Hog

Too many updates, inconvenient, quickly becoming space and resources hog, every time I try to use it I need an update wasting valuable space and cell data.

Too much locations

This is a review of the State Farm App, Not the company itself. I am very happy with state farm as a company.

This app requires precise location to be on 24/7. I notice the app polls my location way too often. There is no reason this should need to know my location when I am not in my car. The app should only poll my location when it sees the beacon. The app says my data is not sold, but I do not trust this. It is very easy to take my data, call it your own and then say I didn’t sell your data, I sold mine. If the app developers really cared about privacy, they would not poll location in the background without the presence of the beacon. They wouldn’t use any cell data without the presence of the beacon. The fact they do both when I am not in my car causes me great concern. This is also a huge drain on the battery. Battery usage is not a concern if I am driving as my phone is plugged in. They need better transparency for why they keep polling my location, less app requirements, and better control of where my data goes.

Also, please stop nagging me to setup passkey. Give me the option. Allow me to say no thanks and stop bugging me. I hate nagware and that’s what this app has become.

Annoying

Always wants to have blue tooth on even when home. Auto connects to all cars when they have the drive safe app just because you are in car. Both people cannot be driving and its annoying to have to correct every single trip in both cars

Can’t login

Even after changing password on desktop, verifying both username and password are correct I always get an error. I can login on desktop just fine.

Problem submitting requested information

Received an email from State Farm requesting I click on the link to submit my odometer reading. When I click on the link where do I go to submit the reading???????

Passkey won’t set up

The new “security” measures make it impossible to login and use the app. The Passkey feature won’t set up therefore I can’t use the app. What’s the point of security if it prevents people from using the app. I don’t have an older phone either. My tech isn’t the problem.

Don't force me to use a passcode (and the "cloud")!!!

I don't use the "cloud" (which is just a computer in some huge Data Center, sucking electricity and water- raising costs for residents).

I never had a problem using my old PIN (nothing to do with Cloud)- go back to the old way.

The person who approved this change should be fired!

Money

I want to thank State Farm for the checks that I received in the mail!! Living on Social Security is not easy and the checks really helped! I am an excellent driver. I just wish my insurance could go down. But I realize because I’m getting older it will just go up.

Agent

I encounter authur and he was the worst agent. He lied to me and has put my kids in a vulnerable situation. I will file a formal complaint on Monday.

System Data

There is a problem with the State Farm app slowly using up the system data on my phone, until it eventually uses about 1/4 of my 64 gigs of storage. This happens over time, but only when I have the State Farm App downloaded on my phone. This does not happen when I do not have the State Farm app on my phone. In order to fix this, I have to factory reset my phone. This is very frustrating. I have done troubleshooting and deleted so much off of my phone, but the State Farm app just keeps using more.

Claims department

They horribly drag there feet and completely mess up dates on police reports. Plus I’m still waiting for an addresses envelope to come to send my title. Absolutely ridiculous car accident was 7-13-26 and I’m still waiting, and the return phone calls are not being returned. Amongst so many other complications on claims departments side of doing things !!

Battery crusher

This app works great but it absolutely crushed my phones battery. My phone generally last all day and well into the next day, but with this app running location services as always on my phone only last till lunch of a single day.

No FaceID

The newest version of the app removes your ability to login with FaceID. The app itself and description is peppered with references to FaceID, so this downgrade was clearly not well thought out. They have replaced FaceID with passkey which I’m not ready to utilize as I’m worried about the removal of passwords and creating a dependency on devices to authenticate you.

Best insurance agent

Helpful along any problem journey you may have

Passkey why?

FaceID was working fine before. Give the option to use FaceID without passkey.

Statefarm app bug/issue

I keep trying to create a PIN for easier log in so that I don’t always have to type in my user name and password and for whatever reason, the app refuses to allow me to make one and keeps saying my device (iphone 17 pro max) doesn’t support passkeys and that I need to turn on iCloud passkey and two factor authentication. Both of those are tuned on and yet I still can’t create the pass key. I previously had an iPhone 14 and was able to make a PIN with no issue so I’m not understanding what is going on. I tried calling tech support just now and instead of allowing me to speak to a live representative so I can better explain what’s going on, the robot that answered only gave me the options to text (chat) a live agent or hang up the phone and text (chat) them later if I couldn’t text them right then and there. My statefarm app is up to date on the App Store as well. This may seem like a minor issue but it’s just the inconvenience of it all that’s really annoying me right now.
