Nice but so sick of the glitching
This is a pretty decent app. However, it always crashes when first opened. Every time i open this app, the loading screen freezes and then crahes. I then have to manually close the app and reopen for it to stay open and work. Its gotten to the point where I will open the app, close it, and then reopen it just so I can speed past the crash.
The second glitch appears when scrolling. If you scroll down looking for an item and you come to the point where the list will buffer to load the next set of items, it will list those items, but it will also drop you further down that list, making you scroll back up to see what items you missed. So its a constant scroll down up down journey.
Everything else seems ok, feels a little stuttery sometimes, but a good app. Glad they finally introduced apple pay!

Great design
The Safeway app is so easy to navigate. I love being able to track my points & being able to use them at the pump. It’s super easy to scan barcodes in store for sales or being shown items I frequently buy going on sale. Safeway also offers really good deals like spend $30 on a pick up order & get $10 off. I always look forward to when those type of deals pop up.

App Bottlenecks
The app becomes cumbersome when you go in to delete items from your cart, and you have to delete each line item individually. The app is designed so that you must add items to your cart if you want the JustForU discount to apply at checkout; post checkout, those items stay there. It took me 1.5 hours to delete my cart. And often have to go delete as I go if it becomes full again. In addition, I suggest you make each page of the weekly add for to the screen on an iPhone or other device. Also, if you’re a member, such as myself, finding all of the weekly points deals can be difficult. A more direct path would seem less elusive and seem less like an intentional deterrent to have it buried. Also, when one clicks on deals, the items shown do not display all deals, only a select few that are not consistent with the current deals. Lastly, having has points visible on the Home Screen, being in tech myself, would provide a motivation and achievable goal for customers to attain, and therefore driving traffic and sales. A brief suggestion for in store; a recent remodel was done for instacart and online app shopping, and the cold walls and shelves full of instacart bins for sale feels a bit intrusive, adds a feeling as if in-store shoppers are less valued, and it detracts from the “neighborhood grocery-store” feel, driving a sense of tech being invasive everywhere we turn.
