Great app for tracking group payments
Perfect for a group trying to keep track of who’s paying for what. It simplifies who owes who and how much, then at the end there’s just one person to actually pay!
Great for small groups
Works really well. Only downside is limit to daily transactions without paying.
Just use a Google sheet
Not sure why people use this app, but it’s popular enough that I’ve ended up using it a couple times. Honestly understanding the debts feels more complicated than if you just used a Google sheet, and you can only put a couple items in there before it caps you and says you need to wait until later or download the pro version.

Easy, Convenient, & does the work (math) for you!
The first time I ever utilized Splitwise was for a bachelorette party in the summer of 2022, and then I used it again a month later for a second bachelorette party I was a MOH for. It is so convenient, you can clearly see who paid what, you can label/name it, add different people, split it between different people. I appreciate all the options it provides, how straightforward it is, and how user friendly it is, even for those who are less tech savvy. And also that you can link your bank account to pay directly through the app, which is free and has no fees! I just used it again 4 years later for a different trip, and it is still just as easy! 10/10 recommend this app. I love it!

Refund/credit issue
Handling a hotel group credit is incredibly frustrating because the app blocks negative numbers and lacks a simple "Refund" check box on the main screen.
Relationship saver!
User friendly app that calculates every expense recorded and clearly works out who owes who. I’m sure this app has avoided many misunderstandings and saved relationships!
Overpriced for what it is
Ridiculous price for the functionality and far too easy to accidentally subscribe too. Avoid.
Simplifies paying bills with roommates
It’s been an easy way to keep up with bills and other expenses between roommates 👍🏻👍🏻
Why AMD?
It was a fine app in the past, now you have to pay for it, and when I did the only button it guided me to for “settling up” switched all the conversions to AMD? We’re in Japan, how and why would that make sense?
Then, there’s no way to simply revert or switch it back to yen without ruining the conversion. Slightly disappointed.

Loyal user - app could be better
I love splitwise. It helps me manage the transactions between friends and reminder very easily. I feel the app would be perfect if integrations like Zelle or Cash App would also be available. Currently it only supports Venmo. Which is great, but can be restricting for some users who don’t prefer to use a certain application. Being a payment platform agnostic should be the number one goal for Splitwise moving forward.

Not seamless and does not show clear balances. It also takes it upon itself to include others not originally included in the expense.

This app is great. It’s really easy to use and takes the awkwardness out of sharing expenses.
Confusing to pay the split
The use is easy but when you get to settle the split, the payment choices are confusing and designed in a manipulated way. I chose “set a funding source” then it took me to connect my bank. But my friend then need to apply a debit card to accept the payment. What I should do is to click a small-font line said “third-party options” and just use Venmo. But the App was designed to let you set up the funding source and profit from issuing debit cards.

Great expense share app!
This is a great way to stay organized while sharing expenses. It’s perfect for girls trips, a night on the town, or any family/friend vacation get-away. Highly recommended!!
