Pointless
This app provides no usable information and virtually nothing works.
Stopped working
I am no longer able to use the app. It logged out and I am not able to login. It’s now useless.
Glitchy 2nd rate software
Hard to connect. Face recognition doesn’t work and it wants to be on all the time to spy on you. Low quality 2nd rate surveillance software. Car is great, though!
Great cars, poor software.
I love my Subaru, but I have to admit its software stack and app are just not good by modern standards. The app is buggy, slow to update/respond to input, and severely lacking in features.
Here are basic things an EV in 2026 should be able to do:
- change the max charge level while the car is plugged in
- change the max charge level through the app at all
- reliably unlock the vehicle and allow it to start through the app
- allow full climate control through the app while the car is parked for dogs/children
- offer route planning that is SoC-aware, or at least integrate with Apple and Google Maps so they can know about the vehicle battery state
I’m hoping Subaru addresses these shortcomings to improve the quality of life and usability for their EV customers!

Issues:
- Sharing digital key doesn't work: I sent the digital key to an Android 15 phone. After tapping the link with the key, the app simply displays a blank screen with a black button that has no label.
- Status messages can get stuck even after pulling to refresh. To update them, you have to force quit the
- Remote commands could fail with no explanation.
- Most of the time you won't be able to open the car having the phone with the digital key in the front pocket. You have to open the phone to make sure it has the car's Bluetooth connected.
Inconvenience:
- The tap-and-hold feature to activate a remote command is extremely inconvenient. To hold a finger on the screen, you need to be attentive to your finger. In contrast, the tap implementation in Nissan’s MyNissan app, for instance, is much easier.
