Don’t waste your money
The worst of the ‘instagram’ fitness apps I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot of them. Terrible functionally, amateur app, slow to the point where it stops working for 10-15 mins a pop which is great when you’re at the gym actively trying to workout and use the app.
Constantly glitching, the programs are very rigid, you can’t track how many reps or sets you’re actually doing, you add your weights to track and the next week it’s gone, workouts never complete no how many times you complete it.
Genuinely the most frustrating app I’ve ever used. Contacted support, completely useless and stopped responding to me after a while. Thankfully only paid for a month and didn’t subscribe longer to this farce.

Okay but could be better
Lots of little bugs. When you open up quite often tells you to update when it doesn’t need doing. And journal doesn’t always save
Great concept, needs work
Love Holly and was so excited to try this app, the plans seem great, however the app is super glitchy and some of the videos don’t load!
Teething problems
I really wanted to love this app but I’m just not a huge fan of the structure.
Can’t get onto the app
I can’t get onto the app all the time says it needs updating… when it doesn’t
Good workouts still some issues
Good workout routines and programmes but issues sometimes logging on and sometimes it doesn’t save the weights from previous weeks

Pain
Keeps kicking me out to the review page so have a rubbish review x
Great Idea, Frustrating Execution
I’ve been a subscriber of Holly’s for many years and really wanted to love the SGS app. I went in with high expectations, but unfortunately the experience fell short quite quickly.
Within the first week of using the app, I raised several concerns - including ongoing glitches between home and gym plans, issues with tracking (such as heart rate not syncing despite permissions being enabled), and problems with workouts not completing properly. I also struggled with basic functionality like runs not tracking accurately and not being able to clearly log or track reps and sets in a way that supported my training.
I was told these issues had been fixed, but sadly they hadn’t. The same problems continued, which made the app frustrating to use and, at times, actively disruptive to my workouts. For something designed to support and motivate training, it ended up doing the opposite.
In the end, I felt I had no choice but to unsubscribe. It was disappointing to feel like I’d wasted the £9.99 January subscription, especially as a long-term supporter who genuinely wanted this app to work. I still value Holly’s content, but the app itself doesn’t currently feel reliable or polished enough to justify the cost.

Wanted to love
Lots of potential in this app, love the variety of programmes but every time I’ve gone to access the app when I’m in the gym it keeps asking for an update that doesn’t exist. If I look at the app at home it works fine. It’s also very slow to load the programme and the workouts. Needs improvement before it’s actually useable.

Love the workouts, Apple Watch app and unit of measurement options need work
Love the community behind this app, the workouts, and the run training! However, as someone from the US, please integrate an option for imperial units! Would make a world of difference if those of us here could input in pounds/miles.
Too glitchy!
I want to like this app but it’s hard to use, it’s laggy, a lot of glitches throughout, doesn’t connect to Strava (even though it says it is), it crashes. I’m still trying to use it but I will probably screenshot the workouts and cancel.
Lots of potential but some teething problems with functionality
I really love the style and content on the app and it’s great to have so many plans to follow at a reasonable price. The latest update has resolved many of the glitching problems and can definitely see an improvement. I do wish the reps/sets options could be changed so I can properly track what I done the previous week as I might only get 8 reps but it says 8-12 so can be hard to remember each week. Options to track weight or progress pictures would also be great.

Good
Unreal!!!
The best app. I have always loved Holly. To have everything in one place to support my running is amazing!
SGS Fits Perfectly Into My Training
SGS is still a new app, so there’s definitely room for improvement, and I know it will happen!
I’m currently using two apps for my training, and SGS is a great addition, especially since the other one doesn’t have a running option yet.
I’m loving the Pilates workouts.
The diary feature is also a really nice addition. 🩷
