AI needs improvement

The AI really is sub par compared to other models available out there. I get far better insights taking data snapshots from app and sharing with ChatGPT than natively. It is often not aware of what I am doing. Example today I asked it to provide me average protein, fat and carbs for past week and it only returned last 2 days. It also told me to log foods more consistently when I have been logging everything fully in detail for past 10 days. Needs to be better!

Has Needs

Love the app on the phone. Really works well for me.

PROBLEM IS…..the app does not translate to the Apple Watch. If I try to use my watch, when I get an alert, it does NOT show reading. Tells me to look at my phone. I’m on the road driving a ton. I can not take time to look at it while driving. That’s what I wear a watch for. Make it so readings can be seen on watch.

I wanted to love it

In theory, it’s a great idea. Track your blood sugar to prevent diabetes. However. I checked my BG with a point of care machine with every new sensor and it was off by AT LEAST 30 points every time. That’s fine. I can account for that and just track my trends. But every third or forth sensor, it would read “below 70” for hours. I submitted a ticket each time and received a replacement each time. Until the last one. For whatever reason, Stelo has decided to no longer stand by their product, and denied my claim. My blood sugar measured under 70 for 12 hours. They claim they couldn’t support my claim, even though it’s shown in the app. Once it was denied, I ended my session and I will never use this product again.

It works but can be annoying

I got 2 sensors with my Oura ring 5, I had no issues with the first sensor. It connected easily and didn’t stop early. So why the 2 stars? Well taking a small break into the 2 sensors and the app is just spamming me with notifications about it being ready for a sensor. So much so I deleted the app and will redownload when I go to use the other sensor. In a half hour span I had the notification go off over a dozen times. I understand sending a notification if I close the app while using sensor since it needs the app open. But outside of that if the app is closed don’t be sending me notifications.

App is fantastic, learn the basics of glucose levels

The app is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. It tracks my bgl and it’s easy to see how my eating, movement, and sleep affect me.

What this app is NOT - CGM don’t measure your current blood glucose. They are about 15 minutes behind what’s in your finger. They measure in what’s called the interstitial fluid. Also, the app updates every 15 minutes. So when you see a bgl from 14 minutes ago, that’s really from 29 minutes ago. This is why this software is not for T1. If your bgl is in flux so much that it could kill you, go to an endo and get the dexcom7 prescribed for you. It’s literally the same hardware but with prescriptive software and firmware for people who are insulin dependent. It updates every 5 minutes, putting the largest gap between your current bgl and the sensor bgl at 19 minutes instead of 29.
This isn’t a defect and all the sensors regardless of mfg work this way.

Horrible Updates

This product is way too expensive to not be able to read the charts. The new updates are horrible and there's no way to change it, if you're going to go all black with weird dark font that I literally can't read, at least give the option for light mode. Their customer service is horrible, the device is always ending session early and it's becoming too much of a pain to keep using. Cancelling for good after this weird update.

New update is harming patients

I love dexcom and loved the Stelo device. However, a recent update that made your current blood sugar less prominent made this application much more difficult to work with, and less desirable.

New design old deficiencies

Just before I was to leave this review I see there’s an update. While the new design looks good, there’s still old issues and new issues. Now if you need to edit/delete an activity, you have to go “to the source app”. I now have 6 activities for today and only did two. If you manually enter an activity there is still a 5 min increment instead of 1 min increments. There’s no option to add fluids. It’s all based on food. Food scanner database needs expanding. You can only scan 1 food item at a time and you have to log each one separately

July 2026 update ruined the only thing I used

This new update is full of unnecessary bells and whistles, AI guided stuff which says nothing useful and can’t be turned off, and worse nutrition tracking than before. But the one thing I used every day, the graph of my blood sugar, has been reduced in height by about 1/3 (it looks like), and makes the changes in the graph of my blood sugar too flat. I’m a statistician, and know you can manipulate displays by changing scale, and this is what Dexcom has done. If I could give zero stars, I would. I will use the Zukka app and the Clarity app instead of this horrible, not-an-upgrade upgrade. The CGM itself is fine.

Sensor disconnected and no widget

App is fine and functional. I have had several times that it says “sensor unavailable or disconnected” no reading available. This is very frustrating with a brand new sensor, that isn’t cheap. I don’t what to waste sensors. Biggest complaint is no widget for viewing glucose from Home Screen. Only way to see glucose level is to open the app each time. The old signos app had a great widget. This does even have one.

Dislike the Upgrade

The Stelo app upgrade on 10 July is NOT an improvement. It’s dark, drab & unattractive to look at, and includes too much ‘busyness’ that users can’t opt out of.
•Please allow users to turn off screen-hogging Insights
•Please move the Nutrition/Activity/Sleep bar somewhere it doesn’t hog so much of the screen - not everyone uses activity or sleep trackers
•Please eliminate screen-wasting “Possible meals” — credit users for knowing if they ate a meal or not, and log it if they choose
•Please don’t make users tap to log what TYPE of meal they ate … credit users for knowing if it was breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack.
In short, allow users to customize their screen to be clean or cluttered.

v 3.1.1 brought problems

New update 3.1.1 has connection issues, at least on iPhone Air. App stopped communicating with the sensor I was using days before it should have, and absolutely will not recognize a new replacement sensor.
Reported to tech support but without glucose monitoring until resolved and lost money with prematurely discarded sensor & perhaps the replacement that can’t currently be activated

Update: Dexcom response is log in and report the problem? That was done a few days ago with no response on when to expect a fix. Same as the response here, no confirmation the problem has been acknowledged to exist or when to expect a fix.
Love the product, but don’t understand how a company of this size can release a faulty app update

Bring back the app before the update

Please bring back the old version. I just simply want to see average daily numbers, which is now very hard to find. If you toggle the time slider, it never focuses on the latest period (?!). Don’t care about the ai generated stuff. We all know it’s not helping anybody

Update is terrible

This app was much better before the last update. It is now impossible to edit entries. You can no longer click on an entry and see the data. The most recent update has been a huge step backwards. Very disappointing

Can’t add a new sensor

The UX is so bad. I been trying to add my new sensor all day just to get some generic error message telling me to try again.

Also due to the nature of my work I have the notifications disabled. Instead of treating me like an adult who knows what they’re doing the app literally spams me every single time I open it to ask me to enable notifications. Consider adding a “please remind me in X days” if you’re that nervous about people forgetting to reenable notifications.

new app is like Oura

The new App just feels like Oura. Been using it for 24h and logging meals and tracking my levels. It has everything I want.

Wow bad update

What happened. You guys ruined a perfectly good app. Now the app will not read the sensor correctly. And is 30 points off. It’s the same sensor and worked perfectly on the old app. Also, now I have an AI coach constantly bothering me asking me what to do and I can’t turn it off.

Did the new version 3.1 released yesterday killed the sensor connection?

Sensor stopped connecting to the app after the new version release

Love the the device, not a fan of the new app update layout

I’ve been using the Stelo for over a year. As a Type 2 diabetic, the feedback has helped me keep my numbers in range.

NOT at all a fan of the dark mode update that rolled out yesterday. I’ll get used to the new placement of things, but dark mode makes it harder for me to use. I wish there was an option to turn it off. (hint, hint)

The graph feels more compressed than v2, and I also wish the number of datapoints wasn’t now reduced at the 12-hour look back. That was another fav feature.

Recent update has connection problems

The recent update loses connection with the sensor much more frequently than the old version of the app. Connection has been lost 4 times in the first 12 hours after the app updated. The sensor has only been applied a few days and had no issues with the previous version of the app.
