Actively looking for a new bank
I was charged a random amounting to around 6000 Rands for a standard foreign currency transaction through the app. More than a year later, I am still waiting for an explanation from Std Bank. I would not have believed this were possible had it not happened to me.

I was told to download this app for convenience but it doesn’t allow me to add my card because I’m not South African but Ghanaian

Hopeless. Only bank I know of requires you to make a phone call even when overseas to add a card to Apple Pay.
Customer care
I am still not able to make international payments and I have been asking for help since September 2025. Non of the BoPs are working for me and this stops me from completing the payment.

Error 6034 when I tried to re-establish monthly scheduled payments for Fine Music Radio. No help through Chat. All very disappointing.
Poor customer service
Poor customer service doesn’t send you a statement when you ask and is more interested in verification than actually sending you what you want , or charging you interest on your loan when they. Tell you the first payment is not due for another month

When making an international payment, you need to provide a reason.
There is only one option given and the search function for other reasons like”Gift” doesn’t work.

I lost my card overseas with my fone ,I wrote on social media tagged both my bank FNB and Standard bank.Only one that reach out and requested a video call with ID or passport and manage to transfer everything on my new fone.FNB never even bother til today

Your Internet and mobile banking are not intuitive. Your email requests for assistance are sent from one person to the next bouncing me around as If a hot ball to get rid of instead of assisting me. Your WhatsApp call function is very helpful and this is the only way I get assisted.
