iPad

The biggest issue that I have is that when using my iPad and the Note Taker feature, the recording fails to upload. Waste of money when paying for a feature that does not work. Spoke to tech support over 2 weeks and was informed they are aware of the issue. However, no update or a refund for the feature not working properly. Searching for a new provider.

Privacy Toggle

New “Privacy” feature does not allow privacy toggle to be switched “on.” When “off,” it allows Simple Practice to collect private client/patient data

Lack of privacy

There is a toggle that says it is retaining de identified client data Even though I do not use their AI and there is no way to turn it off. I chatted with the AI bot who said don’t worry about it since I don’t use the AI note taker but I want to be able to turn it off! Simple practice get it together before I leave the platform.

clunky for anything not a therapy session, very frustrating customer support, bad accessibility

Simple practice is fine if the only thing you do is have 50 minute sessions with people who have no cognitive or physical challenges and don’t do any testing. When I asked about accessibility features in my intro “help” session I was told to publish a comment in their suggestion forum and no effort was made whatsoever for improvement. All billing is tied to the calendar which does not work for assessment even when billing in units, and there is not a good way to track deposits on large assessment charges. They push you VERY HARD to their AI chat bot and email for any support, which is very time consuming, (you must wait for replies to every question and 95% of the time my question is lost in translation) and will do everything they possibly can to not talk to you. Also questionnaires, notes, and other templates are extremely limited. However, I’ve been able to find a good platform for assessment/neuropsychology to move to.

Exposed billing costs

I have used this app for over a year and the choice s of provider levels are bare minimum. I do not like that every level gives the provider the cost of service fees!!! I want only admin to have this information and billing. I am leaving and going to a EHR that doesn’t share this information with providers

Calendar Mafunction

When looking at my clinician calendar, the name of the month has disappeared. Even when I flip though consecutive months, I have no idea what month it is and must use the TODAY tab to get me back to the current month. Please fix. I will delete the app and try reloading to see if it resolves.

Cares more about money than client care

I've used Simple Practice as a clinician for over five years and have never had a problem.Compared to other EHR platforms, it's always been my favorite because it is easy to use and does everything that you need it to. HOWEVER: they suddenly decided to drop support for the telehealth feature on any device older than an iPhone 11. This means that with less than a month's notice, my completely telehealth practice is no longer accessible to over 50% of my current caseload. My clients living in rural areas (who HAVE to use telehealth) cannot afford to upgrade their phone that is working just fine for the sole purpose of being able to join a telehealth session- they also can't afford to go out and buy a computer or tablet to be able to join sessions. when I raised this concern to Simple Practice, I was met with a response that basically consisted of it not being their problem clients won't be able to access care because they are focusing on streamlining support for the telehealth feature to be more focused on only certain versions of devices. Essentially, Simple Practice has put the value of making a dollar over continuity of client care. To be so okay with a huge portion of the client population suddenly losing access to therapy-especially coming from a therapy platform-is absolutely mind-boggling and incredibly disappointing. I don't know of any other EHR system that has made a similar choice in the devaluation of people's wellbeing. If they have been able to support telehealth on all models of technology up until now, it makes zero sense why they cannot continue to do so to allow people can continue to access the care that they need. after being a loyal customer for so many years, I will be going elsewhere and am incredibly sad to have been forced into making that decision.

Glitch

Ever since the new app update, I cannot read or communicate with my top chat messages from my clients as it is being blocked by a banner.

Not Simple

This app is very limited in functions you need when you’re running a private practice. Frustrating!

It was good

Things were great until the most recent update- now I can’t see my virtual appointment slots booked from my phone app.

Exploits Clinicians, unreliable

This app is evil, it takes advantage of clinicians and provides 0 support. It seems convenient at first but you end up spending more work than if you just did everything manually from the start.

Glitchy update

This new update won’t let me sign off on my notes. Used to be a flawless system, not a fan of the new glitches.

Constant notifications

Notifications always get stuck and never clear out even when you open the app and clear everything out. It always shows a notification energy the app is closed. Very annoying.

App consistently has issues

Again the app could be so valuable and is. I use it most often. However, there are many bugs that need to continue to be worked out. The newest bug is writing messages. It appears to add words images without even being tapped on. Doesn’t matter if you use voice to text if you’re typing it. Or if you’re clicking on the words, it’s only in this app and it’s happening on. Of our therapist and admin’s phones. Somethings wrong fix it please

Glitches and loss of appointments

First I want to say, while I am certainly grateful to simple practice and that they developed an app for us to use instead of needing to always sign into our computers a lot of times to manage our appointments and scheduling with clients, I find that the app often continues to be glitchy, slow to load, even loses my information when I am trying to set appointments with clients. Over the past 6-8 months, maybe since the big app overhaul a couple of years ago, either an appointment was not saved, was saved for a wrong time or I’ve missed an appointment because the information I put in was not save properly. Now I know this can sound like a me problem and I will own my part in having fat thumbs but a lot of it is that the wheel of death shows up and takes forever to load. Most days, if I need to manually change a clients appointment or put information in, I often don’t trust the app or have to set aside 15 mins for it adjust so I can make changes. I am much more inclined to use my desk top than the app any day. It has been bothersome enough to consider changing our practice system to another product, sadly…and I’ve been with SP since their beta testing. So hopefully something can be done to improve its user interface speed.

Video Calls Disastrous

Don’t want to be able to finish what you’re saving with a client? This is the platform for you! Good luck!

Terrible

It’s not just the app, Simple Practice, as a whole, is terrible. It’s flashy but way too expensive for what it offers. If you are a provider, just get used to your claims, sitting untouched for weeks-on-end before you will ever get paid. And forget about customer service or technical support, all you will get is a form email and links to 10 YouTube videos that may or may not slightly address your problem. You cannot submit claims in the app, and, let’s face it, getting paid is why we need a system like this. However, paying its providers is Simple Practice’s LAST priority.

App

I have used the app multiple times for writing my notes and reading notes and everything else. I don’t like how it moves back to the beginning of the note if I’m typing on it as one person said. Also, I keep getting a reminder to use the simple practice for clinicians and I thought maybe I could change client settings on it since it has been updated and it was saying it was a better experience. But I can’t, for example change how a client receives reminders.

Scrolls up when writing note

Every time i try to write a note from my phone or iPad, it scrolls back up to the top and i can’t see what I’m writing. Please fix this

Still can’t do a chart note or turn on an away message

Look, the app has gotten a lot better, but it’s still lacks basic functionality for what I need to do on my phone.

Literally the most likely thing I’m going to need to do on my phone away from the office is to write a chart note.

A client may reach out and need to chat with me or I finally connect with that colleague that I need to consult with and I just need to write a damn chart note to document what’s happening when I am away from the office. But no.

Further, the fact that I can’t turn on an automated away message in the secure messaging is also infuriating.

I still don’t understand why these two basic functionalities are missing as oodles of are being added, as though people are trying to run their entire practice from their phone.
