Makes showing up easy

I’ve been using Sporty Doctor for a couple of months and the big win for me is how it makes exercising easy. The workouts are short, need little to no equipment, and can be done pretty much anywhere, so there’s very little standing between me and getting exercise in.

I also love the Duolingo-style streaks and commitment features to add a little motivation. I like the emphasis on exercising often rather than going hard but inconsistently, which research seems to increasingly support. I also appreciate being able to save favorite workouts.

I do wish the audio was in better sync with the timer as the voice cues sometimes get cut off mid-sentence when the next exercise starts, and I’d love to be able to enter known injuries or physical restrictions so the app can flag or swap out exercises that aren’t a good fit.

Overall it’s a great app for building a regular workout habit. Thanks Sporty Doctor!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the review and for taking the time to share this. Feedback like yours is genuinely how the app gets better. A few things that should help with the pacing right away: • On the workout preview screen, tap an exercise to watch its video before you start, so you already know the movement when the workout begins. • During a workout, tap the gear icon at the top to open settings, where you can add extra time between exercises. • You can also pause and restart the video at any point if you need a moment to get set. Hopefully those make the sessions flow a lot more comfortably. Thanks again for the 4 stars, and please reach out any time if there's anything else we can do.

It works!

I am not an app or web-based training person at all. I’ve tried online tutorials in the past and have always struggled to get through them because there is so much wasted time with introductions and fluff.

I was dealing with a shoulder injury that was starting to develop into a frozen shoulder. My range of motion had become very limited—I couldn’t comfortably reach behind me to hand my kids something in the back seat, and swimming and surfing had become painful.

I was recommended a series of exercises on Sporty Doctor by Dr. Kristina. The exercises were clear, easy to follow, and, most importantly, something I could actually stay consistent with because there was not long periods of introduction to get to the therapy exercises. Over a few weeks my mobility improved, the pain went away, and I’m now fully recovered. I can reach behind me normally again and am back to swimming and surfing without pain.

Thank you Sporty Doctor for helping me get my shoulder fixed up!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for this. Reviews like yours are why we built the app. We deliberately stripped out the long intros so people can get to the work and actually stick with it, so it's great to hear that's what made the difference for you. Frozen shoulder can be a long road, and getting your range of motion back over a few weeks is a real result. Dr. Kristina will be thrilled to hear it. Enjoy being back in the water, and thanks again for sharing your story.

Fit at 50!

Very detailed and easy to understand. Looking forward to being a better version of me.
