Great gym, disappointing app

I love my local Snap gym but this app does the brand no favours. I just wanted to book and check classes and I couldn’t even get that far. You have to answer a bunch of questions before being able to use the app and it failed at the first multiple choice. It asks ‘What are your goals?’ and if your answer isn’t one of the presented six options you can’t proceed without choosing one anyway. Then if you do that it wants a bunch of private data - height, weight, DOB… I just want to check and book class times. Make the questions optional, not mandatory just to use the app. Let me volunteer data as I opt in to using app features that use it. Add value to my gym experience before taking my data.

Dev Please!

We really need a next/previous field arrow or button. Nothing more irritating for a field to enter weight or reps being obfuscated by the keyboard then trying to figure out how to close the kb just to scroll up a bit and tap on the text field again.

Just two addl buttons and the page auto scrolls to be visible

It’s not too much of an ask is it?

Improvement needed

Been using the app for a couple of months now, and after adding exercises during a custom workout, those exercises are not saved to the custom workout. You must go in and add them at a later time. Additionally, when you delete an exercise from a custom workout, there is a bug that won’t permanently remove it. One should be able or have the choice to tweak a custom tailored workout.

Still buggy

#Workouts Resetting Data#
Still need to lock portrait mode to prevent app from resetting all entered data mid-workout when screen locks or switching apps. Not always given an option to resume workout to restore a “save point”.

#Custom workout Sorting#
When more than 7 exercises exist, the list cannot be scrolled down to 8+ to grab and resort. Especially irritating when new exercises get added to the bottom of the list. I like to keep 10-12 assorted exercises on the list so they’re readily accessible if I choose to do that exercise. Example: keep three incline variations between barbell, dumbbell presses and then dumbbell incline flies or incline cable flies depending on equipment availability instead of adding new for each gym session.

Access card

When is it expected to have access card on the app? That's the only reason I keep it on my phone

User Friendly

User friendly, easy to use

Update breaks accounts

They keep breaking the app. 1 week ago the app does not think I’m a member. Access card works, account up to date. Turns out they updated the app a week ago. Go figure. Dev team needs help over there.

Great place - nice equipment- great staff ..

Location

There is lots of opportunity for improvement! Here is a list of priorities:

1) Remove the requirement for the app to have Allow Location Access to be set to Always. This is a privacy issue. There is no need for Snap to know my location at all times.

2) Add filters to the Bookings screen. I have to scroll past dozens of half hour sauna and pilates bookings to find a class booking.

3) Show how many are booked to a class once booked

4) Uplift the UI to something more modern.

Can’t even log in as it doesn’t except four digit log in code

Cannot find the button to edit or delete a custom workout.

Trying to Join but can’t get past sign up?

I’m interested in visiting and joining snap fitness however the online information is pretty elusive and I couldn’t find much there about how to even start the free trial it advertises. I was hoping to find more information in the app but can’t even get past creating an account because I can’t enter a home base location therefore I can’t proceed with my account. After reading other reviews on this app this appears to be a commonly experienced bug that’s been going on for at least 2 YEARS? I’m confused as to why it hasn’t been fixed by now and definitely off put about the whole gym itself. Was excited to try it out but now a little hesitant since the gym doesn’t seem to be new member friendly.

Shuts down

The app constantly shutting down when trying to log workouts. It’s tedious and seems like something that should be fixed. Would not recommend the app for logging workouts until it’s fixed!

Double counting

The app has recently started double counting my trips to the gym. Very irritating as I liked checking how frequently (legitimately) went to the gym. Now I cannot trust the app any more. Very frustrating.

useless on an iphone

could be good but app stops workout and closes without saving when phone locks. such a simple thing but sooooo frustrating. shame on snapfitness for not investing in a half decent app.

A bit of a mixed bag

This app can work really well and fits well into the eco system if you use snap fitness gyms. Only problem is that it’s pretty crash prone. Currently my app is non functional because it will randomly crash during workouts and not save any workout data. I reported this issue to the company via the app, it’s been 24hrs and it’s still doing the same thing. Also the “available on Apple Watch” thing isn’t exactly true. It does connect to Apple Watch in that the phone app tracks when your rings close. However, if you open the app on the watch itself it just says that there’s a heart rate monitor in development. I’m moderately impressed by the features that the app offers, just wish that they’d work more consistently.

Terrible needs to be improved

This app is incredibly out dated and it shows the other “snap fitness app” when you search on the App Store even has a higher rating and it’s not the real app. When searching for exercises they don’t pop up, timed exercises ask you to log reps or a weight when they are completely irrelevant the app doesn’t produce any body report of what muscles where activated despite them being listed in the exercise it would be a simple map that would improve the app so much additionally an accountability calendar would be nice to see just a little widget that could take the place of the “my current program slot” for people who don’t use them. I’ve contacted support on some of these issues weeks ago and still haven’t heard back for being the official app and lacking basic features that are available on other free apps despite needing to pay for a membership to have this additionally you can’t even sign into the gym with the app would love to see a feature where you can add your gym card to apple wallet I would love for the support team to get back to me as these features really do make this app quiet underwhelming and forces people to go log there workouts elsewhere I would recommend the support team go look at apps like hevy to see how a fitness app should be done as there user interface is intuitive it works and is free and gives you all those insights and statistics

Buggy

The first couple times I tried using to track custom workouts, the screen refreshed and the workout log would close and take me back to the home screen. No saves, no resume progress, just plain quit right in the middle. FIGURED IT OUT *amd this is for developers*

This bug is from to screen rotation, that is when phone shifts between landscape and portrait mode, quite often this app does a 100% refresh. By disabling screen rotation, I am guaranteed not to lose any log progress
