Let’s get started

So easy to use, versatile by itself just wish the programs used on the app could speak to the machine and all my sessions would count! Even those I do away from home.

Great App and Gym

As someone who wants efficient, effective workouts without spending time planning them, the Speediance app has been a great tool. I enjoy the guided programs, exercise demonstrations, and progress tracking. The app keeps me motivated and helps me stay accountable to my strength training goals. It’s straightforward to use and integrates well with the equipment. Overall, it has made home fitness much more convenient and enjoyable.

Gym Monster

I love being able to workout whenever and technically wherever I want since this is mobile. I can move the Gym Monster around my house, plug it in and go. No subscription needed if I don’t want it and have a massive library of workouts to choose from and trainers. Pair it with the app which syncs my data with Apple Health and I can see everything. I can also add workouts onto my calendar or do free lift, the abilities are endless. I added the scale and bike for a complete workout and so far the hard work is showing results for both my Wife and I.

Hardware is 5-stars, App Analytics need work

I absolutely love the Speediance machine itself—the hardware and overall lifting functionality are fantastic. However, the app needs serious work when it comes to health metrics. Instead of pulling daily averages like Apple Health does, it pulls raw data points at random times. For example, grabbing a single low HRV (Heart Rate Variability) reading from a moment of random stress completely throws off my baseline and recovery score. The app needs to utilize true data averages to provide accurate insights, rather than relying on skewed, isolated snapshots.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! We‘re thrilled to hear you’re enjoying the Speediance hardware. Regarding the app’s health metrics, we want to clarify that the data isn’t selected randomly. Instead, it’s collected using scientifically validated methods based on the latest research, designed to give you the most accurate insights possible. If you ever have questions about your data or recovery scores, you can reach out directly through the app by going to More → Service & Support, where our support team will be happy to assist you.

Zusammen mit dem Gymmonster ein echter Gamechanger.

Convenient and Easy

Speediance has completely elevated my home workout experience. The app is intuitive, the guided programs are well-structured, and the real-time resistance feedback makes every session feel purposeful. I love how it tracks progress over time — it keeps me motivated and accountable. If you’re serious about training smarter at home, this is worth every bit of it. Highly recommend!

Great companion

This is a great companion to both my Gym Monster and Velonix. It provides quick ways to program custom workouts and makes it easy to share them with others. And I like how it collects my health data into a useful dashboard. Well designed and always improving!

Gym Monster is AMAZING

I have the Gym Monster 2 and it’s one of my favorite purchases I’ve ever made. It works great, the workouts are awesome and I think it’s the perfect at home trainer. The app is basically unusable. They need to scrap it and start over. I paid for the + subscription for me and my wife and it’s useless. I will be canceling that unless they make some big improvements soon. With AI and coding advancement, there is no excuse to have such a bad app.

Appalling bad

Yep truly bad app, should have made is simpler, and do a small set of functions well, useless in combination with Speediance gym monster 2

Great Machine but Bad App

We absolutely love the Speediance Gym Monster 2. It’s completely changed our workout experience. We cancelled our gym membership and haven’t looked back. The app itself needs help. It’s terrible that there is no Apple Watch complication. We were constantly missing tracking the workouts in Apple Health, but a recent update made connection to the Apple Watch more stable.

Schade…

Awesome machine. Terrible interface

The machine is awesome. All software and user experience is awful. almost $2500, The user shouldn’t have to show you screenshots and show you this show you that we don’t have time for all that that should’ve been taken care of before the machine even came out. The users want to work out not diagnose your tech problems. I’ve sent you diagnostics before I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t have time for that. The experience and interface should work somewhat smoothly. It does not especially for AI. Do you want to charge us for the AI experience but it doesn’t work right half the time and I’m done trying to diagnose it for you. You guys should already take care of this.

The Machine Deserves Better.

The Speediance Gym Monster is, without argument, one of the most impressive pieces of home fitness equipment available. The hardware is exceptional: smooth digital resistance, compact footprint, a genuinely thoughtful form factor. People who own it are overwhelmingly loyal to it. This review is not a criticism of that machine.

This is about the app! and the app is letting the machine down. Across the App Store, Reddit, Facebook groups, Trustpilot, and community boards, the same complaints surface again and again from users who deeply want to love the full experience. This review consolidates them into one clear, constructive message for the team at Speediance: here is exactly what needs to change.

The dashboard is cluttered and hard to navigate.

The app’s Home Screen feels jumbled, with poor content hierarchy and no clear grouping of modules. People can't find the same feature twice. Information is dense without being useful. The layout needs a fundamental rethink around cognitive load: what does someone actually need before, during, and after a workout? Build from that.

Apple Watch heart rate tracking disconnects repeatedly mid-workout.

Me and other Apple Watch users have reported that the heart rate connection drops consistently during workouts, requiring them to manually relaunch the Watch app to reconnect sometimes multiple times in a single session. Heart rate is not a bonus feature; it's a core health metric. The Watch integration needs a stable persistent background session, not a fragile link that breaks under normal use.

Workouts go missing. Body measurements don't update ratios. Apple Health sync is unreliable.

Workouts disappear from their history without explanation. The body measurement tool accepts manual inputs from a measuring tape, but the body composition ratios do not update to reflect them making the feature decorative rather than functional. Apple Health sync inconsistently drops workouts, creating gaps in long-term tracking. For a product positioning itself as an "AI wellness partner," data integrity is not optional… it is the entire foundation.

Spelling errors, bad grammar, and broken English throughout the UI.

This one is straightforward: the app ships with consistent copy errors: incorrect grammar, inconsistent terminology, and phrasing that does not reflect fluent English. For a $2,400+ premium product competing with Tonal, this level of polish is not acceptable. The copy should be reviewed by a native English speaker in its entirety. Text that is also too small or too light to read compounds the problem into an accessibility issue.

None of this is unfixable. These are solvable engineering and design problems, not fundamental limitations of the platform. The Speediance hardware is genuinely excellent, and the core concept of what this product is trying to do is right. The free workout library, the AI strength assessment, the no-subscription model these are real differentiators.

But the software is the daily interface to all of that value. Every dropped connection, every disappeared workout, every time someone has to force-quit the app just to log in that is an erosion of trust in a product that cost someone two and a half thousand dollars.

To the Speediance development team: your users are loyal. They are writing detailed feedback because they want you to succeed. A focused 90-day sprint on stability, authentication, data integrity, and UI polish without adding new features would transform the experience. The machine is already a 5-star product. Make the app match it.

Love the tool, hate the app

I love my Speediance 2S. I’m getting in great shape with it and working out regularly in a way I never could have otherwise. If you are considering it, get it. That said, I need the developers to know that the app is not user friendly. It’s too busy, I can’t find what I need twice, and it’s constantly telling me it lost network connection (even if my internet is strong). Also the body measurement scale is straight up wrong and when I update my own body measurements (that I take with a measuring tape) the app does not update the ratios which is annoying. Don’t get the scale, it does not give you useful information or improve your experience.

Response from developer

Hello! To help us accurately troubleshoot the issues with your scale, please send the following information and screenshots to yuxin.guo@speediance.com. This will allow our team to verify the details and find a solution more quickly. 1. Data Syncing Issue: Regarding the manual entries not updating in your history, please describe the specific behavior and provide screenshots of the missing data. 2. Connectivity Issue: Please let us know your network environment when the disconnection occurred and provide a screenshot of the error prompt. 3. Scale and Body Metrics: Regarding the inaccurate scale measurements and the issue where body composition ratios do not update after you manually change your data—we are currently working on a fix and will include it in an upcoming app update as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us resolve this for you!

Ich bin mit der App zufrieden.

Version 4.09.04 breaks Apple Watch connectivity

Version 4.09.04 breaks Apple Watch connectivity so now I can’t track my workouts on my watch. What a bad update.
