I keep trying to create a PIN for easier log in so that I don’t always have to type in my user name and password and for whatever reason, the app refuses to allow me to make one and keeps saying my device (iphone 17 pro max) doesn’t support passkeys and that I need to turn on iCloud passkey and two factor authentication. Both of those are tuned on and yet I still can’t create the pass key. I previously had an iPhone 14 and was able to make a PIN with no issue so I’m not understanding what is going on. I tried calling tech support just now and instead of allowing me to speak to a live representative so I can better explain what’s going on, the robot that answered only gave me the options to text (chat) a live agent or hang up the phone and text (chat) them later if I couldn’t text them right then and there. My statefarm app is up to date on the App Store as well. This may seem like a minor issue but it’s just the inconvenience of it all that’s really annoying me right now.

Good app
The app is fine. One thing that bothers me is the moment you connect to Bluetooth. It starts monitoring your ride. I can’t get into 100+ degree car all ready to go. I must turn the car on and cool it off before I start my driving. I feel like I get penalized for this sometimes I’m not even in my car. I’m letting it cool off but it’s on so I’m connected.

Login is Terrible
If you get locked out of your account, you might as well give up because it doesn’t tell you what you need to do to get it unlocked. It says oh reset your password so you go to the website to reset your password…. It doesn’t work so you have to contact service and then after going through all the steps, to try to reset your password then service has to ask you the exact same questions you just did to reset your password.
So then not only do you have to reset your password once that didn’t work but now you have to reset it twice basically making you have to make another another password , if you get locked out, then you might as well give up because it’s an agitating annoying process to try to get into your account again.
Quick memo you get two attempts and then you get locked out and then you have to go through this annoying process and make 200 million different passwords to try to get back in and speak to service.

Devs - Stop being dumb with forced app updates
For the dev and product team; you know when users open this app? When they have to show insurance proof to the police when getting a ticket, or when they are in an accident. Imagine opening the app with weak cell service in the middle of all that and you can't get to it because of a forced application update. You've just made the situation worse.

Garbage when needed
Works great until you get pulled over or actually need it, then it forces an update, disables offline card access, then it will refuse to accept your login credentials, force you to solve multiple captchas is wont accept, trigger two stage verification, require you update your password, require you update notification settings and everything else it can to screw you over, resulting in you getting a ticket for lack of insurance you otherwise wouldnt get for and encounter that would normally result in nothing more than a delay, changing over to paperless has been the worst mistake i have ever made in the 22 years i have carried insurance with this company.

State Farm is the worst insurance company in the country. After they lost the title they didn’t pay for my rental car. Would not recommend them to my work enemy!!!

Accident
Recently I had an accident and the State Farm app was a godsend. It was easy to use and I was able to have all my questions answered through the app. The directions made it easy to go through the process of making a report. I highly recommend using this app.
Can’t login if I don’t keep the app updated??
It refuses to log you in if you are even one version behind on the app. I don’t allow it to auto update because there is no need to. Deleted the app and I’ll use the website until my policy renewal is up. I’ll move to a brand with better app support

Leave the app like it is. I’m not putting a passcode on my phone. I like the app the way it is right now
Poorly designed app for setting up new acct
Trying to setup an online acct for my mother. The system is awkward navigating to a bday on 1938. I’ve had to do this repeatedly because they won’t send an email for my default password before timeout. I can’t confirm the info I entered because I can’t login. I can’t enter a different acct because one already exists. My frustration is high and I’m now moving my policies to a provider that gets online programming.
