lifts are going down due to lack of carbs that the RP Diet app is recommending, I don’t have as much energy production to get my usual reps, especially during the last phases of a cut. Would be nice if the Hypertrophy app had more questionnaires about how the diet is impacting the lifts. Thanks!

Won’t open

You literally need a starlink connection with 25 satellites hooked up to run this overpriced app. Gym wifi went out and app won’t even load on cell data. Completely ridiculous for an app this simple to so no functioning

WatchOS??

awesome app but would love the ability to push workouts to an apple watch

Great overall app

Used for a few weeks, so far so good! Easily tracks your weight and helps keep you focused. Pushes you and knows when to pull you back. Wish it came with a stretching routine based on your exercises!

Worth It

Big fan! Can’t see myself switching to a competitor anytime soon.

Phenomenal Training App

I’ve been using the hypertrophy app for over 2 years and absolutely love it. It takes the guesswork out of my progressions and I can customize my training to my goals and preferences. 100% recommend!

The Best .

Simple, smart, effective — the best workout app I’ve ever used.

Not helpful

I am super experienced but this doesn’t do anything. Basically I’m writing the workouts for myself. And if I say I’m not able to use machines, it still gives me workouts with machines. SMH.

Absolutely the best workout app I’ve used! Changed my life!

Fantastic workout app that I swear by. Don’t compare it to other apps - compare it to hiring a personal trainer. This will change your workouts, health, muscle growth and training overall.

Nice App

It would be nice to have a way to more exercises up or down using your finger instead of having to move it one level at a time using the ‘Move Exercise’ option in the app.
Also, can someone add a V-Squat exercise machine to the database?
One other problem: we can no longer use the ‘help’ button. Keeps giving me an error.

Got results

I’ve been using the app for about 8 months and I’ve gotten very good results. The programming is excellent, and if you just show up and log your workouts, Mike may still be ugly, but at least he’ll be happy you’re jacked.
