Not that good

I like Southwest Airlines that’s why I stand up for this card. I have some side gig jobs. Sometimes when I finish my job, I get paid instantly so you know I’m trying to use like a instant transfer to get my money to this bank account. It’s taking forever for them to receive the money.

Phillip Levine - applicant

This has taken quite sometime, repeating the same steps over and over. Quite a few error messages. I’ve almost given up on occasion. Very inconvenient.

Horrible product

They only support 4 banks, good luck if you have BOA or chase. If the transfer actually happens (which is hit or miss, some days it works. Most it doesnt), it takes 8 business days to reflect on the account. You can only fund via debit card once. And verifying via small deposits never works. And when you try to close the account, they charge you $20 to your own money. There a bunch of hidden fees. Go elsewhere earning points.

Do Not Use This Card. I may even stop flying Southwest because if it.

UPDATE: Beware, initial authorizations do not drop off this card once the transaction posts. 4 times now with 2 different companies I had to wait 7 business days for holds to drop off my pending transactions even though the transaction had already been showing under “Settled and posted” once posted, the pending amount is supposed to go away immediately. These people are holding hundreds of dollars of my money unnecessarily for 7 business days until it automatically drops due to the hold expiring.

UPDATE:
Filed a complaint with customer service 1 week ago. My card still has a negative balance and the app and website are showing completely different balances from the IVR system. Not a single word from technical support.

started using this card a few weeks ago and it has been a disaster. Nothing but problems that customer service can’t resolve. Right now the app and the website are showing a completely different balance than what customer service and the phone IVR are showing. It’s off by over 300 dollars. I have 3 pending charges that shouldn’t be there because the transactions have settled. It is a mess! Customer service is outsourced and show a lot of fake empathy, but as usual they don’t get it. There’s certainly a comprehension issue. I spent 2 hours today calling Southwest Debit, Kroger Corporste and Fred Meyer. Each one blamed the other. Bottom line: I am missing 300 dollars and nobody seems to really care or want to help. The way to a resolution is the customer service department at SW Debit. It is a nightmare full of people who lack basic English comprehension skills, which only makes the situation worse.

Needs some updates

This is a good way to earn some additional SW RR points but there are some inherent limitations to this card. It often rejects instant transfers from PayPal or Venmo. You cannot instantly make a deposit with cash or a funds transfer. You need to plan very strategically if you plan to use it regularly.
