App use to work seamlessly, idk what happened but no bueno

Says there are no stays ANYWHERE. In ANY city. Have had the app since 2023, was fine before
Garbage app
Would give it negative stars if possible. This app went from great to absolute garbage. Nothing loads up, old trips don’t save it is a hassle to have and I am deleting it. Save yourself the time and book online or something but DO NOT USE THIS APP

So much is well done: clean, wood veneer rather than carpeted floors, modern feel, great location in cool buildings, and then there are the actual operational deficiencies. Ours had 2 identical looking street entries and bc we were visiting, we were not familiar, and soon learned that crossing the threshold into the door for longer term stays meant a stern call out meant to make all look at us in dismay- like we thought we’d waltz into Studio 54 ahead of Andy Warhol. Clean towels were a coin toss on any given day even though a fat stack sat on the groundskeeper or whatevs counter. Thought my bag was stolen and learned I could pay idk like $25 or maybe it was more for “losing” the digital key thingy. Just deprogram it like hotels somehow have figured out for a good decade plus. Luckily, found the bag. Some desk people were nice; all were a little Severance Outties like they know they’re on camera at all times. Don’t want to have to go through JPL Labs security to reserve a room for 5 days- data grab is creepy. Weird, might stay if good price and nothing decent around, but can’t recommend.

Difficult to navigate
The Marriot merger cause the app a lot of problems. I am a Sonder patron and loved booking their hotels yet with this new merger I am unable to book with just Sonder. Please fix these issues.
Bankrupt - zero stars!
Sonder filed for bankruptcy on Nov 10, 2025 and all current and future reservations were cancelled. Beware!
Poor communication/problem solving
Marriott sending an email telling that Sonder’s licensing agreement has lapsed and that occupants have to leave, with less than 15 hours’ notice is ridiculous especially if Sonder has placed a helpless receptionist as the only human point of contact who could only apologise.

Ridiculous
The code we were given would not work to let us in the building. We tried using the sonder app mobile key and that didn’t work either. We spent ~30 min outside in freezing weather calling tech support until another guest let us in. 0/10 useless app. There was nothing wrong with key cards.

Mariott merger has broken lots of stuff
I would have said once upon a time this was an incredible app. It’s still OK about the integration with Marriott has really broken lots of things. I never know when links aren’t going to work, there are literally just completely broken links between the two hotel chains which aren’t html

Clear directions abroad!
Used Sonder for a stay in Rome; the app was easy to use and navigate

Terrible start
I book reservations with Marriott all the time and I never had a problem until I saw Sonder on the Marriott site and I booked it .. they sent me an email to provide my credit card even though I have it on file with Marriott.. I provided the information .. I get here and find out it’s cancelled.. so I had to rebook through the app with the girl at the front desk with an attitude like she didn’t want to be here … after fighting with the unstable Sonder app.. she finally decided to take my license and credit card to help me.. and I ended up paying and extra $40/nite.. front desk is horrible .. next time I will choose a different hotel!!!

Worst Check-in Experience Ever
I wasted over an hour outside with zero support on how to get in. Spent money on long distance calls with both Sonder and Marriot. Their system is broken. Not even a try on their end to make things right, completely unacceptable. Avoid if you value your time and an stress-free trip.
On top of that, the app barely works, and the environment felt unsafe, more like an overpriced hostel than a hotel.

Frak you, Sonder and Frak you, Marriott
Marriott kills everything it touches.
Terrible after Marriott took over
First, I tried booking with my Sonder account but it failed with no clear error message. Later, I figured out I needed a Marriott account. I couldn’t sign up with my original email — probably because it was linked to the old Marriott loyalty program (Starwood or something) — but again, no clear explanation. I had to use another email, create a Marriott account, and finally book with Sonder. The worst part? I had to verify my ID all over again, and I lost all my past booking records. Sonder used to be my favourite hotel experience, but sadly, not anymore now that it’s part of Marriott.
